Summary and Preview

Rushka goes to a school of genetic oddities, who all have horns on their head and a particular inconvenient "sickness". Luckily, when they turn 16, they undergo a procedure which removes their horns and "sickness" and which turns them into a normal human! The sickness in Rushka's case is the ability to fly. As she eagerly awaits her 16th birthday, Rushka befriends a reclusive classmate called Rebin, who has the uncontrollable ability to create other fantastical places. As they roam about with their combined powers and grow ever closer, Rushka starts to think that she doesn't want to lose the ability to fly around with Rebin after all... [tethysdust]
