So I'm the only one who read XXXholic whitout readind TRC, which I plan to start reading.
Just a curiosity, if someone as already read Card captor Sakura, do you think Watanuki is equal/same to Eriol?

I thought that a while back because someone posted somewhere that they had a resemblance. And with Clamp having crossovers here there and everywhere i wouldnt be surprised if they did have a connection.

The problem is

that in Card Captor Sakura Eriol is the reincarnation of Clow Reed

so if Watanuki "is" Eriol I don't know what to think.

Well Yuuko has taken a big interest in Watanuki and so has Syaoran. And its also been hinted in one of the very first chapters that he has 'magical blood'

Yes, but that could meaning that they are blood related not that they are the same person.

We've got a few "Clow Reed" descendants in TRC already, so why can't Watanuki be another one of those?

What confuses me is: if Watanuki is the reincarnation of Clow Reed how Eriol was in Card Captor Sakura.

Well if the place of Clows reincarnation is already taken by Eriol, then we must be wrong about Watanuki.

When I started reading XXXholic I immediately thought that Watanuki was equal to Eriol, so he was the reincarnation of Clow Reed in the XXXholic world. The successive events convinced me I was right, then I read the arc about the spider and the eyesight loss; and I thought it was a strange development. So I started pondering and after searching for imagines of Watanuki and Eriol I was very confused. Now I think that even if it was clearly hinted that in Watanuki lies a great but dormant power or he is the the key to it, the relationship between Watanuki and Clow Reed isn't the only possible explanation of the hints which the manga gave.

Well i dont know if Watanuki is a decendant or reincarnation of Clow reed. i have had the own theory my self, but somehow i just feel that it would be too "stupid" from a writers point of view to have another Clow reed reincarnation or decendant Running around. I mean for him to be all powerfull he would have to be from the Clow reed Yuuko know right? (that man must have been busy with aleast 2 known decendants) (Remember the Clow reed who is Sakura's dad in tsubasa is ANOHTER clow reed) I just dont believe / want to believe that Watanuki is yet another decendant of him

I would believe so.

But Watanuki has something to do with clow reed. That would explain his attracting-monsters aura. And that would explain his connection to Syaoran. But the odd thing was that Yuuko said something like: "don't worry. He won't disappear from your heart".

The problem is it was a site using the chinese raws for Edited Manga .

EDIT: but the translation seemed weird some places.. maybe I can scanlate it. but it won't be as high quality as that one.
