I guess you change Inumaru and Lilienthal...
犬っ=いぬまるだしっ=Inumaru Dashii
犬=賢い犬リリエンタール=Lilienthal

I think my order is right.

Nice seeing Akaboshi not in the bottom 5 for once. But Mago is a little too low for me...prefer top 5 :p

And I still wanna read Shinigami :crying

Yeah, Raw Paradice is wrong.

Even though it is not bad, I have a feeling Hokenshitsu will become one of the regular Bottom dweller. I just can't see the series being popular.

How is Akaboshi doing well? It's sixth from the bottom. When did being a spot out of the bottom five suddenly become good?

Not good but better lol still in a bad spot but it does give a sliver of hope for the fans.

If there are 3 outs on next round, it will be Medaka, Kagijin, and Wajimania. If there are 4 outs on next round, then Akaboshi will be included.

Why Medaka, Why Waji? Akaboshi has lower average position. Akaboshi has been out of the bottom five fewer times. Akaboshi has yet to be higher then sixth from bottom.

About three of four weeks ago, Akaboshi increased massively to middle range, completely out from bottom 5. Also, Medaka is doing very bad on last few weeks.

And for Wajimania, there are already have 7 comedy series: KochiKame, Jaguar, Gintama, Sket Dance, Inumaru, Wajimain, and Lilienthal, that is too many. The editors won't let KochiKame, Jaguar, Gintama, and Sket Dance to be end, Inumaru is lowest sales in Jump series but rankings are very high so it might be safe, and Lilienthal is new series so I'm not sure what'll be happening to it by I think it is safe until next year. So, Wajimania has nothing to save it.

But, I also don't want Medaka to cancel. I wish both Medaka and Akaboshi to survive. But, I'm not sure the editors just going to cancel Kagijin and Wajimani.

I don't really have much to say this time. Its nice to see Sket Dance high this week and the top 4 aren't all that surprising. Only really care for the Toriko color but next week's colors I'll look forward too as well.

Akaboshi has been serialized for twenty weeks and eighteen issues. It has been "ranked" for twelve of those eighteen weeks. Out of those twelve weeks it has ranked in the bottom five ten times. The first time it ranked higher was issue 41, in tenth place. It immediately fell to third from bottom. Last week it fell again, now second from bottom. This week is it's second week out of the top five, rising one spot out of the basement. Akaboshi was also the lowest ranked series, other then To Love Ru, before Kagijin was poll eligible. I'm not sure how any of that is a massive improvement. Really, Akaboshi's rankings have been identical to Belmonde and Hitomi. Medaka's have been nearly the same as early Sket Dance.

Really, Akaboshi's rankings have been identical to Belmonde and Hitomi. Medaka's have been nearly the same as early Sket Dance.
Hitomi's ranking:01 11 06 12 10 10 16 10 17 13 09 19 13 20 17
Belmonde's ranking:01 11 06 12 13 09 14 11 14 15 15 19 19 20 20 20 19 20 20
Sket Dance's ranking (chapter 1~20):01 09 11 15 08 12 15 17 16 16 18 18 19 18 11 15 17 14 07 07
Medaka's ranking:01 04 08 07 09 07 09 10 11 15 14 17 16 18 18 21 19 19 15 20
Akaboshi's ranking:01 04 08 07 09 10 07 15 17 20 20 18 19 20 20 11 18 20 16

To me, Akaboshi is more similar to early Sket Dance. And Medaka is bit worse than early Sket Dance.

Akaboshi's average is lower then Hitomi's. Belmonde had better numbers until Sket Dance hit it's stride. Sket's success came at Blemonde's expense, the former rose right as the latter fell. Akaboshi has more weeks in 15th or lower than Belmonde. More weeks (barely) than Medaka at 15th or lower, quite a few more times at 20th or lower. Hitomi spent much less time then Akaboshi below 15th, only going to 20 or lower once.

I think you forgot one thing. Jump increased the number of series since 2008. On 2007, there are average 20 series in one issue, but since 2008, Jump now has average 22 series in one issue. So, actually Sket Dance are Akaboshi pretty same. Sket Dance dropped to the last weeks two weeks in a row, then saved by Belmonde, P2, and Samurai Usagi. And that goes same with Akaboshi, which dropped to last place once, and later saved by To Love-Ru, Medaka, and Kagijin.

Re: Weekly Shounen Jump [2009] - Discussion & TOC Talk v.3

Well, I can see all three series going down: Akaboshi, Medaka and Kagijin. (While I currently can't see Wajimania going anywhere - I know how bad it's received at 2ch and all...but that seems to have little to no bearing on its ToC performance up to this point.)

One just has to take a look at this "xth to last place" list which was also posted on 2ch:

Kagijin | *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* | *-*-*-*-*-4-1-1-1-1
Medaka | *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-4 | *-5-5-3-4-1-2-2-*-2
Akaboshi | *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-4-2 | 1-2-3-2-2-2-*-3-2-6
Wajimania | *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* | *-*-*-*-3-*-5-*-*-5
Kuroko | *-*-*-*-*-*-3-4-*-1 | 3-*-2-*-5-*-*-*-3-*
Psyren | *-4-*-*-*-3-*-5-2-* | *-*-*-*-*-3-*-4-5-3
Sket Dance | 5-5-5-3-*-*-4-*-*-* | *-*-*-*-*-*-3-*-4-*
Mago | 4-2-3-4-3-*-5-*-*-* | *-*-4-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
Bakuman。 | *-*-*-*-*-4-*-3-*-3 | *-3-*-4-*-*-*-*-*-*

Re: Weekly Shounen Jump [2009] - Discussion & TOC Talk v.3

Yeah, whoever said it was right, the one with the small tsu is Inumaru Dashi.

This TOC is pretty average... Akaboshi is still low even if it's not bottoming out.
It might last a bit longer but won't last a long time.

Hokenshitsu no Shinigami being 12th on only its third chapter isn't great for it. But I guess as long as it's not in the bottom five it's okay.

Gintama's been doing well, it's been in the top five the last few issues after being low for so many times. I think this corresponds to that "ranking" arc. So it makes sense.

Sket Dance is high. Maybe that whole helium thing convinced people to vote for it...

And Beelzebub and Bakuman are in the middle, which is about where you'd expect them to be.

Re: Weekly Shounen Jump [2009] - Discussion & TOC Talk v.3

All four new series (Waji, Akaboshi, Medaka, Kagijin) have pretty high chance of getting axed.
Kagijin is a given, no doubt about that.
about Waji, its "failure" is only based on our speculations and assumptions, which really have no base. Waji might actually be popular, it might not be. who knows. but I agree with the opinion that there is a very high chance that the editors are protecting the series, and I don't like the number of gag mangas WSJ is having lately.

Medaka, its been down for quite a while, and even though it had decent rank (or at least better than Akaboshi) in the beginning, its been a sinking ship lately, so I don't see the chance of MB improving its rankings, unless they do another yuri kiss or something worse :p

Now, Akaboshi is the interesting one! it was pretty bad at first, but lately, i think its the only new series that have been showing some improvement/change in its ranking, unlike MB and Kagijin thats been sitting at the bottom two spots for weeks. I think it has some chance of survival, at least higher than the other three.

Sket Dance's ranking isn't based on helium chapter, it is based on chapter 100. We will know the ranking for helium chapter at few weeks later.

Sket Dance's ranking isn't based on helium chapter, it is based on chapter 100.
Which is the reason for the high ranking, since it was their 100th chapter and they had a colour page for it.

Re: Weekly Shounen Jump [2009] - Discussion & TOC Talk v.3

Would you people stop caring about Akaboshi's past and focus on its future? Screw the first ten chapters: if it manages to stay in the top ten for several weeks until the round of cuts is due, there's no way it'll be axed, regardless of how badly it did at first.

And anyone who reads Akaboshi and has a sane mind knows "staying in the top ten for several weeks" isn't a dream anymore, with the colossal improvement of the recent chapters. Then again, I guess there's no point in stressing this out anymore; you people will only understand it once you see it happening. If the chapter with the huge knife-bird is anywhere near the bottom five, I'll give up. Wait for issue 47.

It's useless to compare the series we have now to the rankings of past series. Jump as a magazine keeps changing, for better and for worse.
