Damnit. Those are prices I am not accustomed to.

Anyway, I took a quick peek at the rents and you are right. Crazy people... But ! These kind of prices ranges can be met in Paris too. An example to illustrate my words :
_ Flat in Paris I ;
_ Flat in Tokyo.
You can see that the rent is lower for the french flat. Of course there are many criterions involved, but I'm not sure we can say that all of Tokyo is more expensive than all of Paris when it comes to the rent tag.
And I stand by what I wrote earlier. It does not really matter what kind of food I eat (actually, things from grocers/convinis mostly), since I behave the same way everywhere, so I could compare.

Compared to Paris, Tokyo is huge. I don't remember the name of all Tokyo's districts but make sure to compare the right districts. I don't know if the Tokyo's district you're showing to me is the equivalent of Paris 1st district. Make sure to compare the right district. Just imagine if the district you're showing to me is the equivalent of a random surbub in Paris.

You should check a flat in one of the most pretigious district of Tokyo if you want to compare with Paris 1rst district. I remember when I lived in my brother's flat at Omotesando, the company (Axa) had to pay the rent, his senior salary was clearly not enough, even if he earned the extra euros since he was an expatriate. I don't remember anymore the amount of the rent, but I remember it was really extremely high.

I confess I just said that the redemption of Anakin Skywalker in RotJ was very contrived, creating a conflict which seemed due to a bad plan. I was fine with the series as it was, but the whole father-son screwed up dynamic seemed poorly set up.

My friend explained that the reason why the classic "I am your father" scene worked was because the Force was effectively confirming it. I can see that, though it annoys me that was impossible to extrapolate given the badly written lines and lack of helpful cinematography. Thus most of the original Star Wars universe conflicts have to be heavily extrapolated from to take away a good story. (I don't say much about the Expanded Universe, since that has solid characters and irons the original characters - minus Jacen, since I HATED how they made him go evil.)

Something in this made him irate. I'm just bothered by the required suspension of belief for such a series. It reminds me of Bleach that way. Kinda got sick of that.

Yeah, I'm not sure anyone's opinions on something I enjoy would really bother me as long as they made sense. Maybe it's because of my appreciation for a good debate.

I don't call him a manchild because he likes Star Wars. I'm a big scifi and manga geek who enjoys programming.

I call him that because of how he acts towards me. I'm aggravated that someone who I used to have long enjoyable conversations with is acting this way. And it applies to everything, even lab duties last semester! I even apologized and tried to refocus on the project, but couldn't work with him because he would be either silent or say a mean thing. I ended up going to another group for the rest of the semester. And yet there are times when I have talked with him and we get along great. Last year we'd meet up in the Dining Commons a lot and chat about everything from classes to personal life to politics.

Well, that was before Spring Break and when he avoided me for a week until he told me "I thought I was getting attracted to you", "you are my type, but", "if I were alone in a dark room with you I would, but" after I spent hours trying to find out why. Things have been painfully awkward since (it did NOT help that he told me I was much less mature than I thought I was, referencing my lack of friends and my pride about meeting a senator, and that is THE insecurity I live with every day - even writing it brings me a little to tears.) But we chatted after the vacation and he was amicable. He paid for a Japanese lunch where I did an intro on a programming language to help him complete a task I offered my assistance with. We both enjoyed it and had a great afternoon.

And now... now it's just back to how it was. I'm just really annoyed that he appears to be scared of my intelligence and attractiveness that he doesn't want to talk with me. I only call him a manchild as a last resort, since I am so sick of this evasion and I am sick of the excuses.

He might just have insecure feelings about his place with you. I'm not sure what the "but, but, but" is about...indecisiveness? I can relate to that. I'm pretty sure anyone could.

It seems like you're both biding your time. Him being the guy aside, it's not as if you couldn't do anything about it. Of course, you could risk the chance of him being even more intimidated by it. Then again, if that isn't your style and you're as frustrated by him as you seem to be, he might not be worth the trouble. It's harder to move on or forget about someone than it is for me to write to do so, so...yeah

His wishy-washy attitude with you probably has less to do with "maturity" and more to do with some sort of deeper inset issue. He's making up excuses and trying to cover something up and it's something he's not going to tell you and probably never will.

I've been that 'wishy-washy' type of person with a lot of people, and that's my experience with it. It could be a mixture of intimidation, impatience, indecisiveness, fear of commitment, and other factors. Those don't necessarily equate to immaturity in my opinion, but you might think differently. When I get those mood swings with a person in particular, it's most often because I get annoyed by them easily or don't want a deeper relationship whether I like them that way or not.

My advice would be to be done with the guy, but it's MUCH easier said than done. The people I am wish-washy towards are always better off without me to be honest. You'd probably be better off without him.

Kinda sucked to see Jacen and even Anakin die. Feels like they're tryin too had with Ben and Luke and the whole joking around. I do miss Mara though, my favorite EU character.
