Hello! everyone.
There's something that has been on my mind for very long and I want to share it now.
As per the other Dragons and our own experience, Igneel when at his full, orginal strength could have defeated Acnologia, still he DIDN'T defeat Acnologia 400 years ago when he was at full power. Even when he had little power he fought pretty much toe-to-toe to him and Acnologia exclaimed that Igneel was a remarkable enemy in a way that implied that it was the first time they had fought.And we know that ALL the Dragons (Incl. Igneel) were Half-dead.
There arises a interesting point here,
If Acnologia never fought Igneel, then Who is responsible for "half-killing" Igneel?
Could it be that it has something to do with Natsu?
Even though the Dragons said it was Acnologia, it could be different in at least the case of Igneel. Maybe they tried to hide it for some reason. (E.g. Keeping Natsu from getting hurt.)
P.S. Of course, There can be some other reason for this stuff but I like my theory most, Prolly cuz its my theory.
