Hey, listen! (/watch?v=KN1WlLVoHSQ)
Kaido is too strong for Zoro but, what if Moria arrives to Wano and infuses Zoro with 100 samurai shadows?
¡Nightmare Zoro = Awaken Asura!

While it would be interesting, Zoro's body couldn't handle shadows to the degree in which Luffy could as his body is far stronger than Zoro's and the Rubber properties of his
make up certainly helps.

Moria seems fine when using shadows to engorge himself though. Zoro should be fine if he is given shadows like that. Though I don't expect it to happen.

Moriah is fine because its his own body utilizing his own powers. Its even stated a human body wouldnt be able to handle a large amount of shadows.

If i recall, Luffy took in 30-50 shadows and that was deemed impossible. (I'll have to reread the manga to be sure.

Zoro took more considering he took on all what Luffy took on in TB on top of his own...
Handling shadows requires strong will-power and Zoro is the best when it comes to that.
It is clear since chapter 3, afaik.

Yeah see? Way too much for Zoro to handle. He might be able hold 50 max.

Luffy's being a CoC user speak to his will power being > Zoro's

Alternatively, Zoro could team up with Hawkins and Hakwins could use his predictions to help Zoro.

That would make it possible for Zoro to fight with Kaido in a believable way.

I think the implications is that Moriah could only hold 1,000 shadows because he's enormous, and Luffy could handle 100 shadows because his rubber body can change shape. I also suspect Moriah modified his body to handle more shadows, and that's why there's a scar on his neck.

Point is, Zoro or any other normal person shouldn't be able to handle too many shadows.

Moria controls shadows but nothing we have seen suggests his fruit makes him more resilient to take shadows. Add to that, just look at the way he got swelled up from the 1000 shadows he took. IIRC handling shadows was deemed a feat related to willpower. In which case zoro wouldn't really lag behind luffy.

If it wasnt clear here, it was cemented at the end of TB when he took Luffy's all and remained conscious.
Also, his will didnt break when Kuina died like Luffy breaking when Ace died.
Luffy's willpower has always been below Zoro.

Luffy is definitely more emotional than zoro but that is hardly the same as zoro having more willpower than luffy.

Luffy has the strongest Haki, so should he have the strongest "will" too?

I wondered about that. COC users basically weaponize willpower but it doesn't seem fair to suggest those that don't have it have weaker willpower. IF zoro has conqueror's haki we will have a pretty straightforward answer as to how their willpowers compare.

Even if he developed CoC, which im hoping he does, unless it can knock out 50,000 people at once i think Luffy ends this manga with the greatest display of CoC seen on page. Save for anything we get from the final battle or we are introduced to advanced CoC.

Zoro has a stunning amount of willpower but between the 2 Luffy has a pretty healthy lead without a doubt.

Idk if more shadows = more willpower, or if its the "body" either way Luffy take it.

One panel of Zoro claiming he has more will power is hardly a fact and more of a self proclaimed boast since feats beyond that clearly show Luffy>Zoro (willpower).

Which is why i said he could probly handle half what Luffy could... its a stretch, but i see it happening. 100? Absolutely not.

But.... what has happened to make us think zoro specifically has such a lead over luffy? the series has never given us any indication that zoro specifically lags in that. We have plenty of evidence that zoro is the second strongest in the crew but in terms of willpower zoro is invariably up there with luffy. The guy's balls are adamantium... heck, the few times luffy has hesitated as a captain it's been zoro who puts luffy in his place.

But that does not define willpower. Its Zoro's role as VC to steer in his captain in the right direction. Being unsure of a decision has nothing to do with willpower. 2 seperate things.

He's up there with Luffy sure, but Luffy's will is still sizably greater than Zoro's. Just an example is everything from Impeldown to the end of the Marineford War. Nothing Zoro has done can compare to the will power needed to endure all of that, not even taking all of Luffy's suffering back at thriller bark. It took losing his crew AND his brother to eventually break him. Zoro has never had to endure anything like that.

Now im not saying doesnt have monsterous willpower, but feat wise Luffy>Zoro

It stated her that many possess CoC, but the one with the strongest CoC (or Dominating Will) will become King of the Pirates. Either now, or EoS Luffy will eventually have a will above all.

But because this is a Zoro thread im going to try and get us back on track.

I think Zoro has enough will power to do a 50 Shadow Nightmare Zoro

Nightmare Santoryu Style: Ashura!!!!!!

I doubt Zoro can take in more than two or three shadows as he's not rubber or can handle his body expanding the way Luffy and Moria's did.

My thoughts originally but i reread the chapters with actual translations and the correct wording implies its hard to take in multiple shadows because your "mind" could start to be controlled by them so it implies " willpower" not "body"

Your willpower has to be strong enough to not be overcome by the various consciousness

How does willpower answer the topic in question, I'm not following the train of thought with that.

Zoro doesn't have King's haki as far as we know. And for "killing Kaido" it won't even come down to King's haki imho... so far all the training is for mastery/advanced Busoshoku Haki. Luffy and Zoro are upskilling their B.Haki atm and the plot points towards that haki being the key to defeat Kaido.

Enma dumps a lot of ryo into attacks so it makes a good case for Zoro being someone to fight Kaido. Defeating Kaido, killing Kaido... I just can't see anyone else apart from Luffy doing it.

As for willpower/King's haki, I think there'll be time for the mastery of this haki (Observation, then Armament, then King's) but it won't be a big factor this arc .

Started with Zoro getting shadows from Moria, which then equated to how many he could receive and the only person who recieved shadows prior was Luffy.

Which is where the comparison of will powers came from.

The possibility of Zoro becoming Nightmare Zoro seemed like a fun theory.
