It's an alright series, though in my opinion chapter 2 should've been included in the first chapter.

I think a series that sandwitched by Jaguar and Tolove-Ru (like Asklepios and Hoopmen) and a series that stay above Tolove-RU (like Bokke-san and Akaboshi) are a number 1 choice for cancellation.

I wouldn't have a problem if To Love-Ru was canceled becase i personaly think its kinda out of place anyways. It dosent seem like a Shonen type series anyways. Akaboshi was kinda cool in the begining but its kinda dull now. I dont care for Medaka Box either so It wont be any loss to me if Jump axes those series.

Re: Weekly Shounen Jump [2009] - Discussion & TOC Talk v.2

It just occured to me, but what's the max limit on the number of series that can fit into a single, normal issue of Jump anyway?

Huh, I just read that Kochikame's live action premiere wasn't too hot.
Tokyograph said:
Despite the hype, the TBS drama series "Kochira Katsushikaku Kameari Kouenmae Hashutsujo" (abbreviated as "Kochikame") got off to a poor start this weekend. The first episode, which aired on August 1, managed to get only 12.2% ratings in the Kanto region.

^Weekly Shonen Jump has 21 manga series and has roughly around 450 pages, its a perty big magazine, its about the thickness of a freakin phone book. And lol at the Kochikame live action series bombing

I was thinking that most people in MH are judging too fast on whether this series will bomb or not.

Some people already saying that Ane Doki will be success and Kagijin will be bomb. Even in drama, Kochikame did have pretty disappointing start, but I think 12.2 rating isn't really that bad.

I think we have to be more patient on what's going to happen on the series.

Well guessing on what will bomb and what won't is fun :D. Plus, what else are we supposed to do in between ToC's and chapter releases?

Re: Weekly Shounen Jump [2009] - Discussion & TOC Talk v.2

I just found out that in accessup.org, most of high ranked series are mostly become successful. According to accessup.org, number 1 series in 2007 and 2008 are Sket Dance and Nurarihyon no Mago. And low ranked series are usually get axed, like wost series in 2007 and 2008 are Poseidon Gakuen and Meister.

I'm not sure this is good info. to make prediction on which Jump series can be successful or bomb. I want to know what others think. In addition, best series in 2009 is currently Itsuwaribito Utsuho (from Weekly Shonen Sunday), and worst series is Wajimania.

Can someone give the total sales of each volume of Mago and Toriko? And the first six volume of D.Gray-man?

Looks like Shueisha is conquering all of the book store on this week. And Prince of Tennis is still strong as before. Also, I think this is actually a first time that Psyren went above Sket Dance.

Re: Weekly Shounen Jump [2009] - Discussion & TOC Talk v.2

Can't wait to see numbers next week! About a month ago there was a message with a couple of chapters of Psyren mentioning volume 6 sold out, that volume 7 increased sales (presumably) is not much of a shock. I'm happy to sit it, even if I knew it was coming. I presume first week will be under 100,000, but I'll wait for next Wednesday to prove me wrong.

BTW: every other publisher avoids putting their big titles out the first week of the month. Shueisha taking the entire top ten is impressive but the competition knows to stay away.

Re: Weekly Shounen Jump [2009] - Discussion & TOC Talk v.2

I mostly agree. Although for Mago, i think its more of loyalty than friendship, at least from Rikuo's underling POV.I also don't know about endeavor. To-love is more friendship i think
