So as it stands now endagered by a cut:
- bokke-san and hoop (unless that's not its real rating but kinda strange it's that low :s)
- neuro: announced ending and the climax? Does it mean an upcoming end?

It can be the announcement of a last new arc as Es21.

Stupid Mago, we talked about this: Get out of the bottom five!~ You're to good for that.

I could be wrong but I believe issue 21 will be Hoop Men's first rating. The editors placing an un - ranked series in the bottom five means it's dead; fan response has been horrific and they don't need the final returns to know it. If you remember Chagecha was in the bottom five earlier then eight weeks. The opposite was true of Beezlebub last week; placing it in the top five seems to their way of saying it's about to be a hit.

I wonder what the climax tag means. Cancellations should be upon us this month, or early next.

Damn...that sucks. Seeing Hoop bombing the hard way saddens me. I was trying to be optimistic but this week speaks volumes...

I like Hoop Men. But it doesn't seem like a Jump series. It seems a little more like the type of sports manga they run in Magazine. Definitely a good thing but maybe more then your average Eyeshield fan could handle.

I've only read a few chapters of Neuro, it is clearly one of the most original series to have graced the pages of Jump in recent years. At some point I will have to read the whole thing. To have lasted four years and get an anime is an impressive run and it's good to see it's leaving on top with center color. Hopefully Matsuei returns soon with something just as twisted. Or, better yet, returns in Young Jump with something even more twisted!

Now the wait to see what else leaves and what returns is on! Hoop Men will definitely be one. If it is going to do as bad as this week indicates it should be part of these cuts. It will have 10 chapters by the issue after Golden Week. With Bokke doing poorly and Eyeshield being endable any time, May could be a busy month.

So I guess Neuro is ending, along with either Bokke-san or Hoop. Hoop might get to survive a little longer since it's slightly newer, but if its been bombing so horrifically, they might cancel it first. Bokke-san also has the advantage of an established creator working on it, which usually gives you a little more leeway (unless your name is Hiroyuki Takei).

Also nice that Eyeshield climbed out of the basement.

SO basically I checked some previous ToCs with last year's (end) cancels and this year's cancels + series that came in place this year

End of 2007: was ended/cancelled
HxH (hiatus), Chagecha (cut #49) and Bari Haken (cut #52)
Replacements: Meister, Kuroko and Bokke

2008: was ended/cancelled:
- Round 1: Asklepios (cut #11) and Meister (cut #12)
Replacements: Beelzebub (#13) and Hoop men (#14)
- Round 2: Neuro (end #21?)
Free spot: one?

If the editors are placing Hoop Men in the bottom five three weeks before it's first fan ranking, they intend to have it out as quickly as possible. The same thing happened with Chagecha and it ended after eight chapters. At most one series can start in April, in the double issue. Thus Hoop Men will get at least nine chapters.

Yeah, I guess you're right...
That and maybe also Jump trying to launch two new Basketball manga at the same time. I had this feeling something like that wouldn't take a good ending. *lol*

Damn, shouldn't have started translating this series...doing so makes you feel attached to it too fast. : /

Yeah, the two Basketball series experiment was as big a failure as everyone here knew it would be. Shame that Kuroko, an inferior series, is the survivor.

2008: was ended/cancelled:

There will be one free space after Neuro ends. I'm sure at least one more series will be canceled in issue 22 - 23 or issue 24. Maybe another by issue 25 if there's a third series ready to start or Togashi feels like coming back.

It's great to hear that Neuro gets to leave with a color page. In my mind, it's been one of the three best Jump series (along with OP and HxH) for a loooong time - probably ever since the Hal arc, actually. It's a shame that it never got to display its worth in the ToC, but I'm glad it's being honored on its way out.

Yes! Hoop Men is in the bottom and hopefully it keeps falling all the way to the basement. Pad my other series. ^__^

Neuro ending a lot sooner than I was expecting. Then again I'm only at chapter 183. With it and possibly Hoop gone that leaves 2 other spaces. It also may signify To Love Ru can get by for a while being ranked at dead last like it is if it isn't cut.

Get back up Bokke and Mago >.<

It looks like Togashi might not come back after all. Which I don't mind so much anymore since I'm tired of his bullshit.

Good call!! It's actually two characters: Niizuma (Eiji) and (Fukuda) Shinta. It would certainly seem that it will be a Bakuman spin off.

So have there been any rumors about which new series will be comming?

Personally I'd like to see another series by the author of Pretty face and Mx0

I'd really liked if Jump started to include short series to, maybe have 1 spot open for short series that would have a planed out storyline that would be done in 10, 20 or 50 chapters, so that we could get some more fresh ideas instead of so many ending up looking simmilar in the end.

Though this is Shounen jump= Money before quallity story...(as was seen with how they keep series going even agaisnt the authors wishes)

Anyway of the canclled series the one i miss the most would be Mx0 without a doubt.(The way it ended... and Never even gained an anime :( )
Even though it reached 99 chapters

I like the short series idea. While common place with shojo and seinen I've never seen it with shonen, at least in the big three anthologies. I doubt Jump will do it, but never the less a great idea!

There hasn't been any word on Neuro's replacement. Info is usually leaked two weeks in advance of the first to debut. I'd like to see Naoshi and Tanaka make come backs.
