I for one think it’s giving us way too much if Zoro fights King.

I’m pretty content with the showings in the rooftop. Zoro reached his limits trying to stand up against 2 Yonkou’s attacking and still was pivotal in the fight afterwards.

I would always love more. But at this point I would like to see other characters shine. If Oda does keep the hype train running. I suspect King will showcase more of what he has to other against someone else. & Zoro probably pulls out Asura again for a 1 hit K.O

honestly? king will be pretty tired after fighting marco. Zoro's feats are much much much better then first commanders currently. I doubt many first commanders would be standing after taking a double yonko named attack. I'm sure they would of atleast lived if law teleported them out at the same time. But i'm pretty sure besides marco( Only due to DF) and ben beckman(most hyped) that any of the other commanders would of been standing after that. Besides ben beckman i also can't see any of the yonko commanders including marco then managing to scar a yonko. A tired king seems like an easy match up for a half dead current zoro. His feats are much better and zoro is known for fighting to a high quality being half dead. A unique properity of him i wouldn't apply to most fighters. As such i think half dead=tired for most fighters and with superior feats i just have to say zoro would medium dif king. Infact i could even see another hype zoro moment when zoro 1 shots king. Reason? kaido one shot luffy who at the time was first yonko commander level. Now zoro isn't at kaido level but he's 70-80% there and tired yonko commander is easier to 1 shot.

Nah

Luffy in this arc has managed to grow a lot. Zoro needs the same. Remember, he is bound to fight Mihawk, he needs moments like these to surpass himself.

I genuinely do hope Marco manages to somehow heal him so he can go back to the rooftop. After his displays, it would be a waste to have Zoro Senpai face King.

A nearly dead Zoro is good for us Zoro fans cause this means one thing. He will get a power up soon. I predict is haki will continue to grow in his current state then he will come back stronger. Hopefully he gets the chance to use CoC to knock out some fodders while resting and then learn how to coat his swords with CoC and go back to the rooftop to help Luffy.

I don't think Luffy will get any more help from now on. Zoro may still do one or two things in this arc but Kaido is likely off the table for him or anyone else now that Luffy has declared an official 1v1.

Zoro has grown a lot also....To maybe he’s commander lv to.....Top commander feats having no difficulty in between

I wouldn’t be mad if Zoro gets another fight. I need him to be healed in any sort of way..Whther it’s law; Chopper; or Marco..He needs some sort of medical attention or bandaging up.

If not I’m gonna assume bias from Oda that he really loves to draw Zoro just being a badass almost more than Luffy is.

Agreed. I don’t see anyone else helping out with Kaido vs Luffy anymore: it’s solely their 1

So.. latest episode has Zoro doing a COC flex to knock out Kaido's subordinates. Pretty cool.

Is it? I haven't seen the scene since I don't watch the anime but as a Zoro fan I'm sure it will be hype.

However, other than the scene being anime only (which already should mean it's not a solid confirmation), how does that scene even work? Doesn't it rise too many questions?:
- When and how did he discover CoC and how did he master its use? If he's learnt it with Mihawk and he's had it all alone why hadn't he used it before?
- How would the exchange with Kaido make sense if he knows he has CoC? "Don't tell me... you also have CoC?!" "I don't know".

Unless Zoro was pressured and used it accidentaly?

He waterboards someone with beer than COC flexes a few others.
Was an odd way to do this but between this and Kaido… Zoro probably has COC. “Not cannon” arguments don’t usually work for things as big as that.

Alright, just watched the scene, thanks for the link. He seems super proficient at its use. I mean, the moment is cool, but I would really prefer it not to be canon and get to see how Zoro actually discovers and masters CoC in the manga, or at least a hint of him already having it. The discovery part seems to have happened just too recently against Kaido. Either that or Asura has always been a form of CoC as I have seen some theorise.

I'm both a defender of "anime is never canon" and a defender of "Zoro has CoC and Kaido felt it".
So regardless of the scene I agree: Zoro has CoC.

As one who has made his views very clear on where I stand with Zoro and CoC, I do not think for a second Toei did this without consulting Oda. There are spoiler and there are SPOILERS and this is a big one, especially since it sort of ruins Zoro acting like he didn't know he had it. So they are going to have to change his later "usage" of it... it also ruins the Brook joke wondering if the earthquake was cause by Zoro's CoC and Zoro sighing and saying he can't to it.

In the end it looks like Zoro does have basic CoC, which I was never against but Oda went out of his way to make it a vague as possible.

Like I said, I don't think Toei did this without consulting Oda so my arguments henceforth will be with the stance that Zoro does at least have basic CoC.

The anime scene was certainly badass, but I would have preferred it stay truer to the manga.

zoro definitely has coc, chapter 1010 is already clear on that. Some people just don't want to admit it.

We remember that scene I bolded differently. Zoro said it was obviously not him causing the earthquake, but he never said anything about not being capable of CoC.

I would have also preferred if the anime stood truer to the manga, though. It's the manga that should have given us a clear hint or proof of his CoC before the Kaido fight, not the anime.

What does basic CoC? Do you mean the one that could be use to knock out fodder? And the "advance" one is the one luffy and kaido use to coat their attack?
I am now wondering, is that what kaido mean with his question to zoro with Zoro's last attack in the roof top fight? Do zoro are also using the advance Coc one to cut kaido and will leave a scar in his body? Because that's the only way to really cut kaido (and leave a scar) and nothing else...

I doubt Oda deep in the animation/storyboard process. Even if he gave the go ahead, there's no telling how he thought the scene would be portrayed.

Normally, when one uses CoC for the first time, it's clearly an action the individual isn't aware of. That's the general intro signs of the ability. He's not stupid, has witnessed the ability first hand several times, and has knowledge about the ability. He and Sanji were the first to recognize Luffy's mastery of it at Fishman Island. So for him to do this, only to later be unsure, I'd say that's a contradiction.

He has it, but the anime did a piss poor job of "teasing" it.

That's the problem the anime presented. Zoro specifically targeted 4 individuals. That's MASTERFUL control of haki, not even Luffy showed such control until after the time skip.

It's one thing to be able to use CoC another to use it in a controlled way.

And for Zoro to brush off Brook's comment and then to again claim he has "no idea" what Kaido is talking about is just foolish. Either he's more clueless than originally thought or he's just a straight up liar for the sake of lying. Neither seem right so in my opinion this is a net negative for anime only watchers. Not only are Zoro's scenes going to play out differently it ruins the hype of the Rooftop scene when Zoro cuts Kaido, kaido asks if he is a coc user and then Zoro says... I don't know what your talking about(after such controlled usage of it). It can't play out that way now, or it can but will be stupid.

And I'm actually pulling a nik and moe here but on reddit, worstgen, AP etc... the feeling is the same for the vast majority. Toei made Zoro's coc more confusing than it did to foreshadow what is going to happen, which I am sure that's what they were going for

Yeah it was a weird way to introduce the idea that he has COC. I mean, ever since COC was introduced I've always assumed Zoro would have it just due to his ambitions. The fact that it contradicts his dialogue with Kaido is weird, but Zoro is kind of sassy in fights so it could just be that he was being difficult.

PS: I endure mild confusion every time you change your display name.

Welp, saw the scene with zoro using CoC in the anime. A few takeaways:

1.- The OP animation remains shit. The studio should be ashamed but unfortunately people are all too willing to consume garbage animation. So I suppose the ones that should be ashamed are viewers.

2.- Oh god, why is there so little animation in this? Why even bother bringing this up in a manga forum?

3.- It happened in the anime so the debts of the irrelevance of this scene knows no bounds. What remains in a tissue when I blow my nose is probably more canon than anything this garbage anime has ever produced.
