ugh another gag series? Seriously? More gag series and more basketball manga, greaaaat.

Why would they serialize another basketball series if they knew KnB is doing so well
gag series are awesome.

babies in gag series are.... hmm.... well reborn sucks so much now it's hard to tell if it was funny back in the gag days. but i have good hopes for beezlebabu (barely)

another basketball series is fucking unneccesary, meister ending fills me with sad and

AHAHAHAHAHA ES21 FALLS FROM GRACE

poor sket though

Reborn was never funny. Well, maybe a little bit. I would have never kept reading if it didn't turn into an action series though.

the gags were very hit n miss, so it's not like it was a pinnacle of humour like jaguar or kochikame, so the first two action arcs were well needed. but that's really it. the future arc has mostly sucked

Stunned into happy silence at the DGM news. Cannot comment.

Wow, that was a fast cancellation for Meister. I guess it was just unfortunate to have plummeted just as a new round of cuts was beginning, and maybe it had just enough chapters to make one volume... Bad timing, probably.

#12 (16/02) :
Sket
Mago
Es21
Neuro
To Love
Meister (End)
Jaguar

#13 (23/02) :
Ryuuha Tamura / Beelze Baby (New Série)
Inu, Neuro, Es21 (Pc)

#14 (02/03) :
Kawaguchi Yukinori / Série sur le Basket (New Série)

#15 (09/03) :
D.Gray-man (Retour)
Well that was an extremely fast end for Meister. So long.

Oh come on another Basketball manga? I mean really now? That is just retarded when there is already one in serialization. Also another gag series...ugh. Hopefully both can be used as padding for other series. :notrust

Eyeshield just needs to hang on so it can end properly. Happy to see that Psyren isn't in the bottom. Unfortunately, To Love is atm.

Also D.Gray-man returns. Hopefully, it comes back on a good note and not a bad one.

OK, which is more shocking: Meister just bombing like that (still not shorter than Chagecha though, more an M&Y/Junbor case where it at least gets a good chunk of stuff that could make a volume, maybe two) or ES21...dying. At least in a strange way, Neuro (which is near end) and To-Love (which could end at any time if written correctly) could be enough of a buffer for Sket and Mago...at least unless some of the newer stuff croaks.

Oh, and interesting to see Beezle Baby return as a series...but we'll see what happens in the big league.

I usually miss the jokes in gag series. The only reason I read Chagecha because it was comical action, not all gag. I mean One Piece is probably funnier then some of the gag mangas, probably because I don't get the jokes.

To me I would say ES21 is the more shocking one. It was a major series for a bit and it has just been loosing steam. I think the problem here is the amount of emotional investment most people had in the series waned once the original goal of the Christmas Bowl ended.

Meister dying really isn't shocking to me.

But when I think of all the series that could naturally end in the next few months I hope something good actually replaces them.

Also I hope the newer stuff croaks

Look at my banner and discover a good action manga

Meister already getting axed. Speaking of impatience. Well then again I was kinda right when I expected one sports manga to survive. Adding a new sports manga (basket again?) makes me wonder if es21 is truly coming to an ending or wouldn't it be more like a slice of life/sports manga (in the genre of sasameke). Anyway I fear for mago if it doesn't get out of there. How many times in a row has it been we haven't seen psyren in the danger zone?

These new series are probably just going to be used to hold spots until the mangaka who actually have a chance to make it big like Komi and Kano are ready to come back. I think this week makes the third Psyren has not been in the bottom six or something.

One Piece, Naruto, Toriko, Bleach, Bokke - san, Reborn, Psyren, Mago, D. Gray Man, Hunter x Hunter. That's ten action series, albeit two are on hiatus at the moment. All but Bokke - san have at least a year of serialization. Any new action series is doomed to early cancellation, the demographic is already over saturated. Eyeshield is ending this season. It's obvious. The last game is going to start next week (thus color pages), after that finishes the series will end. When that happens Jump is in danger of losing any remaining sports fans. The editors seem to have a soft spot for comedy and gag series. With Yusha long gone and Sket solid but always a little shaky, it couldn't hurt to add another 20 page comedy series.

Is the future arc still going on or did it end yet? I was wondering about that. I stopped watching the anime and decided just to wait for Viz's releases.

Well a lot of shonen do the swan dive once the anime is over and the story collapses...though ES21's collapse the last couple months isn't just obvious on why but just a head-hitting decision by whoever decided to do this arc in the first place. (editors, Inagaki and Murata, an unknown reason)

v_v Reborn is still staggering on. Looked like the last battle was going to start for about half a chapter. By the end it was obvious there would be like ten more fights or something. I can't remember if I've read the new chapter or not.

VIZ's translation of Reborn sucks btw.

How many sports fans are there among jump? I think someone should give a shot at trying a sport that hasn't been done to death...if there are any left. Maybe the novelty would help it survive longer.

Most comedy series don't appeal to me. The last series with comedy elements I liked was Bobobo. I think whoever mentioned One Piece being funnier than some of this other stuff spoke for me as well.

Probably why I'm in favor of manga getting their anime later on rather than that 2-3 year mark that tends to happen. The anime wouldn't catch up to the manga as easily and collapse.

I honestly didn't mind the idea behind the arc because the stuff with Panther and the Americans needed to get resolved. The execution has just been bad.

*waits for the far too long time till we get the pretty inudash colour page- and they all are pretty. Ooishi's main pull is that he's unusually good at stylised colour art*

man i want far more gag. not neccesarily something like beelzebabu, more something like.... shuuichi aso or Amon Dai returning, two of my favourite gag manga ever made
