Regarding Kuroko:
Should it be trying to replace Eyeshield or become a great series in time its own right? I feel like it should be the latter but it has a ways to go.

Well, it's the convenient debut at the looming end of ES21 that makes it easy to catagorize as ES21's successor. And in many cases, it might be, I mean if it becomes a great series in its own right, based on the tone of the manga it might very well replace ES21.
