I see my tastes are fairly different from the rest of the community. I think I'm so far one of the only people aside from one other person who didn't list Naruto, One Piece, Bleach or Death Note in my top ten.

Yeah, One Piece fell off my list. Sorry, but I'm just not getting into it much lately.

Good to see you're reading Whistle mate. It's highly addictive. Yeah, I only read Vol 1 of One Piece and I'm sorry, but I just can't see what all the fuss is about. Should I give it another chance or what? The other manga that has failed to sustain my attention is D Gray Man. It just seems extremely unoriginal, as though it has spliced together many different mangas, most noteably, Bleach and Trigun and little bit of Godchild.

Yeah, I only read Vol 1 of One Piece and I'm sorry, but I just can't see what all the fuss is about.

Yeah, I'd recommend giving One Piece another shot. It's a very fun series but it does take a while to get the story going. I'd say the manga really kicks in around volume 9. If you still don't like it by that point, you should probably just drop it.

Yeah, ignoring One Piece after reading only 1 volume is the worst thing you can do.
The story hasn't even started, like Dranxis says: at least read 10 volumes. Thats when the real adventure is about to kick off, and the preceding volumes are some of the best in the entire series. Arlong Park rocks hard.

Most of the times a series first volume doesnt interest me at all. One Piece was "average" during the first 2/3 volumes imo, D.Gray-Man's first volume took a lot of willpower to get through AT ALL! But those series really made up for it in the end. One Piece actually started for me after Arlong Park yeah, mostly the "newest" large arcs are the best in my opinion ( Alabasta, Skypiea, Water7 ). So yeah, you should read it all, for great justice!

One Piece begins at chapter 100. Everything before that is just the lengthy and very necessary introduction for an epic.

ranking HxH lower for the terrible jump drawings makes no sense
Togashi re-draws those chapters when he releases the entire volume for retail. And those look even better than his early artwork.
Nexgear also releases those volumes btw, they just released v23, with the good drawings.

He/She's been seriously ill for a long time and therefor not able to release in time mostly. Also the cause for the crappy artworks every now and then, read Pwned's post a few posts up.

Srry, didnt read those :P Yeah I know but... people say he's just too lazy and uses illness as an excuse since it's been there for a long time, I personally don't know. But still, no chapter for a loooong time and not-so-good drawings makes me rate it lower than...yes... Raruto (e.g. look at kish. He releases high quality from first release :S).

Oh and what's wrong with Raruto? :P

2. One Piece - the drawing is unique and love the story
3. Bleach - interesting concept full of suprises
4. GTO - loved the ending, loved how he solved all his problems
5. Ichigo 100% - so many women, it was funny and deep
6. Eyeshield 21 - i love football, and how its drawn is amazing
7. Flame of Recca - loved the whole manga, first one i read entirely through
8. Gantz - nice characters, interesting concept, interesting way of making the manga
9. Rurouni Kenshin - love samurais
10. Trigun - vash is the best shooter

Guess ya're right. At least Raruto doesn't have 60 episodes of anime like Hunter X Hunter does (it does have 1!!!!)
