Summary and Preview
Hachisuka Wakaba's happiest memories are of when she was young, eating homemade dinner with her happy, smiling mother. However, life with her single mother was not always happy. Sometimes her mother, tired from work, would yell at Wakaba or even hit her. One day, her mother simply left, leaving Wakaba behind. She was taken in by a relative, the 28-year-old Hinata Kazutomo. Wakaba moves to a new town and joins a new school, but she still has a lot of lingering emotional damage from her mother. Kazutomo knows what it's like to be abused by a parent, and he is determined to help her heal. He reaches out to her through their preparation of dinner, and they slowly attempt to rebuild happiness together. The first volume also contains a short story, "Tsutsuji no Kokuhaku." [tethysdust]
