It has been obvious Akaboshi would be the next cut since it debuted low in the bottom five. Reading discussion about it at this point is kind of boring.

Bakuman started in the Bon issue last year so this is actually it's first anniversary coming up...interesting to see it lasting this long after Obata's last series but Ohba may have something to do with it.

And meanwhile...it was just a bad time for both Medaka and Akaboshi, that's all I really can say at this point with them pretty much guaranteed (well in Akaboshi's case) cutting soon. Weird seeing though series like Psyren and Sket not down there anymore...

It's too early for Ane, Kagi and that other series to go yet. Akaboshi and Medaka will probably go in their place when we get new series probably in September. (and that will probably be it for new stuff until December when we get to Issue 1, 2010.

Most likely in late August, after the double issue or early September. Cuts are usually 8 to 12 weeks apart.

Is there a chance we'd know if DGM's returning in the weeks before Akamaru if it's going to happen immediately after? It'd probably be revealed in the spoilers... But I can also see it happening during cut season, too.

Wait, when are the Golden Future oneshots ending? That might be it.

The rumours said HxH would return in October, but will there be a round of cuts in October? Would they add it without cutting something else? Maybe if Ane-doki or Kagijin ends up plummeting just after the next round of cuts, or something else ends (Kuroko?)...

It could happen similar to what happened in 2007 around this time where they cut a couple series and wait a few issues before adding new ones.

39 end Volleyball

44 new Hatsukoi Limited
45 return HxH

Who knows though. Hopefully Togashi finished this batch of chapters before DQIX hit stores.

Jump recently opened a special site just for the summer holidays called "Trea-Jump Island" (sounds something like 'Treasure Island') which will last from the 3rd of August up till the 31st.

It features:

• Free 1280 x 1024 wallpapers - there's a batch of them in the treasure chests featured on the page. A new treasure chest will 'open' each week. Some of the ones from the first batch are wallpapers available this month on the main site.
• The first 3 chapters of currently serialized works (Japanese only). The site is claiming that it will have more than 1800 pages up.
• Free clock and news desktop application featuring a popular character (currently Goku from Dragonball)
• Blog part with scrolling news
• An open survey (Japanese)
• Links to games already on the main site

I wish the survey had an 'outside Japan' option to it's drop down of readers location... Anyway, there's nothing really special for non-Japanese people except the wallpapers maybe.

Also, from the way D.Gray-man is still listed there, I'm fairly certain that it'll continue to be serialized in Shonen Jump.

No worries about D.Gray-man. It's volume sales is higher than even Reborn or Gintama, if not for hiatus it would surpass their sales.

We still can't consider that Ane Doki and Kagijin are safe from this round of cancellation. Ane Doki was released too early, which Ane Doki started 7 weeks after the release of Akaboshi and usually next new series line-up begin about 10 weeks after of past new series line-up. So, these series might have chance to be axed with short chapters, like Chagecha (8 chapters) and Meister (10 chapters), with Akaboshi.

Chagecha and Meister are extreme examples. Most series are given (roughly) 15 - 20 chapters to prove themselves. Asklepios and Hoop Men, for example. Even Muddy and K.O. Sen had more then ten chapters. Ane Doki is by a well known mangaka who is following up a successful series. I doubt it will debut in the bottom five. Kagijin could but with Asklepios so low and Medaka doing relatively poorly it would be hard to justify ending it with less then 15.

Wouldn't be surprised if Medaka gets cancelled along with Akaboshi, Medaka has been in the bottom 5 for three weeks straight and now is in the bottom 3. It's pretty much bombing.

Jump's not beyond cancelling Akaboshi, Medaka, AND Kagijin all at once if they're doing badly enough.

Words cannot describe how happy I was to see DGM as one of the series with a three-chapter preview up there. (I tried reading it, too. ^^;; )

Anyway, I think TitaniumChloride meant that it probably won't be moved to another magazine (like SQ) if it's being featured on the WSJ site like that - not that it'd ever be cancelled.

We cannot consider Ane Doki is safebecause the author is well known. There are lots of authors that have failed after the success of their previous one, like Watsuki, Fujisaki, Sawai, and Takei. The Jump will not give more chance to well known, they going to give all mangakas an equal chances.

And we should not think just about series's position based on quality of chapters, we have to look all of the series' quality in Jump to predict series' ranking.

I'm not saying that Ane Doki is really bad series. But, I think that Ane Doki has high possbility that it will not going to debut in bottom 5, but based on quality of chapter 2 and 3, Ane Doki have possible chance to drop, even to bottom 5.

For example, Ane Doki's ranking on chapter 2 is going to be released at about issue 41.

List for some series' chapter ranking on Issue 41:

Ane Doki=chapter 2
Kagijin=chapter 1
Sket Dance=chapter 97
Psyren=chapter 78
Mago=chapter 66
Toriko=chapter 56
Bakuman=chapter 45

In you guys opinion, based on above list, actually how many series are worse than Ane Doki's chapter 2? Be Honest!

definitely there will be some news of DGM in Akamaru Jump. If DGM is gonna reserialize in WSJ again, some spoilers might come 2-3weeks in advance. Since DGM will have 50p in the upcoming week n it might be too rush to make an annoucement , it would be less likely that DGM will get reserialized right after Akamaru Jump.

I think it might return to WSJ after the golden future cup ends
