Horikoshi (and in minor degree Tabata) need to take a break every while they get tired quickly (we are for example getting a MHA break this week). We've seen both authors already commenting about that in some author comments in the past.

Taking one unplanned break is not a sign of poor health, specially not one severe enough that would limit him in doing cover LCPs, which didn't even happen in late 2018/early 2019 when he was genuinely not doing well.
Interestingly, the author of 8Kaiju apparently struck a deal with the editors that 8Kaiju will only have 3 chapters a month. That is, 3 weeks—break—3 weeks—break again.

She probably doesn't need to "strike a deal", she just needs to ask. Jump+ series are not on a fixed schedule like WSJ.
Same thing, imo. It’s good labor practice to hash out both the employer and employees’ wants and needs before they begin their contract. A lot of mangakas probably don’t ask for this kind of arrangement upfront because they don’t realize that they do have a right to ask for this.
It was stated by the author directly on one of the break weeks in lieu of a chapter release.

I don't know why. Won't be the first time they boosted just 3 series. A lot of the next gen pushes have been 3 series, if I remember correctly.
