Hunter x Hunter chapter 428 is completed!

--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

Togashi has also completed a colored shikishi illustration, not known if is for something HxH related or for some anniversary celebration, maybe InuYasha 30th anniversary? 🤔

So, I remember last year when I saw the advertisement for Schroenger’s Call in Jump and was excited because of how it had a look that dragged me in. It is published under Shueisha Games and has gained a lot of critical acclaim and accolades. Then learning about a few Weekly Shonen Jump series are coming out from them got me enthusiastic. So I’m wondering, out of the 3 that were announced which ones are people excited for?

Both WSM & WSS issues with 24 series published, meanwhile Jump has only 19, 18 if either OP or Kgb are in a break...

So I will go into the magazines genres with some of what has improved what needs to be fixed (namely the sports series). I don’t know where to begin, do I go by the genres or do you want me to go by the series? If the latter, the current roster or some cancelled works? And if the latter, to share my thoughts and why it didn’t work for me.

Since we got a lot of time to kill, once Sakamoto Days ends, do any of you guys believe one of his assistants will debut soon after?

I do not have anything backing this up, but i guess it would be between three names, all three of them having been participants of Golden Future Cup:

Yuuto Saezu, who participated in 2018's GFC with Mist no Kaiboruko; They released a full manga in Jump Plus but it seemed like it did not really hit it off with folks, but i could see a comeback eventually either there or in the magazine proper.

Tomohiro Iwakura, participated in 2020's GFC with Blade Kid and recently debuted a Ninjaone shot in Jump Giga Summer, so potential of him possibly making a debut is likely.

Lastly Kazuhiko Ookawa, participated in 2024's GFC with Fukkatsu Shin Hanzaki and recently did a full one shot in Jump Giga Summer 2026, i think he is also a likely candidate for debut one of these days.

Those are the three assistants i could ventire a guess as likely to debut once DSakamoto Days ends its run. Thoughts?

True, but they always have the lineup cycle with different series on break every week to accommodate the lineup. It's honestly great, gives mangaka more breaks.
I've always wanted to see Jump do that, maybe even add a few monthlies as well.

Not to say the others were bad, but I remember Blade Kid and even though some aspects of the art were rough, I still think it had a lot of fun personality and that is the key to engaging readers, like the first 2 chapters of Sakamoto Days.

Unrelated, but still related, I'm expecting 3-4 GFC losers to debut before we get any of the previous winners serialized. Something like Signal All Red would be great to debut right now, with Blue Box and Himaten recently ending, but alas, it'll manage to come out when the magazine has 3 romance series running.

I would have said so too, but then after conversing with my friends on Discord, I realized it would face stiff competition as it could compete against Roku and Animal Signal. Especially the latter if Animal Signal does explore the romance but for Signal All Red needs some of those slice of life school comedy and heartfelt stories to help expand beyond what the one-shot presented. Plus both female leads in both are tsunderes, so it will be a question on which one you would pick.

And many readers will probably choose the established one by proven names over Signal All Red, unless something goes horribly HORRIBLY wrong with Animal Signal.
I also feel as though we have enough romance or romance adjacent series right now with Someone Hertz, Animal Signal & now Ura, so adding a 4th one, especially if it's from Shirosaki or Hakase is essentially condemning it to failure & would only serve to keep the curse alive, which is why I believe strongly that Tabigoro Kuji will be the first winner to get serialized as he won't have as much overlap with the current line-up should he get serialized.
