Looks like this case study ends with the conclusion that sales dont trump positioning vindicating those that consistently said that the manga may not have been meeting sales expectations for the genre.

Hopefully this means phantom seer fans will stop beating Magu Chan and Yozakura Family up.
This remains Jump's stupid decision to cancel a manga that made money. And magu cjan continues to harm Shueisha.

Since money doesn't matter, then cancel undead unluck and kaisen jujutsu soon.

There s a difference though between ending next week and "entering its final phase". It could mean that we still have a 5-6 chapters long final arc to go.
Personally, I am more inclined towards thinking that there is something behind the scenes that we don't know. Like, at a certain point the author decided to quit and they told him "ok, but we need you to occupy your slot for a number of weeks" but at that point they stopped promoting it altogether. It is unusual for abruptly axed mangas to give us editor's notice and even extended pages for their end, usually everything we get is the author comments in the final issue.

I wish that in Japan they have a podcast or something where they interview axed mangakas and they explain everything that happened behind the scenes with their manga. I still hope that one day I will be able to know what was the original plan for the story of Time Paradox.

So much arguing on the Phantom Seer situation... and then this happens, huh?

This legitimately makes zero sense to me. There has to be something the editors know that we don’t. Either that or they really did not think the series had potential.
Yeah, the whole back and forth and now WSJ brought down the hammer and made things clear for all of us: It's dead, Jim.

So now it kind of make sense why Phatom seer is rank on the bottom
Because it is axed
It must have been axed for ages then.

There have been way bigger axes in Jump’s history than Phantom Seer, from other series that were deemed solid and had potential, and this won’t be the last. Why are we acting like this is new to Jump, and unique to Nak lol

Wonder what else will join it, if its already time to end manga. This could explain build kings sudden speed in introducing plot points and not wholly designed characters (his author comment) and maybe even I Tell C suddenness of plot points.

It’s such a shame. Phantom Seer hardly got any push at all, I feel like they didn’t even want to try with this series.
That’s the tragic thing about it. I don’t think Jump really even tried to promote the series. I just don’t know why. It could be one of Disco’s theories, it could be that the sales didn’t meet expectations, it could be that the editors didn’t think the manga had much potential.

Im not Nak or an editor at Shueisha, and they obviously have more information on the situation than we do, so I’m going to try and not clown them for this. But this decision just honestly baffles the hell out of me.

I think it’s because jump was viewed to be filled with a lot more solid hits at that time and now it’s need of more solid series. Also because other series have been given so many chances this past year too.

Although there are examples, this does not alleviate the fact of neglect over Phantom seer.

I know people don't like it when I talk, but it just shows that the editors are doing everything to promote the Gags even if they have to sacrifice series that have more potential.

Has there ever been an axed series announced the week before? Usually we find out when the magazine leaks that this week is the final chapter. It seems odd to suddenly change up like that.

It's strange an announce of climax, especially with an extended 23 pages for a manga that should be axed. Anyway, I always think that Phantom Seer should be moved on Jump+, it's the best option for everyone.

P.S. What's the situation with Mangaplus' IDs?
