I made a recent blog post on the state of the magazine and iruma kun recently.
I was thinking of doing one on the series but decided against it since i am not necessarily too keen in any of them. I will leave some comments here though
1 - Yankee JK
A stable ero romcom, Toshinori is an experienced author with some series like this under his belt like Amaenaideyo
2- Nazuna
A nice comedy series, its actually does not have have a lot ecchi stuff even though it was advertised as ero comedy.
3 - Tougen
A battle series - I personally feel like too much was crammed in the first chapter and perhaps even the second.
Thank you! Your write up was very interesting! I do agree that Champion is in a decent position. Iruma-kun’s a bona fide hit and pillar of the magazine, Beastars is continuing to be strong, and Yowamushi is enduring. I think their experiment with serializing popular web series in Meika-san and Mute Girl is quite interesting, and I want to see what results they yield next month. Plus, in terms of finding new series, I don’t think they’re in as big of a rush as Jump is.
However, I do agree with you that spinoffs running within the magazine is a cause for concern. Those can be used to help our readership in other magazines. And I do hope they continue to find series that weren’t already popular on the web. I haven’t caught up to SHY, but hopefully it can grow, or at the very least, chart with its next volume. It definitely has more potential than the batch it debuted with. Maybe Kuzuhana can also make something for itself as well.
I do wonder if Akita Shoten will focus more on its digital manga side as well. MangaCross has quite a hit in Boku no Kokoro, so hopefully they take more of a gamble there. It was originally part of the magazine before it moved there, so it’s possible that the spinoffs can be moved there as well (though likely won’t happen).

How is Baki-dou doing at the moment because I do know Baki used to be a massive signboard work for shonen champion and it is one of the best selling manga of all time.
I didnt go into too much detail. But yes Akita shoten should definitely invest more in Manga Cross, It was originally a merge between the dead champion tap (more shounen ish) and Champion cross a more adult one. I dont think they even had a specific editorial department for them. so it was quite a side somewhat unimportant thing, but now they do seem to care about Manga Cross a lot more.
There is not only Boku Yaba but also Atarashii Joushi wa do Tennen which placed third just above Bokuyaba in the Tsutaya award thing. It has 400k copies in print with 2 volumes so its above boku yaba but its aimed at a female audience (it started as a twitter series). It also has some other low profile hits like Cigarette, Kawai Kouhai, creature girl that actually at in regards to shoseki sell better than quite a few series in WSC.
I will be very surprised if Koe did not sell reasonably well - it has big engagement on twitter which is probably how it got nominated for tsugi kuru without even having a volume out. Meika a bit less so.
I've had this stewing for far too long, so I might as well spruce up what I have and present this now.
For the past month or so, I've been working on a spreadsheet that contains sales data of currently running Champion manga. And now, I'm here to deliver it. Please take a look! If you have any concerns or questions, please tell me! I'm still working on this rather frequently, so feedback is especially appreciated!
Looking at that data and man Iruma's growth is insane, really happy for it. Also, how is Rokudou's print number so high? Seems like a lot for a series only selling that much, guess it has a consistent >500 backlog?

Btw, Harigane Service sells better than i thought, weird that in all these years they never pushed for a anime, maybe fear of getting too compared with Haikyuu?

I think there are at least 10 volumes of it, right? The person who did this chapter said that they wouldn't continue with it, but I heard that another person/group is currently working on Chapter 2 (and they seem intent on doing the full series).

Koe is out of stock on Amazon. It is reminding of Makai...

-Iruma Volume 16 fell outta the Shoseki rankings, unfortunately, but the series is still on an upwards trend! And Volume 17's got a big shot at breaking 100k in a month!
-Makai seems really frontloaded. A good 66k of it's 77k sales came in it's first week. This may be due to stock issues, as the volume did sell out. Whether the series will experience an upwards or downwards trend depends on subsequent volumes. But for now, it's very safe. It worries me a bit, honestly. Them having a spinoff of one of their pillars as well as plucking popular webcomics is intriguing, and a good business move, but I'd still like to see them grow brand new hits that they can truly call their own. Please improve, SHY.
-Boku no Kokoro is doing nicely with only 3 volumes. I want it to get an anime, if it isn't too early. I can only seeing this go further up.
