if anyone can make weird turns to drag on the story than him. more likely a troll, or the editors want to loose all their older series, with kate and naruto to go next. somewhere i heard that sorachi nears also the end with gintama, but others might know more about it than me. sorachi is kinda a troll in this regard. who else would tell in the comment sections of the takkoubons that he don't want to do anymore? xD

For everyone who wants to know more about the details behind the Dragonball movie (the D teaser):

Akira Toriyama, Toei Make Dragon Ball Z Film Next March

This year's 33rd issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is announcing on Saturday that the upcoming new film adaptation of Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball manga will be released on March 30.

The film will be directed by Masahiro Hosoda (Dragon Ball Z episode director, Nangoku Shounen Papuwa-kun) at Toei and written by Yūsuke Watanabe (live-action 20th Century Boys trilogy, Gantz, Bloody Monday, Future Diary), with Tadayoshi Yamamuro (Dragon Ball Movie 4: The Path to Power, Beet the Vandel Buster) acting as the lead animation director.

The announcement also features the URL www.dragonball2013.com, which currently redirects to a blank page on Toei's official website with the URL http://www.toei-anim.co.jp/movie/2013_dragonballz/.

In a comment printed alongside the announcement, Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama notes that the adaptation will mark the first time he has been so deeply involved in the production of an anime, in this case as early as the screenwriting stages. Toriyama also says that the film will retain the atmosphere of the original while adding small amounts of "modern flavor."

The announcement lists Fox International Productions Japan as a member of the film's production committee, alongside Shueisha, Fuji TV, Toei Animation, Bandai, and Bandai Namco Games.

If Toriyama's involved, it couldn't be all bad, but definitely it'll still be bad because it's still DBZ (just my opinion of DBZ). It can't be as bad as Dragonball Evolution though. :awesome:

Kubo was very much involved with Bleach 3: Fade to Black and 4: Hell Chapter =o

about Fade to Black said:
He helped plan the story, plot, and setting, created the new characters and decided on their names, came up with both the English and Japanese titles for the movie, was present for the entirety of the voice recordings (and gave advice and corrections when necessary), and co-wrote Ichigo's ending speech. In an interview in the official Movie Guide, Kubo said that of the three movies, Fade to Black was the closest to the original work (i.e., the manga), and he believed fans of the manga would enjoy the movie.

I think Togashi is helping out Madhouse making the Hunter x Hunter movie. Lately a lot of mangaka have been involved with film adaptations of their work :D

If Kubo's planning on making another movie next year, damn, I wouldn't know what to think. I'm calling it now, 2013 will have Kubo, Toriyama, and Togashi.

Don't Bleach, Naruto, and One Piece movies come out every couple of years anyway?

I think they don't want them to turn into complete shit or mediocre at best movies.

Naruto ones come out every single year, OP normally too or bi-yearly if you don't take the 30 min 3D movie seriously, Bleach not so much.

I thought it is pretty obvious why more (especially) Mangaka from WSJ are involved with the film production. I’m 99% sure it is because of the success of Strong World.

Strong World was a mega success on multiple layers. It earned over 50 Million dollar which is 4-5 times as much as a normal One Piece Movie. The Readership of the Manga jumped from 2 million to 3 million. Those 1 million people buying old volumes. The merchandise sales probably exploded as well-
To make it short. Everyone somehow involved with One Piece made a LOT of money.

So think about it. If you were the CEO of an Anime company which makes a movie or you were the CEO of Shuisha wouldn’t you beg the mangaka or try to pressure him to be somehow involved with the production of the movie in the HOPE to reproduce even a tiny fraction of the success of Strong World?
Oda actually didn’t want to be involved with another movie because the workload was way too much, yet he is involved with the new movie. This pretty much proves for me that he was either begged or pressured into working on the new movie.

Lets see Bleach's Hell Verse came out December 4th 2010 and its supposed to come out here in the US during 2012. OP had Strong World 3 years ago on December 12th 2009 and Naruto with Blood Prison was July 30th 2011.

So Naruto movies are yearly while Bleach and One Piece movies are roughly every 2/3 years.

I think OP movies used to be yearly just as well, but Oda didn't want them to crap out shitty movies year after year only to make money, which is why he decided to work on the upcoming movies (Strong World, the new Z movie). In order for that to work, he insisted on them being released bi-yearly.

i don't understand how they can pressure in mangaka to do anything. i mean what will they do if he just stop doing something? especially oda, it#s not like they will cancel one piece just because he wants to lessen his burden. before i would support crappy movies i would rather take a month break to work on that one solely. somehow mangakas seems to be natural workaholics.
