As expected, Phantom Seer has grown. It's sold more in 4 days than in 10 days last time.

Roboko has grown too, though not as much. It sold +2k with one less day. As of now, it looks like Yozakura level growth, but we shall see how good its legs are.
A bit disappointing overall, considering all the promotion.

Niraikanai is in line with its previous outing, 1k less with 1 less day. It joins the no growth club with Magu-chan.

HSF sold bad. Nothing more to say.

I think it's safe to say at this point that PS and Roboko are safe for the next serialization round. The casualties will be HSF, Niraikanai and Magu-chan. In that order of priority, subject to how many series start.
If we get no new series until May, Build King could be cancelled too, depending on performance. Maybe even instead of Magu. They could also axe before its volume comes out, if reception has been truly horrible, but I think that's unlikely.

Soooo, Mahito is the first character in JJK to get two manga covers.

Now Jujutsu Kaisen has tied with My Hero Academia, Death Note and Hitman Reborn and beat Assassination Classroom and The Promised Neverland. It will very likely beat Kuroko no Basket (and the manga of the 30M club) and go for Dr.Slump and Saint Seiya next week.

Well, Viz has it named as "Nine Dragons' Ball Parade" on their schedule. "Nine Dragons" is the literal translation of Kowloon (九龍/九龙), even though Kowloon is written in Katakana in the series's title. I have no idea why they decided to go with that title.
I don't know how common it is in baseball series, but it looks like this one had a school with Kowloon in the name (麗峰大九龍高校).

And yeah, probably went with that because it sounded cooler with dragons in the title and, even though it's a baseball series, maybe they're hoping that people just see "Dragon Ball" and check it out. :P

One thing I'm curious about with next week's baseball series is the name. People are localising it to Kowloon's Ball Parade, which is a cool name, but the Kuuronzu part could just be a character's name or something.

We have had the title in English for 10 days from Shueisha themselves. There's nothing much to wonder about it.

I hope ball parade is a good baseball manga and not the same as everything else. Even if its crazy like Kuroko no basket or Blue lock, I'd be very happy 'cus it'd make it way more exciting. And hopefully jump takes risks withh it'ss sports mangas and go for more obscure sports as well like squash or ping pong or badminton or CRICKET

Phantom seer had a really good start for volume 2 despite all the doomposting, as expected, very good.
Roboco's growth for all the push it got (cp, saikyo promo, zebrack promo, jjk collab video, knee pillow, author recommendation, line stickers, "comic live" video) is just disappointing to say the least, they could have given more attention to other series instead of just giving it freaking everything for such a mediocre improvement, this is literally yozakura-level of growth except yozakura was getting absolutely nothing while doing it while roboco is being pushed to hell and back.
HSF did bad, I guess that's not too surprising.

KnY fanbook beating OP is just a lol moment, the artbook did great too even if clearly underprinted (already 3 reprints scheduled for that, one of which today).

Kinda misleading list since 30 million is including digital sales in the mix while most of the other series are just printed copies.

We probably won't have another serialisation/cancellation round for another six or so weeks (likely mid-late March), so not including the safe 2019/2020 series, the least to most in danger at the moment are likely:
  1. Me & Roboco - High TOC rankings, best performing gag manga, moderate growth in V2 which sold more in 4 days than Magu-chan V2 sold in 7 days
  2. Phantom Seer - Lowest (avg) ranked in the TOC of all ongoing series but has the best sales of recent batches and very good sales growth
  3. Magu-chan: God of Destruction - Moderate TOC rankings, fine sales, no growth
  4. High School Family: Kokosei Kasoku - Low TOC rankings, low sales
  5. Hard-Boiled Cop and Dolphin - Low TOC rankings, fine sales but bad for a veteran, no growth
Still need volumes:
  1. Sakamoto Days - High TOC rankings, looks to have a strong start, V2 out in April
  2. Build King - Very low TOC rankings for a veteran, V2 in April so unless it continues to do terribly in the magazine unlikely to be cancelled next round.
And even if the current batch has any flops they wouldn't end until the next serialisation round (likely in May/June) at the earliest. So if two series are ending it's almost certainly sure to be Hard-Boiled Cop and Dolphin and High School Family, with Magu-chan: God of Destruction if a third is needed. Also worth seeing how Build King performs leading up to its first volume in case it gets an U19 ending (though probably unlikely).

The best chance for anyone's favourite series in the recent batches surviving a bit longer is if Burn the Witch or Hunter x Hunter come back since they'll likely only run for one volume worth of material, saving other series from being cancelled in the following rounds.

Pretty much every series that is high in that list reached volume 15 at a point where digital wasn't even a thing...

It's not unfair because digital sales aren't so relevant that taking them out of the sum would lower Jujutsu Kaisen's circulation that much, it very likely would still be above Hunter x Hunter.

I guess with this week there's nothing much to comment on what will happen with each newbie. Phantom Seer doubles its sales, and even goes past its Volume 1 sold copies in 10 days (14.540) in just 4. Also has reprints for that same volume scheduled, and has been ranking daily since Volume 2 was out. A shame it didn't manage to reach weekly.

Roboco's just disappointing, no matter how you look at it. A Jujustu Kaisen parody, a Zebrack promotion, pillow lotteries, reposted voiced comics, an exclusive live comic with an esports caster, a Color Page (like every actual series should have gotten), Saikyo promo, etc. And still just barely did anything different to what Yozakura has been doing since series started releasing volumes, which is slowly increasing and with almost none promotion nor exposure. At least Volume 1 is ranking in daily too, but its numbers are still horrible. Speaking of Yozakura, it managed to chart again in weekly, which is nice. It won't make much of a difference on its long run, probably, but at least the series does sell.

Shark is the next Magu, but in probably a worse situation given we're talking about a veteran series. Shame that the series is actually pretty decent, but it's as stagnant as the pink alien and it should eventually die.

I don't even know what to say about High School Family. Did anyone expect anything different? Series has been ranking low since it actually started ranking, had a campaign with so little buzz it felt non-existent, and the series is just plain bad, imho. It gets even worse if you think that Yozakura's backlog with Volume 6 has sold almost as much. Another one that will hopefully be gone soon.

As for other series on Shoseki weekly, MASHLE has had a pretty high week for its backlog. Just saying that Volume 4's 5th week sold almost as much as Roboco's first week should be enough. Pretty deserved for such a fantastic series, and hopefully we'll hear soon of what plans are being prepared for its 1st Anniversary along with Undead Unluck (even if this one's MIA since January in the ranks).

MASHLE has the same amount of Color Pages Yozakura currently has with 20 chapters less. Undead Unluck is the one behind with 7 color pages and the other 2 with 9. Granted those Color Pages are a decent push, it's no where close the overall campaign Roboco is receiving. Which has pretty much lead to nothing, to an increase Yozakura has been having since Volume 1 continuously when it was a Bottom 5 member every single issue.

At this point, I really don't see them pushing Roboco more. Or rather, they shouldn't. It's not showing any significant growth despite the push it has been getting.

Give those CPs to Phantom Seer already, Nak. Something that actually showed a big VoV increase with no promotion.

Kowloon's Viz name makes me think their will be a catch to it
but it might be nothing, like Yowamushi Pedal where the mc is an otaku for magical girls anime, this guy could just be a huge fan of Dragon Ball or something

anyway, about Roboco small growth, do you think it's because her character design is holding it back? she's a mascot but the design isn't cute

same with UU lack of growth compared to Mashle, and BK reception so far
can the art and characters designs be the thing holding them back?

I don't think UU's character designs have any issues. They seem more of a throwback to older art styles in some ways but that's about it. Still "attractive" designs and cute characters.

I just think UU's initial 5-8 chapters are super hard to get past.

BK is probably being held back in some way by the art choices, yeah

I think it's more that most of the new series aren't really hits so much as having a stable niche fanbase, so they're growing slowly. Mashle was big from the start so it grows well each volume, but Roboco doesn't seem much above Magu-chan in actual popularity and the majority of Undead's growth so far came from the award it got rather than natural volume-over-volume growth.

You could even argue that Ayakashi Triangle's one of them, it does sell well but it seems like it's following on from Yabuki's popularity and fanbase from To Love Ru and the Franxx manga rather than being popular or growing on its own merits.

In terms of natural hits of 2020, I think only Mashle really counts so far. Sakamoto Days could be another one though since it seems to have started really well.

about Shark and Dolphin
I'm now sure Tamura is a one hit wonder
he executed all of his good ideas on his first series, hit the writer wall and now he just throw random stuff at the wall and hopes something sticks
Beelzebub was one of the funniest manga in Jump recent history, but everything he did ever since have been meh
Hungey Marie was illegible and all over the place
and this one had a pretty decent set up but it quickly became Hungry Marie 2.0, not knowing what it want to be
way too many subplot to keep up with, the main plot barely move and when it moves it isn't interesting, it's not particularly funny, not a romance, the ecchi scenes are not particularly well done, the battles are generic

once this get axed I dunno where he go from here, I don't think Beelzebub is popular enough for him to pull a Kishimoto or a Watsuki
and if he start another series who's to say he will won't do what he did with HM and C&D yet again?

My guess is he'll go to Jump+ for a proper delinquent manga instead of one disguised as another genre and find minor but stable success there.

Perhaps even taking the route most 80s and 90s Jump mangaka eventually have taken and make sequels and prequels to their hit series, but Beelzebub was clearly running out of ideas by the end so I don't know if he could really manage that.
