This coffee thing...everytime i try and drink it, it tastes disgusting. ._.

Meh your sig, Darth Revan will always be the greatest, believe it. Shame they decided to do a MMO instead of KOTOR 3.

I lost you at Revan. My star wars knowledge extends as far as the films...and even that is sketchy. :oh

And the sig has history it was part of the ho thread dark side spam out (i thought of a name for it too xD). Saw it in my photobucket account, thought it still looked awesum.

The Harry actor (Radcliff) was not the very best choice, neither was Dumbledore's actor after the first one died.

But at least Ron and Snape are classic :)

I liked the first Dumbledore, but Gandalf(the 2nd one) wasn't a Dumbledore >.>

I really like Holloywood, how they take 20+ actors making them play teens(I've even heard that they plan on using a 23 year old actress for a 12 year old in another movie I'm watching lol :p)

FM, you gotta watch the movies as a separate entity from the books. I like the books just as much as I like the movies, despite what the movies did to the story. The 4 one did seem a bit disjointed, merely going through a series of events rather than telling the story (it seemed to me like the director had a checklist of what scenes he wanted and then edited the film checking them off) but the last few films have been rather good. They're not great, but they're better than what the could've been. I'm looking forward to the last few. This coming from a guy who refused to read a kids book in high school and then in college read through them cause he got addicted... What didn't you like with the last few?

oh and btw, looking cute in those recent pics:lovebunny

I guess fiveheads must be your thing... :sweatbunny

that frenchy chick was good looking.

wait, WHAT?! DUMBLEDORE IS DEAD!? wtf man, you just ruined it!

:gigglebunny

well the first dumbledore went ahead and died on us... but daniel wasn't a bad choice considering they picked him as a kid...he did the best he could, but he grew up to be a shitty actor...most of them did. Ron does the best out of three, but most of the casting has been rather good.

Actually, that's why I dislike them lol, because I tried considering them separately from the books.

All my friends agree: they don't understand half the storyline when only watching the movies a first time. I do, and I explain half the movie to them. Call my friends dumb if you want, but a few critics agree that the movies alone do not give much of a storyline if not a confused jumble of it.

Sure, I find them ok as movies, but I don't have any particular interest either. I'll watch them, but they won't be on my "OMG must watch" list.

I know movies oversimplify things and I don't mind really. They adapt and modify things for easier porting to the mass media. I even accepted the change in punch of the Da Vinci Code without much issue. What I dislike more about the harry Potter movies is that it seems the director wasn't sure if he wanted to simplify the story or stay true so we have a half mismatch of midway.

Btw thanks lol :p

I get what you mean and I wouldn't call them dumb, but I can't really understand their view because I saw the movies knowing the story. I guess if I saw the movies as an HP virgin, I might not like them as much, but I've read the books and I think the movies are doing an adequate job. I have a beef with the 4th one, but the 5th one was great. But yeah, the movies do suffer from directors trying to appease the reader fans rather than trying to tell a coherent story.

Well yeah they're doing an adequate job I don't refute that. They just haven't done so well a job as to really pick my interest as much as other movies had.

But yes, sometiems I watch movies without reading the corresponding book to see how it fares and then I read the book to compare. Sometimes for some movies it's better to do book-->movie and for other it's best the other way around IMO.

Sometimes I kinda fear what Hollywood does with books I like lol :o Eragon was IMO butchered >.> Like seriously, there was no saving that poor thing for a fan like me :scry

I thought you read all the books....well it won't ruin the movie, they've already confirmed chucking out half of the book content, fights and death.

btw that new manga, Akaboshi has a cool, funny, Sasuke type like character as the main guy.

Yeah the problem with series movies that span teenage years is that a movie takes a long time to make and the actors grow up very fast physically, especially when they're in their teens.

One day you got a 12 year old, the next you have an 18 >.>

Never read eragon but I saw one scene of the movie, puked out some milk laughing at how horribly stupid it was and never finished or cared ot watch it again. (the part where the baby dragon flies into the sky and then comes down full grown and capable of speaking fluent english....) but when it comes to book movies, I prefer reading first and then watching the movie. That or if I hear a movie is coming out based on a book, I'll read the book to see if the movie might be good (I am legend....book was amazing, movie changed too much but it wasn't a bad movie...the one scene in the book that got to me, the movie did it better...almost). On rare occasions, I watch a movie and think, "if this is based on a book, I want to read it..." then it turns out there is a book so I read it.

speaking of book movies: never saw the da vinci code, but the book was addicting. Angels and demons, in my mind, read like a movie, so I saw the movie last week, and it was good. Not OMFG THAT WAS AWESOME GOOD! but entertaining nonetheless.

it's funny watching back the first movie now after seeing how they've grown up...they look like babies.

Yeah umm the dragon doesn't magically grow in the book >.>

They butchered it to no end, believe me lol :p

As for books from movies, I tend to read the book first, but sometiems I don't have the time and my friends invite me to the movies so I figure I can read it after. Sometimes as you say, watching a movie gives you the want to read a certain book.

I've read the Da Vinci Code, but not Angels & Demons and I've watched both movies as well. Entertaining movies both.

I do hope they don't try and butcher other of my favorite book series >.>
