Re: Weekly Shounen Jump [2009] - Discussion & TOC Talk v.2
Gintama seems like Kochikame, a series that can be serialized for a long, long time. Not that I think it will; who knows if that's what Sorachi wants and Kochikame was more popular in it's prime then Gintama ever was. Realistically, if a currently popular series were to fall on hard times, my guess would be Reborn. . It's yo - yo'ing less the Gin, has had fewer bottom five appearances, but has been consistantly mediocre. Might not mean much, for either series. Plenty maintain great sales despite low rankings.

Like them or not, One Piece and Naruto are pretty impressive. After ten and twelve years they own the top two spots. Until Gintama, nothing displaced them at number one this year. Naruto is seemingly more popular now then it was this time last year.it makes one wonder how certain series remain at the top for so long...

). It's sales, while not as high as Gin and Reborn are very strong, and it is one of the few Jump series that appeals to readers over 17. Surprisingly, D. Gray Man sells a little better then all of them.
