Ok, let's get back more into general wsj discussions and not into detailed anime reviews. We have other threads for that stuff -_-;

Randal, that was a little much 'idiots', 'moronic' and ... eh... there was a third one. I took that part out. Please keep in the mind that the people you adressed with that are reading this thread as well (like me).

Noodle, I at least understand how DN is a love it or hate it manga. I mean seriously, each volume takes like five hours to read, because it's like reading a novel. If you don't like dialogue heavy entertainment, it's understandable. I also am a fan of Kevin Smith and Tarintino movies, showing how I like well written talking. XD
ah a fellow smith fan! dialogue heavy movies are fine, and the such things fit the anime okay, because you're not having to read it constantly.

though personally i've never had a problem reading through the series at a decent pace, but by god it makes ya feel tired reading all that endless exposition. the yotsuba arc is actually the closest to a break from this...

and flawless is a generous term. certainly not that bad, but still a rape of a critically acclaimed manga.

on the love trouble note, there's no point thinking much on it, the series is pretty safe no matter where it is

What's to complain about. Imo HxH was far worse than death note. But yeah I agree DN felt like reading a novel.

Anyway good to see bokke is doing better but not good enough. I hope both bokke and psyren get out of that danger zone soon.

Hey, I'm not hating on the anime community as long as they don't get out of hand. I just don't like the type of people who make me look bad for liking manga. I DO read Naruto....

But yeah, sorry I will get back on topic.

Funny, Yotsuba was a low point for me. I felt volumes 5 and 11 were the weakest in the series. But anyway, we should get back on topic. XD

Odds of that chapter having many wasted panels is also 1:1.

Also I was looking back at the old ToC discussion thread. Is it me or did Jump actually serialize more titles 3-4 years ago?

Come on: Sandersonia isn't that bad...

Ranks for February...well, somehow I expected Toriko to be a bit higher but it's still vol. 3 and this is way better than a lot of other vol. 3s. And meanwhile I find it a bit weird Gintama higher than Reborn...but somehow I think it's true ability of survival is kicking in.

Toriko's rank is to be expected. While it clearly will be a big hit, maybe the biggest since Bleach, it's still only had three volumes released. It needs a little more time before it starts catching up to the big boys. By this time next year I expect it and Bakuman to have passed D. Gray Man, Reborn, and Gintama. Mago I expect to be the equal of those three, and part of the second tier, within the same time frame.

The bad ES21 covers aren't helping it's horrid state in WSJ. And Inudashi didn't even make the top 20, which saddens me. But on the bright side, the Sket Dance cover is really nice.

hopefully it'll pull a p2 (man p2 has a lot of meanings in jump terminology) and have it's last volume sell well just to piss on stuff

and toriko's broken the million circulation mark or whatnot, which is compared to other hits by heiji-sama *drags out*

Heiji-sama said:
Pour Toriko, petite comparaison :
D.Gray-man : 3 Tomes : 1 500 000
Jaguar : 3 Tomes : 1 200 000
Gintama : 3 Tomes : 1 100 000
Bastard : 3 Tomes : 1 700 000
Death Note : 3 Tomes : 3 200 000
To Love : 4 Tomes : 1 000 000
Neuro : 6 Tomes : 1 000 000
Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo : 3 Tomes : 500 000
so.... that's... pretty damn impressive

How many has One Piece, Naruto, DBZ and Bleach's third volumes sold? Just to put Toriko in perspective. XD

Glad to see Toriko selling so well and I'm in love with the Shaman King covers.

Reborn is below Gintama but the chapters in that volume weren't all that good either if I remember right. XD

i'm skeptical of toriko's position....

that and d gray suddenly being deigned the cover after having it snatched away in earlier revelations....

so... i'm half and half on this, and it's mago's fault

mediocre weeks for inudash and kuroko too...

considering inudashs low sales and occasional down turn in the toc i can see it gettign cut either at or before the 1 year mark. shame, but gag series have had pretty poor sales as of late, unless the series is called Jaguar... or Gintama... or Sket Dance... or kochikame....

okay there are exceptions, so my generalisation fails

Woo! Mago in the top five? Toriko...not in the top five? To love showing signs of life? Bad week for Sket and average week for Psyren.

I have to check which chapter of Mago's is being rated...
