Wow...Bakuman is genius. I love how he put Inumaru dashi in there. I think Meister is in the corner too. But silly Obata, Inumaru Dashi never had a cover. =P

it'd be my dream for all the gag series to get covers, i mean jaguar doesn't even need them to boost it's popularity, but sket dance is doing okay without em, so imagine a world where it gets them! damn lack of rotation of covers

I think that what everyone really wants is essentially Jump from a couple years ago. Prior to the rise of Toriko and Bakuman, every series, no matter how minor (except Jaguar) got covers at least once per year. They seemed to eliminate the covers for the more minor series as a recent phenominon in '08 and, prior to Toriko and Bakuman's rise, really didn't seem to care at all about doing so. (heck, they still don't if you saw Psyren getting a CP but no cover recently for an anniversary...it's like you have to be massive, have huge potential or legacy to be considered for a cover these days)

jump's entered a sorry state in the promotion aspect for sure. sket dance had it even worse than psyren, it's one year colour page (sans cover... and sans being a spread or ANYTHING) was delayed by months!

i miss the days when even a series about to end (PoT, P2) can get a cover for their anniversary....

But it was the last one the magazine did until Toriko and Bakuman. Look at '08 and see the series that got covers...note how they rarely included newer series and even series on the lower ends of the pecking order (Neuro, To-Love, Sket). It was all established, hyped hits that Shueisha wanted to keep pushing over and over...at least until the two mentioned above came out. (though compare them to Psyren and Mago, which are at the short end of the stick)

yes, that's what i said. it's one of my favourite covers of all time too!



and it's tragic that d.gray-man's cover was taken from it by HxH last time... ah well nowt to be done about it. one day WSJ will make itself more pleasant. hopefully bakuman's high profile statement about it all will encourage something amongst that fans, if not some of the staff

all three are feasible options, especially with both rising spectacularly in sales and popularity (sket dance more than psyren but i attribute that to age and gag holding more appeal in sales)

It amazes me that it hasn't gotten one for a while. Granted that one arc where everyone got infected was horrible so not getting a cover during that is understandable.

While I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't get a cover, I will still be pissed if doesn't get the cover when it returns. D. Gray Man surely deserves it, even without being gone for so long, but I suppose I will be satisfied with a color page.

good god we're disenchanted!

ah well we have the joys of a one piece cover this week which is nice. chances are something else will get thecover the week next (money on any of the big 5? i'd prefer love trouble... wait is it near it's anniversary?) and then statistics show we'll get new series probably.... and lose meister

I am not very enjoyed by a One Piece cover. I am probably the only one here who doesn't understand One Piece's appeal. XD

I'm a bit surprised to see a new basketball manga: another sport would be better.
And I'm a little worried about having 3 new series (2+1 return) with just 2 ends (Meister + Askeplios)...Also HxH should come back soon, I think...There will be another end?
