As I said a old topic. It was clear from the beginning that we have to repeat our arguments from previous discussions.
Oh yeah, involving Zoro in this is really unnecessary. The only reason he wants to fight Mihawk is because he's known to be the best swordsman. If some swordsmen managed to defeat Mihawk, Zoro's target would change.
You are completely right. If Mwk get's beaten then Zoro's goal would change. Mwk is the strongest until proven wrong.
But honestly do u see that happening? I mean their battle is hyped for 10 years now. It is one of the most anticipated battle, maybe even more than Luffy vs BB. The OP fanbase are looking for that battle since Mwk appeared in east blue. Do u rly expect Oda to change Zoro's goal? I rly don't see that coming and I believe u will agree with me on that.
But they haven't fought in ages. And if people are going to keep repeating that goddamn title, we may as well just end the discussion.
Mwk is acknowledged as the strongest sowrdsman by charackter in the story, such as Zeff and also he was labbed by a infobox from Oda as the strongest. Of course we will keep repeating that title, since that proves his position among swordsman e.g at the very top.
It doesn't matter if those two didn't fought in ages. It is all about Oda. He labelled him as the strongest and he made one of his protagonist go after Mihawk. So it's only natural that Mwk is the best among swordsman.
Not saying he has no equal, since that would be stupid. But even if its just 1% power difference, he is stronger. I expect their battle to be similar to Luffy and Lucci. Even though Luffy won, he almost lost his life doing so.
on this "other skills" part,i wont assume anything that we havent seen
I appreciate that, Thank you.
but splitting the heavens by the clash of his haki to WB's !! that tells a lot
It is similar to the Aqua Laguna, which Luffy and Zoro made a hole thorugh. Was that Zoro or was that Luffy? Neither of them alone. It was a power combination of both. So lets say 50/50. Same with the heavens split thing, it was 50% from Shanks.
now i'll tell my example again, which probably fell to the previous page already. imagine there is a guy with the title "the strongest boxer". would it also mean he's superior to luffy just because luffy also uses punches? well he uses punches but he is not a boxer at all.so this definition wouldnt work on luffy to compare.i believe same principle work between shanks and mihawk. they both have swords, one of them uses it with the greatest skill in the world, the other just uses it as a tool with supportive skills.
I don't understand why you are taking haki as a fighting style on its own. We saw Rayleigh (
swordsman), Luffy (bare-handed fighter) and Sentomaru (Sumo) using it.
Haki can be used independent from fighting styles. Those three are using different fight styles, yet they are able to use haki in their battle (Im aware about Luffy, but he soon can). Haki is just a powerup or a better fuel. It is not a fighting style on its own.
Now a swordsman only fights with his swords, as Zoro proofed so far. If there is a guy who switches his fighting style from sword to sth else (like Nightmare Luffy for instance) then he can't be considered as a swordsman. Let's say Shanks would use a pistol and sword, then he is NOT a swordsman.
However haki is completely different. Haki can be used to imbue weapons, to predict and repel attacks. (There are other uses of haki too, but they don't matter in this 1vs1 battle). So Shanks would proabably use haki like Margrett did (well she used a bow, but the weapon doesn't matter). He would probably imbue his sword with haki. Thus his attacks would be more powerful. But still, as long he wields a sword, he is a swordsman. Rayleigh used also a sword and haki, but no-one calls him a haki man. He is a swordsman, same with Shanks.
This may sound harsh, but he has no right of keeping the title of the strongest swordsman if he refuses to duel with one of Yonkou. No matter what the reason.
I understand your point. However I don't get Shanks. I mean he fought equally with Mwk before he lost a arm. Then after coming from the east blue, Mwk apparently refuses to battle with him. But what is with Shanks? he could simply attack him to provoke Mwk to fight. But it seems he didn't. So either he accepted his defeat or he lost interest in becoming the best swordsman. Anyway, im my point of view, it puts him beneath Mwk, since Shanks is acting passive. I believe Shanks just lost interest more than Mwk did.
