about time we got a Wendy thread.

the only character that I actually like in Alvarez arc.

can't speak for chapter 517 but she is greatly developed character and badass.

Talking about her power, she is pretty impressive when it comes to her abilities and skill, even without Dragon Force. I give her credit that, despite her young age and junior experience, she is still able to outsmart people who are well above her age.

Throughout the current arc, Wendy's capabilities and intelligence have increased significantly. Not only has she been able to stand up against several Spriggans, but she has even performed better than the majority of mages on Ishgar's side.

For the next generation of Fairy Tail, it would be pretty cool if Laxus (probably the next master) retires and gives Wendy the title of master. She'd probably be the best Guild Master candidate for the following generation, since Wendy possesses most of the qualities of a leader, in my opinion.

She's one of the view Fairy Tail members that I actually like, together with Gray, Mirajane and Laxus. I think she's immensely underrated, because the feats she gets once entering DF are honestly outstanding and quite hax. Meanwhile, DF Natsu and DF Gajeel haven't impressed me that much at all.

Really? If anything, I think people actually tend to overrate her since she got her DF. It came to a point where she was being compared to females like Erza, Mira, Kagura, and Minerva, and peole are seriously considering her to be in their tier. Try mentioning Lucy or Juvia and people will think your outrageous, but with Wendy, people actually discuss formally lol..

I don't think we'll reach to a point where Laxus would have to step down and pass the GM title. Laxus being a GM is already and EOS scenario. If anything, Wendy will be like the new Erza of the new Generation.

Although, I think at that point, I don't think there would be anyone close to her level at that point. Chelia, the only one who has the potential to rival her doesn't have magic anymore. I wonder if Romeo can close the gap in their power level in the future.

Yeah, Romeo would also be a candidate. Too bad we never got to see an Edolas version of him. We don't even get to see much of him in the Earthland dimension...

But it's true that he would become more relevant like Wendy if a new generation were to exist. I just gave the example of Wendy being GM because of her recent growth and development at such an early stage.

Fighting alongside the current generation of FT will be great experience for her future, which is why she would be a preferable candidate for the position.

Well she is the only the only candidate now but Markarov lasted for 50 years we already know gajeel and levy have kids gray and juvia definitely will and most of the other couples will most likely have kids so unless retires after just one decade (which would more than enough their probably would some competition but she definitely has what it takes she was the only one to propose enlisting a coordinated attack with the other guilds to stop face the very thing that most said should have happened. Plus she has been in a few and has a great deal of respect in others. Romeo is no where near what it would take and Marco was not a very good guildmaster from the looks of the GMGs arc

I actually think it is debatable considering recent chapters, Minerva struggled against a historia base whal who she should have had an advantage over with her magic. Mira well read my post in that battle thread, and well no one will beat Erza, but Erza would not be as well off in fight aginst Irene without Wendy and defiantly think she is not the weakest DS anymore and most non-fairy tail mages can't keep up with team natsu. I actually think she could take Minerva without DF, Kagura would be too fast and if she ever remember she has gravity magic well DF needed but doable.

Honestly probably the best developed female in the sires I hated Wendy when she first appeared but she has become my favorite fallowed by laxus, gajeel, and Erza plus a few others, but I tried writing a fanfic where she stayed instead of going to Tenrou and after reading the Avatar arc realized I could not scale that, the Sprigans should worship Mest as their savior because wendy has scary potential just give a few years.

Do any of you think this theory I posted in the 517 discusion thread holds water I've always thought that Wendy's gentle nature sorta of limits her attacking power, in a mental block. I mean if the power of feelings can increase your magic then why can't the distaste of hurting people limit your attack power? after all their seems to be a sizable difference between Wendy's defensive feats and her attacks this arc, then we she what miss psychopath can do with Wendy's power which from commentary seems to have been simply returned to full.

Actually, I think being stucked for 7 years is actually an advantage for Wendy. If she stayed outside and grew up, I imagine she would just end up as an average mage. I mean look what happened with the FT fodders. With the 7 year timeskip, Wendy had the oppurtunity to participate at GMG, fought a dragon first hand, defeated a Tartarus demon, and fight Spriggan level opponents at the age of 12-13. The experince she gained/will gain will make her way stronger in the future instead of just growing normally. I mean, a 12 yr old kid who fought top tier opponents, and a 12 yr old kid who grew an average life, it's obvious who would be the stronger when they grew older. Which makes me think that logically, Wendy should be unmatched when she reaches her prime.

Wendy has always been a decent character in my eyes. The rest of the guild rubbed off on her, especially her team... she went from a shy/timid person to pretty much a badass. Tartarus and this arc she has shined the most in the guild (in Tartarus it was Gray/Lucy/Wendy; and so far this arc Wendy has been an MVP candidate). I like the expressions Wendy has when she's giving it her best... like in 476 and 516. And this page was epic from both Sherria and Wendy when taking on Chronos (the best fight of the arc so far imo).

But I probably forget Wendy a bit sometimes, I don't know why. Perhaps because she is a loli I don't take her as serious as I should.

Carla is a problem for me, I think she's the most annoying exceed by a mile.

I mean look what happened with the FT fodders. With the 7 year timeskip, Wendy had the oppurtunity to participate at GMG, fought a dragon first hand, defeated a Tartarus demon, and fight Spriggan level opponents at the age of 12-13. I am not sure if you advocating the pressure cooker method of development that they are taking right now or saying Wendy would lose her charm? Wendy would almost deffiently loss a lot of her charm, but all of that stuff would still happen to her as long as she was on team Natsu the only thing that she would really miss out on would be the hades fight (which was great moment for all of team natsu diffidently one of my a favorite fights) plus the fairy fodder foddernized Natsu until 2nd origin which Wendy would have likely still got as Jelall has been a supporter of hers and probably would have kept touch.

All I ment was if you look at the timeline then the most time that Wendy could have spent in the guild before it was disbanded was six months Laxus arc took place Oct 15, timeskip happened Dec 16 we got dates for this Wendy probably joined probably towards the end of the month which means a month and a half is all it took to get her fight Hades. they get about two weeks before the GMGs because of Lucy's spirits july 1-7 GMGs since sporting events are held close to the same time every year Tatorus has happen quick probably by the end of the month which if that is right two moths in fairy tail and a year in Lamia Scale where she looks to be S-class brings Wendy to this point. My point was that given the math and the growth rate when I tried scale what her power would be well I arrived at the conclusion that she would ether be taken out by Aconlogia or taturous (talking about all at once) by 16 out of fear or basically fighting Acnologia on even footing during this war. I love Wendy as is but I don't think that the fairy verse could handle Wendy with five years and 6-8 months of extra training. Erza 2.0 will make Erza look like carla, her feats are way better as a kid even in Manga it is hard to find a 13-14 year who can stare down some of the oldest gods like they're just any old bully epic

Ok I see what you are saying but you are not accounting for two things one with the people that typicly protect her gone and the likely hood that Wendy around that that time would probably rank around 15th-17th out of the cast with other 16 mission goeres could she not be forced into a situation to do that any way. But baring that what you are saying makes perfect sense, actually it still makes sense all I ment was wendy is basically the villains better be glad Wendy is still a kid

You summed up my feelings about Wendy and Carla perfectly. It's like i don't even have to post here anymore. Thanks, i was lazy anyway.

She is a great character in my opinion.She went from a timid girl to a badass girl who is willing to do everything for her guild.


I think she has some great future.She has potential poowerlevel to be a top-tier fighter.She will have a role against Acnologia.I really love her.She is a Team Natsu member and she is part of Natsu,Lucy,Happy and Carla team.

I actually wouldn't mind to see her fight solo battles, just like other FT members. I also agree that she probably deserves some role against Acnologia along with Natsu, Gajeel, and the other dragon slayers. Since, so far in the series, humans have not been able to defeat a strong dragon.

Out of Team Natsu though, then she has probably become one of my favorites. Her fight in Tenrou, GMG, Tartaros, and the current arc were all badass, in my opinion.

I agree, logically, Wendy should be one of the most powerful mages in her generation when she is fully grown. She can fight, heal, and support (enchant). That's 3 completely different types of fighting styles, and right now, it looks like she is gonna eventually master all 3...

After the Alvarez Arc, the most likely arc would be Acnologia's arc. If that happens, then I'm not sure if Wendy will get to solo an opponent, but she will definitely be a key factor in helping the other DS take down Acnologia.

Although, I've personally always wanted a "Fairy Tail Civil War" arc, where we would see FT members takes sides and duke it out among themselves. But, the "power of friendship theme" is going to kind of get in the way of that...

If an FT Civil War were to happen, then Wendy would have many chances of soloing an opponent. That's what I would like to see, but it's extremely unlikely.

Lol and what would be the cause of Civil War? To kill or not to kill Natsu-END?

As for Wendy's relevance in Acno's arc, I think she just acquired the ability this chapter.

Soul Ripping

Acno became strong because he can rip the souls of dragons. And Wendy just learned how to remove "personalities/soul in a body". There's also Milky Way who can summon dragon souls. I'd say Wendy already has tools to be relevant in fighting Acno aside from direct combat obviously.
