Act-Age, one of the biggest disappointments of the 21th century. When it started most people believed it wouldn't survive the axe because of its theme - female school girl with interesting talent of acting "perfectly" based on her memory becoming an actress, but it proved everyone wrong, gained an actual following, sold quite decently, had an live-action theater play prepared and all bets were off of it getting an anime next year and then... the motherfucking mangaka, the author one doing the storyboard not the artist, got arrested for being a perverted creep touching school girls while on his bike and AA got instant canned and with it all hopes of an anime to see Kei and Chiyoko on screen came to an end.

I think that at this point nothing will happen to bc so long as it sells 100k per volume while not the biggest number it’s not a small one either so to me the series already gained a sturdy enough foothold in the magazine plus with jjk and mha on their way out soon also with mashle halfway done and the numbers that bc does sell there just isn’t enough to warrant a cancellation so black clover is probably going nowhere in the long run and will finish naturally

lol you guys are jumping the gun waaay to fast because of some bottom placements, Mashle was literally dead last on #50. Series like Reborn, Bleach or Toriko had their anime finished and got nothing more until the end, Black Clover has a theater movie being produced that we still knows nothing about it, we also dont know what are the talks behind the scene about the anime future, that i doubt Tv Tokyo and Shueisha are not interested in continue, basically BC still a active multimedia franchise, theopposite of the mentioned series.

Btw, about AyaTri, still saying the same, it will not be a long series but it will be over 100ch and get a anime.

I agree, there's a film next year and we will get info about that at JF and we don't know if Shueisha has plans for the anime in the future, Shueisha literally acknowledge BC being the #1 most wacthed anime in Crunchyroll over 80 countries meaning it brings a lot of money, so I wouldn't be surpised if after the movie they decided to continue with other projects, BC still has a long way to go still, personally I think it will be around the 500-600 chapters.

Shueisa doesn't give a damn about world profits, she rightly looks to Japan. And in Japan, Black Clover's biggest profit is anime music. Literally.

For the anime ... let's be realistic, anime based on manga like Reborn which has sold about 35 million copies does not yet have a complete adaptation, Dragon Quest Dai which has sold 50 has had to wait twenty-five years to get one. .... what hope can Black Clover have?

Which then I do not understand why it is assumed that the film will be a great success.

But that depends on the success of that movie, and personally I think the black clover movie should adapt Spade's arc rather than being an original story. Just like the mugen train.

And I don't think it's healthy for black clover to last more than 400 chapters, the power scale is already too high, it's almost difficult to create something above that.

Well Tabata did plan out three major arcs for the story with the elf arc being the first the spade arc being the second one so we can assume that the third arc after will be the final arc and might possibly end at around 500 chapters at the most

Too risky to do a trilogy, not even knowing if the first movie will live up to expectations.

Both are gonna survive anyway despite stagnating/straight up declining just because the magazine has such low performers overall and like 75% of the current series are gonna be ending in 2022 or 2023. Honestly every newbie in the magazine that isn’t named Mashle, Blue Box and maybe Sakamoto Days have not been that impressive even though a few (like AT, UU and TES) are gonna have full runs and get an anime regardless
