Re: Nanatsu no Taizai by Nakaba Suzuki
As for why Ban didn't tell King about what had happened to Elaine and the forest, I think it's because
(1) Ban didn't know that Elaine was King's sister.
(2) Ban didn't know that King was the Fairy King. They apparently never knew that he could transform his appearance, so I think this is very possible.
We don't know for sure whether (2) is true, but if it is, that makes it very believable that Ban never told King about what happened. Even if it isn't, I find this scenario more believable than having nearly two identical demon corpses in the same forest.
And thanks for the welcome
We don't know why King left the forest in the first place or why he didn't or couldn't return, but there could be a reason. However, I think his reaction in the flashback in Chapter 21 makes it look like that he didn't know that his forest was burnt down. Thanks for join us. Yes, that's possible, but it's unlikely, since that time line would require also:
In some moment right after the cup-d'etat (after 10 years ago) King discovers Elaine had been killed 10 years before, and
Ban never told King about the dead of his sister.
It would be unlikely that the king of the fairies didn't get aware, during 10 years, of the death of his sister and of the end of his forest. And Ban not telling King about her sister's fate is unbelievable.

It's hard to believe Eli is somehow in that body, at least that she changed not only her size but her temperament. Known Eli wouldn't never hit Melodias in that way. Not even if he doesn't recognize her by looking to her changed eyes... Poor Melodias, that should be painful.
