Bleach does get a lot of color pages, but that's because Kubo draws pretty quickly. The color pages are not too complex anyway. If you compare them with Oda's,it becomes clear why Bleach has so many.
Kubo draws characters perfectly. He got a good sense when it comes to bodies and faces ^^ But the backgrounds and scenery suck.

I also think that drawing One piece is harder than Bleach because of all the details he put on the character design. No one resembles the other :S He's really a creative person.

I wonder what are the rankings this week.

Actually, I've always preferred Kubo's Covers compared to the rest of the Big 3. It's simple, yet he always uses them to great effect.

If I had to choose, I prefer Naruto. Kishi's color splashes are always well composed, well colored, and really dynamic. The hot tub splash from last week is a perfect example. One Piece color is always fun, but Kishi's are always a bit more interesting. I like Bleach color, they feel like fashion spreads, but I don't like as much as the other two.

Thx guys though I wasn't asking about whose better at this <:p> and whose style you like <though its good topic :p> but about eventual 'knowledge' WHY Kubo does have <if he has any> privilege on doing so much color pages :p <from what I know, Kishi seems constantly busy and even when SJ wants him to do color pages, he supposedly doesn't have time, while Oda.. I don't know about him xd>

I prefer One Piece's color spreads, actually. They're always so unique and fun and different from most other series' color pages. Most other series have boring color pages. Kubo has a good handle on anatomy and draws more life-like characters, but his color spreads tend to be fairly simplistic. Naruto has pretty good ones as well, like Kaiten said they're dynamic, but I honestly think they can't hold a candle to the detail and creativity that go into One Piece's. I really like how Oda makes the characters interact with their surroundings (see Sanji using a crocodile as a washing board) or do interesting things for most of the color spreads.

The reason why Bleach gets so many color spreads could possibly be an attempt to boost the series as its in a little bit of a slump right now (not really, but comparing the current rankings its been getting to what it used to get...).

Bleach gets every year about 10 CPs. Some People should accept one fact:
Bleach is still popular enough. It sells over 700k with a tankobon(fourth best selling manga in WSJ). More than 200 empty sites and the people are buying his work. In my opinion, Tite Kubo is a genius.

Not this year actually. Bleach has sold pretty low compared to it;s usual standards as of recent.

I agree with salad.Oda makes unique and funny color pages with stunning colors. It's always fun to see what he comes up with and they never get boring. My brother has one of the artbooks and i saw some other and i have to say that i'm simply amazed by the variety. Then again,i have both Naruto artbooks, which are brilliant too,so i also agree with what Kaiten said.
Some years ago, around the end of part 1 i would always say Naruto CPs>OP CPs,but now, while still being fantastic,Kishi's color pages are slightly inferior to Oda's,even though that varies from time to time.

It seems that Bleach is nearing its end. I don't mean to be rude but I think that it got pretty far compared to what it really offers to the readers.
As for the color spreads, I always prefer One Piece ones. They keep you looking at them for minutes trying to grasp the whole thing.

Gintama and Bakuman outsold Bleach in the first half of this year... that means something :\

Not really:
9 - Bleach 48 - 822,941
17 - Bakuman. 11 - 586,726
25 - Gintama 37 - 498,420

Bleach had an unfavorable release schedule, i would wait until the sales for the whole year 2011 comes out, then bleach should be over Bakuman/gintama.
Sure Bleach is losing fans(the current arc is really boring and aizen....), but after the next bankai bleach will be in the top 5 of the toc again, not sure how long kubo really wants to draw it, but unless hes not selling less than 500k i dont think that bleach will be cut.

Gintama and Bakuman selling more overall is likely due to people buying the old volumes ie, new fans starting to get into the series. That's actually a better sign, imo, than the current volumes having consistent sales, because that means the fanbase is growing rather than staying mostly stagnant (people buying the volumes because they've been following the series all along).

No-one said that Bleach was going to be cut. It's highly unlikely that it will. Even in its current slump (of sorts), it's nowhere near the bottom 5, so no, it is highly, highly unlikely that it will be canceled. Still, I think giving Bleach CPs could be a way of winning some questionnaire votes for Bleach, thus resulting in higher TOC ranking for that chapter (reflected 8 weeks later). Not only that, color pages stand out, thus drawing more people to read the chapter, I guess. When Bleach is losing fans (as you have admitted yourself), this is one of the ways to at least attract more readers to read that chapter.

I know One Piece and Naruto sells better, but which manga is the third one?

My opinion in the "color-page"-contest between the big three is that:
- One Piece is unique and totally amazing
- Naruto is also quite unique and amazing, but not on the same level as One Piece
- Bleach is classy and cool, but not that unique

Little info about Jump #27
Official Release Date: Monday, 13th June

Sket Dance (Cover & Lead Color Page)
Magico (Color Page, 33 pg.)
Bleach (Color Page)
The Accident of Kuzuo Saiki (One Shot)
One Piece (Absent)
Magico with 33 pages eh? Quite a feat. Usually extra pages only equate to 20 something pages. Things are looking up for Magico while the other 3 new series are taking up residence in the bottom five...pretty typical for jump though.

I am seeing here a little discussion about the colour spreads of the supposed "3 Great Mangas", and i don't really have a opinion about it.
I don't really care about them, it isn't like they give us anything new at all.
Though Oda makes quite unique ones , the formula behind it doesn't change at all, at least based in the ones i saw , so though i realize the talent and work of Oda , i don't really get anything with them.
I don't know a thing about Bleach colour spreads :oh
About Naruto though i also don't show much interesting in it but i actually love some of them.

This is the one that i most like , and it isn't because of the art in itself or the skills of Kish, but because of the meaning that this one has :thumbs

Of course. I should have known that.

It's pretty weird though, that a manga that's constantly on hiatus is selling third most in WSJ. On the other hand, it's the second best manga in Jump by far, in my opinion.

I really wish HxH will be back in august, as the rumors says.

Seriously, I think Bleach is in a big problem.

In fact, its latest Tankoubon selling number has been reducing. Usually, it is on par with Naruto, and iirc, there was some year that it selling rank was better. But now, it's not.

Total selling number as #9 astonishing me, and not in the positive way. Defeated by Bakuman and Gintama, that indicates Bleach get a very few of new readers, not mention that it's losing the old fan. Even though it's not in any danger, but Kubo has to done sth, and quickly. :s

I agree with you. Though Oda always win in term of details, art composition and creativity, most of his Color pages have not impressed me that much. It's look beauty, but it's not quite remarkable since its structure is usually the same, mugiwara's crews in the some colorful picturesque scenarios.

While some of Naruto's best color pages always get me. They are memorable with the meaning and the story behind them. But when it came to the worst, Naruto's CPs are really bad, lol.

No comment with Bleach, since I don't read it.

^ Well, Bleach only has released 2 volumes in the last 6 months, and sold almost 2 million copies, which is alot, considering that the fans are plotting (i don't know if this is the right word) against the new ark.

Actually, Kishi's covers come to a close second for me. But Bleach's has something sort of an effect to it. Kubo's composition is artistically well done. But if you're looking for balance, Kishi and Kubo are tied.
