Whether Act-Age could continue depends how much of the story Shiro knows ahead of time, if she is as capable a writer as she is an artist, if she's actually allowed to go continue solo, and if she even wants to. There's so many factors that would need to line up for it to continue at some capacity that cancellation in the coming days/weeks seems inevitable. Takeshi did get cancelled swiftly, though Shimabukuro was the only author so there wasn't someone else attached to it losing their job as a consequence, so hopefully whatever happens Shiro is looked after by her editor. Perhaps it's naive but I'd like to think that she'd also be given a major bump in potentially returning to the magazine with a future work if she went that route. The only example of a writer leaving a series and the artist taking on both jobs (that I can think of) would be Ajin, so it's not impossible but again completely different scenarios. Act-Age is superbly written and likely requires extensive research into the acting industry that Shiro simply might not know enough about.
Whether Act-Age should continue is another story. If she somehow takes it all on herself I'm sure certain fans of the series would stick around and support her through the rest of its run (I'd be in that camp) but it would be impossible to pretend it doesn't have a complicated history leading up to that point. After today it's reputation is already tarnished and I'm sure plenty of readers wouldn't continue if it kept being published under any circumstances. If any of you are familiar with the reality tv show Terrace House, it also had a major incident this year where one of the contestants/housemates committed suicide from cyberbullying after being (allegedly) pressured by Fuji TV to film a controversial scene that painted her in a negative light. Production was ceased and now even if it does continue in the future, many viewers wouldn't want to watch it because how it's been tainted because of this scandal. I think the same thing would happen with Act-Age.
As fans it's obviously painful. Yesterday I was emotional prepared for the Taiga Drama arc after great build up, to eventually see Yonagi be directed by Kuroyama, and her to become an acclaimed and successful actor over the course of another 100+ chapters, and now what seemed a reality is gone not even a day later. I know I wanted to see what was planned for the rest of the series, but if it is too much of a burden for Shiro to carry damaged goods or out of respect for the victims, or if it's not technically possible on a business level then I'll just have to accept it and move on and hope she returns in the future so that I can support the hell out of her next work.
