Re: Weekly Shounen Jump [2009] - Discussion & TOC Talk v.3
Hasemi was an assistant for Black Cat.
Hasemi was a one of the script writer for the Black Cat animation...
I'm quite surprised that one anonymous statement at 2ch made a bigger deal here than it was at 2ch... (given that everyone pretty much ignored it there

)
Hasemi didn't have a breach of contract, since there is no contract to breach... While it is basic courtesy for an author to work for the same publisher, there are no laws or contracts that actually stipulates an author to not working on anything else. Especially when that statement is referring to script/story for a game...
(Muwlove only quoted the first half, here's the whole thing

Please tell me what kind of publisher punishes an author for taking a job in another almost unrelated field?
There are plenty of authors working for different publishers at the same time... not to mention several novel writers also help with scripts/story for manga.
The common consesus in the TLR threads is that, Yabuki had to quit because he can't be a full time mangaka for a weekly series and taking care of his little girl (she's three) at the same time (now that he has full custody).
Ataru was asking about how much TLR was Hasemi, Yabuki, and the editors... Well, according to the Manga Brain (a special section dedicated to interviews with a mangaka in WSJ), Yabuki usually discusses the story with Hasemi over the phone on Wednesdays, then spends half a day doing the preliminary draft on Fridays... Have another in-depth discussion with both the editor and Hasemi in the afternoon, and finish up the final product on Tuesday morning (Tuesday afternoon is his free time).
