Moderator Notice:
Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

Trending on twitter is a not a big achievement in 2020. The positions are also reliant on other factors.
Pretty much. What I think is more important in using twitter as a reference for popularity is how consistently a series trends.

Trending on twitter isn’t a big deal.... for something that’s already pretty huge. So, yeah, something like MHA, Demon Slayer, One Piece, etc trend is pretty much nothing.

I think it’s pretty nice to see Chainsaw Man, a series without an anime, get widespread love on twitter. I would say if something like Yozakura suddenly started trending it would be nice to see too. I don’t think anyone is arguing Twitter Trending = Big sales jump, or anything. It’s just cool seeing something we’ve all been following on this forum when it was a itty bitty series get tons of recognition online

Everyone, I’ve noticed that some of you have been posting information that’s not directly related to sales or about the health/future of the magazine. Like how that Japanese politician made reference to something KnY related, etc.

These sorts of things belong in the supplemental thread more so than in here. It doesn’t matter if that thread is less popular than this one, either. That’s not a valid excuse.

Let’s course correct on this, please.

So with only 2-3 weeks left it's looking like top 10 will shape up this way

1. KnY
2. Kingdom
3. OP
4. Haikyuu
5. JJK
6. TPN
7. 5toubun
8. MHA
9. SxF
10. AoT

Didn't think JJK would be able to make a comeback this quickly at first but the anime has really been delivering with its boost. Also judging off shoseki KnY volumes are starting to run out of stock.

How do you think they could change in the mid-year 2021 ranking?

Right when we thought there was no way MHA wasn't getting the cover in #50, Shimabu comes out of nowhere and take its place

I'd say "MHA still has no contenders left for issue 51 cover", but I actually see One Piece and Chainsawman having some chances for that issue too.

I think with Shimabukuro new manga 2020 has officialy became the year with the most number of new series in 50 years of Jump history. 17 newcomers. Previous record was for 1994 with 16 series (I'm not counting Ninku Part 2).

Spy x Family Vol.6 delayed to Dec 28th 2020.
Moved forward if anything, it wasn't initially scheduled for december in the first place.

Are we going to discuss that fact that Shimabukuro's coming back not even 3 months after the whole Matsuki incident? Seems a little weird to say the least
Considering Matsuki sexually assaulted multiple underage girls, and Shimabukuro hired a prostitute who lied about her age (who was legal in most of the world, anyway), the two just aren't comparable.

So Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro is essentially taking Act-Age's empty slot? I mean, congrats to fans of his but also... okay. I was never the biggest fan of Toriko in the first place, its macho energy isn't to my taste.

If this is the start of a new round then the other series must be ending from 2021 Issue #1 onwards, right (depending on how many more)?
