You're forgetting Mitama Secureity from last year. I wasn't actually counting Chainsawman.

Using Mashle as a counter example shows you've missed the entire point. It's a mix of gag and battle shounen, both of which have always taken up a large portion of the roster in the magazine in the past are are important to the core of Jump. Hence why we get special competitions and celebrations for new romcoms and gag manga oneshots and such.

Kamio Yui becoming one as it went on just shows the problem, series just seem to randomly add in exorcists to join the fad. Your romcom is failing? Just add exorcists. Pitching a new gender-flipping romcom to Jump but don't know how to fill out the setting? Just add exorcists. Jump is unsure about running your BL vampire manga? Just add exorcists. Have a great design for a main girl but don't know what to do with her? Just add exorcists. Thought of an MC with a cool power and need a setting to put him in? Just add exorcists.

Exorcists are WSJ's isekai. A basic and easy premise an author/editor lumps on when they don't want to think much about what to do.

This still does not change the factor that there were 10 comedy sleeves in less time than the 8 exorcisms that people so much complain about saturation.
At least there was a gap between saiyuki and Bone collection, I can't do the same for the comedies that are becoming the new jump isekais.

I'm quite curious about this toc, because it's supposedly when Yozakura chapter 44 is ranked, the chapter where the serious stuff started, but don't expect much since it was just the first one, also want to see how Cop and Dolphin gets placed after the color page, Marie got one at ch8 and straight to the bottom after, also see how Magu-chan is placed, if drops more, maybe is time to get worried about.

Being more optimistic, I believe that Yozakura Family will reach 100 chapters.
I do not believe it would be canceled in the next wave, even if it has a high amount of series.

Quick check tells me they're currently drawing a LN adaptation for Hobby Japan called Shinmai Ossan something.

I always find it a little sad to see an artist who had their own series end up stuck drawing some random LN adaptations, but it's better than them disappearing I suppose.

Looking up Shinmai to see if it had any english chapters (it doesn't) got me to find Kiruko-san again, that author's not had much luck. 2 quick flops in WSJ (though Kiruko did live for one batch at least and got a mini-prequel), another short series on Jump+ (that seems to be an adaptation of a board game?), and they don't seem to have done anything since that ended.

Anyone know if Hirakata Masahiro has done any oneshots or mini-series or something that aren't listed on manga updates? I'm curious if just there's stuff they're missing (which is fairly common with oneshots), or if they might be one of those unfortunate authors who give up on being a mangaka after multiple failures.

I'm pretty sure that they had a one-shot in GIGA recently. One sec, I'll see if I can find it.

EDIT: The good news is that I found the issue of GIGA (Spring 2020), but the cover brings back bad memories...

EDIT 2: Oh cool, the author of Ao no Hako also had a one-shot in this GIGA issue (Parasol Alliance). I didn't realize that it was so recent. They're definitely getting serialized soon, lol (as if the sketches of various characters from the Ao no Hako one-shot they've been posting on Twitter wasn't a big enough clue).

Good to see they're stilling in the industry. Though I suppose with the way manga works, a lot of hopeful mangaka probably get part time jobs while they're doing oneshots and make manga on the side (and probably a lot of serialised creators too if they're in a less popular magazine which has a lighter schedule).

nice to see UU vol 1 and 2 still going consistent (on rank 200) after 1 month. thats award did wonder..
UU vol 30 reach 30k in 2 weeks (10days). join 30k club (if its still a thing). UU biggest problem is its had no leg or weak one. big drop after 1 days. that award did nice job.

Oh cool, the author of Ao no Hako also had a one-shot in this GIGA issue (Parasol Alliance).

Parasol Alliance is what led Miura Kouji to be able to publish Ao no Hako. He won a Garyokin Pro prize (Art Pro) with Parasol Alliance, publishing later in GIGA and also in Jump+. It probably had good enough reception to test him on Jump later. He also used a pen name with Parasol Alliance, Amami, being that work also the first one since he left Kodansha. He's an author with experience already, so looking forward his imminent serialization.
