Discussion Who will get Ace's Mera Mera no Mi (Fire) Devil Fruit?

I'd be happy enough if the fruit travelled with Strawhats until a new nakama would join them.. I don't want Rebecca to join, nor do I see her eating the fruit. She must stay at Dressrosa and Blackbeard would come for her there had she had the Mera Mera no Mi... But also, if Bellamy and Violet join.. or whoever, those two are my tips, they could get it (if they were non DF users, ofc)

I don't really see Luffy going to Fujitora saying "Hey, good gramps from the casino bar, I'm sending this to my friend Coby, who's foolish enough to think he'll capture me once. Let me increase his succes rate and make sure he eats it"... Just imagining Coby with Mera Mera does no good to me, sorry.

As it was said, Zoro ate the Badass Badass no Mi, he, therefore, can't eat another fruit. Sanji is, by far, crew's swimmer. If Jimbei was in the crew already, I'd have my votes on Sanji but like this no, he must be the drowned DF users's saver. No goes to the rest of crew. Usopp is supposed to remain the weakest (Oda stated this very fact). Nami would not like to lose her ability to swim, as far as I am concerned, right? And Franky already denied it. Rest are DF users.

If Rebecca gets it, which I hope for she does not, she has to prove herself worthy. And if she eats it, she's not going to be liked unless she shows me a Flame Whip attack. Gladiators' fighting style for the win!

i would love to see coby get it, but i completely agree about zoro, he doesnt seem like the type that would want help from a DF for a power upgrade

he has too much pride in his sword fighting of course if he had a power like nico robin he could use several swords at once ....

I don't want Coby to get it. He just doesn't seem like he'd make great use of it, and he's not that good anyway. If it's not an artificial devil's fruit, I'd prefer Luffy keep onto it or another Straw Hat, who could then pass it on to the next future generation they think deserves to be pirate king.

Nah, Zoro wants to be a master of three swords style. He doesn't want extra swords.

The thing with combining weapons and DF's is that it needs to have a "Soul" like the Zoan-type fruits. I don't think it works on anything else, but we'll see!

I agree, however there is a possibility that Oda will tell us that cursed sword are cursed because they somehow got a soul in them. This way it would become possible for Zoro sword to get the Fruit. But I hope not. I don't want Him to get the fruit in any way since it would reduce is achievement as a swordsman if he has access to a logia sword.

True, Coby has grown considerably, but he was fodderized easily by Luffy. Coby didn't develop haki, he discovered he could use haki. At first he had no idea what was going on but now... he may have developed his haki further.

But if not for learning Gear 2 after fighting with the CP9, Luffy would have had a harder time against Coby. No doubt Coby's a good character, but I don't think he shoudl get the mera mera no mi.

What would be interesting is that he wouldn't use the Fire ability in a different way from Ace.
Ace was using his fists, but Sanji would be using his Legs.

Hey if he wanted to add the fruit to the ship, the ship is on top of water most of the time. So wouldnt the powers be diminished?
But then df abilities work in water as well. Its just that the user is unconsciuos. So maybe it might work.

If it does happen, sh will get more firepower when it comes to sea battles.
