it could be everything. secret doesn't mean big or television, just that they will reveal it. it could also be figurines and so on. just look at jump editors that give remarks like "huge popularity" and nothing of it is really true at the end. its just a way to promote something and they will use everything to do that, even if it is lame in our eyes.

Great that Owari no Seraph is so popular, I'd like a anime, but monthly series and early anime doesn't match, so I hope that they wait until the series has more or less 40 chapters, the same as Shingeki no Kyojin when it got anime.
I don't remember when Ao no Exorcist got a anime, but it was much more earlier than that.

No, Owari no Seraph is not based on an LN, it's an original story by Kagami Takaya. The LN of Owari no Seraph is a prequel set eight years before the manga before the vampires appear and focus on a different protagonist, namely Ichinose Guren, who is also an important character in the manga. Both manga and LN are written by Takaya and illustrated by Yamato Yamamoto and are published concurrently.

The title for the prequel LN is
Owari no Seraph Ichinose Guren, a Fall at the Age of 16

It's currently at volume 2 and volume 3 will be released on January 2014 together with vol 4 of the manga

The plot is basically Guren and his friends trial and tabulation while studying at a Sorcery Training School in Shibuya. The novel also shows many younger selves of characters from the manga. Guren's main arc in the novel is basically to gain enough power in order to finally be together with his fiancee, Hiiragi Mahiru who comes from the Hiiragi family. The Ichinose family, the family where Guren is from, is a splinter family from the Hiiragi family and the two family are not exactly on good terms, to say it mildly.

Yes, it is not a light novel. There is a light novel for Owari no Seraph but it was released along with its volume 1, and the light novel is a prequel of OnS (so, the story is different).

It is confirmed that the new series by Sukeno Yoshiaki (author of Binbougami ga!) going to start on upcoming December Issue. It looks like it going to be a fantasy action series.

There are 6 chapters without volume, enough to fulfil a volume, so it can be just merely a technicality, to not let the readers that buy in volumes wait even more. Hunter X Hunter released two volumes past year and didn't back, so I won't put high hopes in it.
