19. D. Gray-man - I'm having a falling-out with the direction the series is going in, but I still follow it if only for the characters.
20. Naruto - It's been boring me for the past 100 some chapters for some reason...but I give it credit since I haven't dropped it yet

Ya know just 'cause i'm indecisive and constantly expand my favourites I'll take another crack at this (read as 'take about a fiftieth crack at this')

1. Ode to Kirihito - Osamu Tezuka
Bugger me, bought this a while back, and it really is one of the deepest most thrilling manga about. A Tezuka masterpiece for sure!
2. Shiki - Ryu Fujisaki
Still thrilling a fair bit into it's run in SQ, and is a brilliant adaptation of it's source material by any means. Not to mention Fujisaki's art!
3. One Piece - Eiichiro Oda
If you haven't fallen so deeply in love with this series (especially with recent events) then you truly are a monster. On a weird trend of introducing nice girl characters too! Not that that matters, just an interesting trend.
4. Pyuu to Fuku! Jaguar - Usuta Kyosuke
There is no funnier gag manga series at present. Solid gold fact!
5. Sket Dance - Shinohara Kenta
But if there was it'd be this slice-of-life-and-then-some series!
6. Hot Gimmick - Miki Aihara
Emotional pain encapsulated in the most heart wrenching series EVER without a doubt.
7. Doraemon - Fujiko Fujio
Well it's doraemon, legendary and fun!
8. Space Adventure Cobra[/] - Buichi Terasawa
Still occasionally going now, it sure knows how to carry it's tone to a level of perfection, and there's something so admirable in how Cobra is (the character).
9. Matsuri Special - Yoko Kamio
A modern classic in SQ in my opinion, never failing to enthrall me!
10. Beet the Vandel Buster - Riku Sanjo & Koji Inada
With Inada still out of commision two years into it's painful hiatus, I can't help but look back and love every second of this classic shonen series.
11. I"S - Masakazu Katsura[/]
Shonen Romance done to a level of excellence.
12. Hatsukoi Limited - Mizuki Kawashita
See above really, on a smaller scale.
13. Eyeshield 21 - Yusuke Murata and Riichiro Inagaki
On the way out, and i swear to god it's letting us all know in style!
14. Zetman - Masakazu Katsura
My favourite Seinen, simply because it's just so absolutely enjoyable.
15. THREE WAY TIE!
Kinnikuman, Kinnikuman Nisei, Kinnikuman Nisei Ultimate Chojin Tag - Yudetamago
Go on, YOU tell me which is better. All are classic in their own rights (heck one still isn't even done!)

1. Flame of Recca by Anzai Nobuyuki [Shounen, 33 volumes complete]
- All time favorite. Wicked fights, lots of comedy, gorgeous art by the last third of the series.

2. Fruits Basket by Takaya Natsuki [Shoujo, 23 volumes complete]
- Only Shoujo I like...actually I love this series! Best character development! A LOT darker than the anime would lead you to believe, thank goodness.

3. Fullmetal Alchemist by Arakawa Hiromu [Shounen, 88 chapters, ongoing monthly]
- Awesome story and great characters. I wish it wasn't published monthly, however... The anime completely deviated from the manga storyline after the introduction of Greed.

4. History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi by Matsuena Syun [Shounen, ongoing, 255 chapters translated so far]
- I love this series so much. It has great martial arts battles, and is also freaking hilarious! I also love the anime (covers up to ch143), so I truly hope they continue it, because what happens in the manga afterwards is epic.

5. 666 Satan by Kishimoto Seishi (twin brother of Naruto's mangaka) [Shounen, 19 volumes complete]
- I read this series in one shot, without a break...it was that good. I loved the story, the characters, and the epic battles between the Angels, Demons, and O.P.T.s (O-Part Technicians). I really really hope this gets made into an anime.

6. Bleach by Kubo Tite [Shounen, 332 chapters, ongoing weekly]
- Great cast of characters, good story, awesome fights, very detailed world.

7. Yu Yu Hakusho by Togashi Yoshihiro [Shounen, 19 volumes complete]
- Great plot, tons of great fights, and my all-time favorite character, Urameshi Yusuke. It was made into my favorite anime of all time.

8. Rurouni Kenshin by Watsuki Nobuhiro [Shounen, 28 volumes complete]
- Awesome fights, gorgeous art, compelling and emotional story, and a kickass main character.

9. Hunter x Hunter by Togashi Yoshihiro [Shounen, 285 chapters, ongoing weekly]
- Very interesting story idea, great action, and awesome Nen ability system. Very spotty releases though, mangaka is sick.

10. Ranma 1/2 by Takahashi Rumiko [Shounen, Comedy, 38 volumes complete]
- Funniest series....ever.

11. Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle by CLAMP [Shounen, 203 chapters, ongoing weekly]
- Great story, wicked plot twists, and gorgeous art.

12. Tenjho Tenge by Oh! Great [Seinen, 118 chapters, ongoing monthly]
- Great fights, gorgeous art, and really cool power/ki system.

13. InuYasha by Takahashi Rumiko [Shounen, 56 volumes complete]
- Great story, great action, and a little shoujo thrown in for good measure.

14. Naruto by Kishimoto Masashi [Shounen, 423 chapters, ongoing weekly]
- Great characters, awesome story, great fights.

15. Death Note by writer Ohba Tsugumi and illustrator Obata Takeshi [Shounen, 13 volumes complete]
- Kept me riveted with the cat and mouse mind games.

16. Dragon Ball by Toriyama Akira [Shounen, 42 volumes complete]
- Best classic fighting series! It's over 9000!

17. Claymore by Yagi Norihiro [Shounen, 85 chapters, ongoing monthly]
- Great idea, cool characters, wicked fights.

18. MÄR by Anzai Nobuyuki [Shounen, 15 volumes complete]
- Don't let the anime fool you! This is a wicked fighting series, with gorgeous art.

19. Hikaru no Go by writer Hotta Yumi and illustrator Obata Takeshi [Shounen, 23 volumes complete]
- I'm not sure why I like this series so much.... I just do.

20. Gravitation by Murakami Maki [Shounen-ai, Comedy, 12 volumes complete]
- Funny as hell, no matter how many times I read it. Be warned, the manga has a LOT more Shuichi x Yuki action than the anime!


Can you tell I like Shounen? Yeesh, I read a lot...

Since i recently hit the 300 manga mark, i will redoo my top 20 manga list with a few changes:

1st. Berserk - by Miura Kentaro(Seinen)
Like i said before Berserk is the perfect story, the greatest drawings i have ever seen in a manga, amazing story with tons of shocking plot twists, and what makes Berserk the greatest is the emotinal bagage, it´s amazing, sometimes i have to stop reading, get up from my chair and walk aroud my room a litle, this is a manga that never has a happy ending, but it´s not rushed or anything, everything is made with amazing mastery.

2nd. One Piece - by Eichiiro Oda(Shonen)
I have read tons and tons of shonen manga, and what hooked me on One Piece was the fact that it´s diferent from all the other repetitive shonen manga, and it´s impossible that you don´t choose one of the 9 straw hats as at least one of your top 5 manga characters.

3rd. Hajime no Ippo - by Jyoji Morikawa(Shonen)
Tons of great action, comedy and drama, everytime we see Takamura we laugh, the most comic character i have ever seen, and the Battle of the Hawks and Sendo vs Ippo II are the greatest batles ever.

4th. Eyeshield 21 - by Riichiro Inagaki and Yusuke Murata(Shonen)
This is the manga of the most unique character, Hiruma Youichi, he is not the main character, but he is the one that make this manga such a hit in a time when sport mangas are not seen with good eyes in Japan. This is also the manga of my all time favorite character Shin Seijuurou.

5th. Slam Dunk - by Takehiko Inoue(Shonen)
I hate basket, but this manga is amazing, just like ES21 and Hajime no Ippo, it have great drama, comedy and characters, and of course the great Sakuragi Hanamichi.

6th. Change Guy - by Son Eun-ho and Choi Myung-su(Shonen)
This is a Korean manhwa, about a strong guy(Kang Too-Jee) who acidentaly switches body´s with a weakling named Woo So-Choi, now they both have to learn to live with their new bodies. This is a story mostly about fighting and evolution, a great reading for action fans.

7th. Great Teacher Onizuka - by Tohru Fujisawa(Shonen)
I love this story, it´s true that there are tons of mangas about teachers who will change the way of life of their students(like Rookies or Gokusen), but none has the greatness of GTO, and the one thing that makes GTO such a hit is Eiikichi Onizuka, the gorila like deliquent who wants to be a teacher lolol.

8th. Worst - by Hiroshi Takahashi(Shonen)
This is the sequel of Crows, a new year begins and Suzuran have new faces, so new rivaleries and batles are about to happen in the school of Crows, Suzuran High.

9th. Crows - by Hiroshi Takahashi(Shonen)
This is the prequel of Worst, and the first story about the school of Crows, Suzuran Hign, Bouya Harumichi just transfered to Suzuran as a Sophmore, and he takes the school by rampage when he becomes enemy of Hideto Bando. As well as Worst, this manga has tons of funny and serious moments, and i love deliquent stories lolol.

10th. Shounan Jou´nai Gumi - by Tohru Fujisawa(Shonen)
Another deliquent manga, this time featuring the hero of GTO Eiikichi Onizuka and his best friend Dama Ryuji, they are the OniBaku and together with their comic but reliable OniBaku Gumi they are about to take out all the oposing deliquents and...loose their verginity´s lolol.

11th. Gantz - by Hiroya Oku(Seinen)
An adult manga full of gore and sx scenes, about a bunch o guys who died but sudenly ressurected to fight agains aliens in special suits with amazing guns, they nedd to kill enough aliens in order to gain the freedom from the one who resurected them.

12th. Naruto - by Masashi Kishimoto(Shonen)
A good shonen, with ok main characters, but with greaty secondary characters(Neji, Lee, Gaara, Shikamaru, etc)

13th. Bleach - by Kubo Tite(Shonen)
This is a very clichê like shonen action manga, but i don´t know why but i´m really hooked to it.

14th. Unbalance x Unbalance - by Soo-Hyon Lee and Dall-Young Lim(Shonen)
Another Korean manhwa, about a student who falls in love with his teacher, it´s the greatest Shonen romance, it doesn´t have the clichê we usually see in titles like: Love Hina, Ichigo 100%, I´´s or Suzuka.

15th. Hokuto no Ken - by Buronson and Tetsuo Hara(Shonen or Seinen)
This is a manga about a man named Kenshiro, heir of the legendary assassin martial art Hokuto Shinken, that in a post-appocaliptical world will make justice with his own hands, punishing all the villains(Omae wa mou Shindeiru!!)

16th. Katakyou Hitman Reborn by Akira Amano(Shonen)
I really love it, italian mafia in Japan may sound cheesy, but not at all after you read this manga, Tsuna together with his 6 guardians and Reborn take out all the cheesy feeling you get from any review of this manga.

17th. Holyland - by Mori Kouji(Seinen)
The story of a guy who is bullied everyday on school, he thinks he lost his place in society, but after starting training boxing to be able to sleep well, he becomes stronger and acidentaly gets in a fight with some street tugs, now he has to retrieve his place in society. This manga is a seinen, so it doesn´t have the cheesy situations we usually see in this kind of story(Hajime no Ippo, HSD Kenichi, etc), it´s a very deep story.

18th. Vagabond - by Takehiko Inoue(Seinen)
This is the manga version of the story of the legendary japanese samurai Myamoto Musashi, a man who lived by the way of the sword, i love this kind of stories.

19th. Bakuman - by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata(Shonen)
I can´t explain why, but this manga with just 7 chapters has hooked me, never since Berserk a manga gave me this feeling, i think that this is gonna be a huge huge manga in the future.

20th. Claymore - by Norihiro Yagi(Seinen)
Claymore is like the litle sister of Berserk, a really good story that takes place in the medieval time´s(just like Berserk), if you like Berserk, then Claymore is the kind of title that you want to follow.
