Yeah, right now it seems like Champion has a pretty nice variety of genres going on that are doing well. I wonder if they'll stick to trying to find an action/gory/horror series like what Great Old and Inferno both tried to be. Depending on how big the new serialization round is, I could actually see Shutsujin surviving another round since it looks like Inferno definitely will and Mound may both end before it. Plus, isn't there an open slot from Samejima?

There are two open slots atm one of which will be covered by the new romcom series whilst the samejima slot will probably be filled by one-shots till the next new series round so Shutsujin might be kept alive if the next series round is only two series, if its three the head editor could also opt for mound no taiyou if its sales aren't terrible.

I actually forgot about Magical Girl Site in the line up, though i did not mean an action edgy series but something more like Genshita Jamone mystery horror there are no recent successes that i can remember in this genre. I would also not classify Great Old or Inferno as edgy horror action series, the lastest series in that genre was probably Midori no Yuugure and there was also BIohazard which was in this genre so its something they could also explore.

It was, not many short series actually get bundled and released into a tankoubon, and i am sad that it seems like it wont turn into a official serialization (its volume release in august is not numbered so its a stand alone volume)
In the next issue there will be another cross over but this time is Kaida-san no Kaidan Vs Franken Fran.

I just looked through the raws for the first chapter of this, and the last couple pages completely surprised me (despite what the title is). For anyone else how has read it, what exactly happens in the first chapter? I thought I was getting the gist of it just by looking at the images, but based off of the last few pages, I clearly missed something lol

You didn't miss anything, it literally comes out of nowhere. What you can get from just looking at the pictures is pretty much exactly what you'd get from reading the text.

Iruma's stock is on the up.

Kaida-san situation is unclear, it is continuing next week and there is no confirmation of it becoming a official series though i would like that and its sales seemed to be decent.

Chosokabe and inferno should be ending within the next couple of issues. Oni is my bet to be become a success, the other two are up in the air.
