Summary and Preview
During a class field trip, the bus carrying the students fell off a cliff and plunged into a lake, drowning everyone except for Nikaidou Rikka. Ever since the tragic accident, Rikka can not help herself from being in the water. She soon learns that Izumi, a mysterious figure, placed a golden seed inside her when she was drowning to save her life. This golden seed gives life to anyone that should have been dead and it is the only thing keeping Rikka alive.
Rikka is later confronted by a girl named Mizuchi Rikka, who demands her to give the golden seed back. According to Mizuchi Rikka, she and Izumi are both creatures that live in the water and without the golden seed, she will die. As the golden seed slowly turns Nikaidou Rikka into one of the aquatic creatures, she must decide if she wants to continue to live but only in the water or to remove the golden seed and perish from this world.
