Re: Weekly Shounen Jump [2009] - Discussion & TOC Talk v.2

first time he showed quite a few people there, adult Reborn, adult Skull, adult I-Pin Master, adult Viper, Verde overall, and Arcobaleno Umi

reminds me of when Kishi did that Jinchuriki color spread of a bunch of awesome design we'll never see used
Not really, there may be an arcobaleno arc that may take place in present time when they aren't dead, so it's not impossible. In naruto it's clearly impossible (unless they get revived)

Shueisha knows how to sell akamaru jump :XD nice to see the arcobalenos, and especially reborn, full grown. No more surprises, yama, tsuna, etc, we have seen all our protagonists fullw grown and this poster looks awesome

Yasuhiro Kano, man reading that one shot hurts. Ah, I was constantly thinking about mx0. A full grown lucy meets a shy kuzumi with another haircut. Those facial expressions will always be awesome :)

That issue of Akamaru Jump looks very interesting, what with a cool Bleach cover (too many already though), an adult Arcobaleno poster (finally!), and one shots by the authors of Mx0 and Muddy and all! It's good to see how Muddy's author improved his/her art, though great to begin with (except for the lack of detail on backgrounds).

Really shocked by that Arco poster and how good it is...I guess Amano is just as bad at wasting good concepts as Kishimoto is. (as someone mentioned the Jinchuuriki)

That's awesome. I love the reborn poster. Who did each of those oneshots? The shinigami one looks cool.

I still hate what the series has become (more on that in a few days), but i'm a sucker for good colour art, and skull... i mean... just cool. despite the fact that the cliche design shouldnt be.... ARGH

so in short yes. nice poster, but the series can still rot in hell. Amano can just make more arcobaleno posters and stop the series :P

I second to what you say. If you look at that poster, next thing pops up in my head:

"hey did you really have to kill (almost) all arcobaleno. Look at those future versions, something nice to build an arc on. But no, boxes and funeral wrath :("

Even if I enjoy Hitman Reborn, the boxes thing is kind of annoying. Feel kind of strange IMO. It really is a lot interesting to have the arcobaleno arc IMO. Although the funeral wrath thing is alright.

The Arcobaleno pic is nice.

You guys haven't taken into account that if the group manages to get back to the present, all of the arcobaleno would be alive again. So they aren't really dead. Their forms in the poster aren't future arc models, because they were like that before they became arcobaleno, meaning if they went to the present, they'd still look like that.

In anycase, akazukin eliza looks enjoyable though I'd like to know what it's about.

Basicly, a fun comedy parody of the Little Red Riding Hood story.

You have a doping, overprotective grandma kicking the asses of anyone who comes close to Eliza.

Then there's "Wolf", who's actually a healer hired to come over to heal grandma.

Also Wolf's pet, a giant leech/earthworm (I think) that eats everything contaminated by poisons (including Eliza's cloth... :p)

If that is what it is that is a bit different from Kano's previous series. Both Mx0 and Pretty Face had the protagonists trying to hide some secret from the people around them for a while.

I'd be happy if he didn't go down that route again if this series were to be serialized at any point.

It's a one shot :p
It's actually pretty much in line with his comedy one-shot. Special girl vs Normal/Average/Shy guy.

I know its a one-shot which is why I said "If it were to be serialized at any point". XD

Although who knows when Kano will get serialized again.

hmm... well, Eliza, along with his last one-shot, Doki Doki Summer Beach, didn't really give the impression as some sort of serialization preparation (because of the limited premise of the overall plot).

I do hope to see him starting something new soon... sigh...

Oh god I remember reading this one Little Red Riding Hood parady, I couldn't even get through the first chapter because of how freaky it was.

Can't even remember the name of it but oh man.

I think I know which one you're talking about, my friend told me it was sorta odd, but got better later on, I remember there being a thread here about it. Not my cup of tea though.
