He is a God himself

A God of magic and have God Form, like Irene dracon Form )

If August is a God who would be able to fight August since the only magic that can deal with Gods are God Slayer Magic. By a God of Magic you mean a God who possesses the One Magic. Through that would question why Zeref has a God as a member as the spriggan 12 since Zeref was cursed Ankhseram who is a God.

I want August to just be a normal, very old and wise human, too, who just happens to be a very powerful Mage ( If not the 3rd most powerful on Earth besides Acnologia and Zeref).

But if he has a Secret, maybe it will be seen in his Magic:

Maybe he went to the End of the Abyss of Magic (like Purehito did / tried) and achieved it all (since he is capable of wielding more Magic than even Zeref himself and said to have mastered every Magic there is, maybe even powerful Lost Magic).

Maybe he can even use Urano Meteoria (wich Lucy achieved and learned through Hibiki) or even the One who can use Unison Raid all by himself if not even the Founder of the Abyss Break Spell (wich may be used in a unearthly scale to wipe the entire Continent of Ishgar off the Map).

It's August's turn.... I don't hope too much. I am just curious to see his magic and how he performs in a battle (more than him vs CS). I like his relationship and interactions with Brandish. That was such warm moment of family interaction between a grandfather and a granddaughter.

Some considerations to think about August's character

He is one of Spriggans (the other is Brandish) that have different mindset. (Both are negotiable)

Together with Serena and Jacob, he destroyed Bosco.

He knew that 12 Shields to Zeref is like pawns to king. Alvarez is a military-based kingdom. Soldiers are trained to obey their leader no matter what.

Gets angry when someone is not serious in front of him.

Likes friendship (protecting Ajeel, respecting Serena, asking Jacob's condition)

Didn't kill CS wizards

August's race
Not ruling out other chance of him being non-human, but for now he is human I think. Him being strongest Spriggan despite the fact that Irene is a dragon is the way sensei wants to show that human will eventually be the top race in FTverse, I guess.

August the last shield remained undefeated. Now with Irene committing suicide, The chance of August self-destroy got minimized. I still think that Jellal will stand on his feets again and do something to weakened August at least.

It'd be awfully unfair to Jellal if August used Abyss Break. Irene already stole Heavenly Body Magic please let Jelly have something

Half of me wants Brandish to fight August. Just to see her not be a scrub. But also I don't want this because Brandish will likely get throttled to give members of a certain guild more glory.

Shakuma was the grandfather of Lucia in Rave Master.So there ia pssibilty that August is somehow related to the Dragneel Family.As i already said there was an empty chair in the Dragneel family room.


Now i am not going into the debate of whether it will be good or bad,just predicting.

They are in the same group as Rufus and Orga from Saber meaning not 100% fodder but 0 plot relevance means their only role in the story is to get owned.

August secret is that he can absorb or steal deceased mages abilities (God Serena is inside me) and August biggest weakness is that after he is heavily beaten he starts losing (other mages absorbed powers) and that makes August significantly weaker...

The question is if August is related to the Dragneel Family how is August related to the Dragneel Family, Natsu and Zeref's uncle? Knowing Mashima he'll have Natsu and Lucy fight August like Elie and Haru. Unless Mashima wants a tag team to fight August and I don't see Laxus/Gildarts/Jellal happening since Gildarts doesn't know Jellal and Mashima only has others team up with other if they have a connection with each other. So I'm leaning towards the continuation of Jellal and Crime Sorciere vs August if Hiro does a tag team fight. Also there has to be a character to parallel Acelia Raregroove who Lucia saw as a mother figure/second mother even though she was his ancestor. Acelia traveled back in time to when humanly wasn't destroy which means the character to parallel Acelia would have to be a character who travel to the 300 or 400 years in the future (since some things must be different) and must have been a mother figure/second mother to Zeref and who would either be Natsu and Zeref's aunt or cousin.

Very interesting that he might steal or weakens magic. On the other hand he attacks Magnolia from on top of Karda Cathedral, where Yuri began his attack on Magnolia whilst inhabiting an apparently etherious Dragon corpse. What do you think this means.

The one hyped to be the most powerful mage, knowing every magic, only undefeated Sprigga whose hype is left intact so far. You want him to have Nakama Power as well?!
I sure would like it a lot, but that would be a little too much for only one character

So here is a thought. Was August actually a construct like Zera, a "fairy of origin" created in Mavis's heart in response to her loss of zeref, like a son. Like zera he was able to exist until she became consciously aware of his existence, which happened to be right when he was going to cast that spell, then he disappears.
