Summary and Preview
Umihara Keita (18) works as a temp at a gaming magazine with his friends Takadono Yuuei and Sakura Mayuri, writing articles about the latest news in gaming. One day on his way to work, a little girl who looks to be 12 years old falls from the sky onto Keita. Finding it odd but brushing it off, he gets to work but finds out the little girl, who calls herself Torte is there waiting for him, calling him master. Torte is apparently a witch in training and as all witches do, they travel to the human world to complete their training to become a full fledged witch. No one believes Torte but when she performs comedic but none the less, real magic on the people at the office, Keita and his friends have no choice but to accept that she is a witch.
After finding out that Torte is really 3009 years old, the group of friends is introduced to Pudding, a witch friend of Torte who is also in training. She almost immediately accepts Keita’s best friend, Yuuei, as her new master. Suddenly with two witches in their lives, the group of friends has their lives turned upside down. 突如空から降ってきた三人の幼い魔女。一人前の魔女になるべく人間界にやってきた彼女たちが修行の場にえらんだのは、なんとアスキーのファミ通編集部だった。
この漫画の面白さは魔女という特殊な登場人物にはなく、それを取り巻いている雑談、珍談、色々な小事件、編集部員の恋、などによるのである。そのため筋の発展が弱く、各部分の面白さのみが目立っている。いわゆる筋を従属的なものとするギャグ・マンガである。しかしこの漫画のギャグや落ちはとりたてて面白くなく、一巻のドタバタ芝居、ファルスでしかない。むしろ登場人物の多彩さに面白みがある。画力が安定していて登場人物の絵がうまいため根強い人気があり、あまりの面白さに感動したと言うファンまでいる。
