:sgan The effect of Mugen Tsukuyomi is very strong in you. :sgan

Kidding aside, I don't know which I would rate higher between Hunter X Hunter and early Naruto. But I wouldn't go as far as saying that Naruto is leagues above Hunter X Hunter.
For me, Naruto as a story was one of the best in shounen, better than Dragon Ball, One Piece, and even Hunter x Hunter. In terms of entertaining though, Dragon Ball was one of the few that could give it competition.

i look at it like this

dbz is the best action by far

one piece has the best overall plot

bleach had the best beginning and probably the best art (with fairy tail also competing for best art)

naruto has the best characters and had the best character development

hunter x hunter has the best anime, BY FAR and is strong in every category above other than art work in the manga

Nope, just stating the truth. Reading HxH, and I don't see how Naruto's similar to it at all. HxH is good so far, but Naruto is better by miles.
i agree that the naruto manga is better than the HXH manga

but the HXH anime is probably the best ive ever seen, i am rewatching it right now and i love it as much as i did the first time

I wouldn't say it's new really...

He doesn't need to wait to take the spotlight. He's not even doing anything and HxH sales are still good.
we are getting a bit off topic, but i heard a rumor that togashi may be waiting for the anime to catch up with the manga because he plans to end them both in the same year like he did with yuyu hakusho with one final arc

DBZ is one of the worst actions, it's just repetition. Dragon Ball was better. I don't think Naruto as an action manga could stand to Dragon Ball because Dragon Ball actually had fighting with some strategy, while Naruto early on was more about strategy.

Just because there was "more strategy" in Naruto doesn't mean it's better series. That's your subjective opinion. According to IMDB, DBZ is better series overall, beating Naruto by the whole star.

One has to look at serirs for what they are supposed to be. DBZ hasn't lost it's way [aside from some hax abilities with Cell and Boo], Kishimoto clearly has, it's a totally different manga to me. I realize that og Dragon Ball was comedy with some action, yet the beginning of Z made the new direction apparent early on.

You are gonna bring a IMDB rating into an anime discussion? That aside, majority votes don't matter, the majority doesn't decide what's objectively the best. Toriyama made it enjoyable to read unti the very end at least, can't say the same over the last two years of the boredom war.

If story-elements, progress and the depth of characters can be brought into an anime/manga discussion, then IMDB can certainly be brought in as well. The majority of votes is a collection of subjective opinions, making it as close as objective in general as it can.

The majority votes subjective, therefore it's objective? Please make some sense because this does not. Imdb is one of the worst sources for an objective rating. If anything at least use a page that's created and based on anime/manga viewers/readers... AniDB, MAL or that one with the angel banner.

All that aside the IMDB rating stands for the animated version, which is a 5 or 6, 7/10 on a good day at most looking at all the retarded fillers within the series, it says nothing about the manga. What's worse is that most Naruto ratings are based on the middle or early parts and aren't updated regularly, meaning that the worst parts of the series aren't included in the rating.

I know it sounds paradox to talk about DB and talk about fillers, but I'm sure you know which ones I mean.

It's sad to realize that most manga reading teenagers have likely not even touched Dragonball yet. :(

Yeah, I know. My Photoshop skills suck...screw you for making fun of me.
It's not about photoshop skills, it's about sending a message. Which you perfectly did btw. :lmao I'm expecting more edits from you in the future!

@LnDRash
Stay out of this! I barely managed to defeat the Rinnegan here with the help of Rikudou King. If you were to ressurect KingOfNight in ET state - which means he can't be banned - and join his fray, I'm afraid of getting stomped. :darn

IMDB was just a thrown out site where people post their opinions out of many of them. If the majority of the people think it's better, then it obviously is better.

Dragonball Kai which didn't have any fillers still has a higher score than Naruto.

Please stop. That "majority" was never, isn't or ever will be the "objective" rating. The majority is not proficient enough to judge what's objectively good or not.

Yeah when the version not having any filler is rated better already, or course the one without will be rated even better, especially when it's a thinned and HQ version.

And you are? Don't sound so condescending as it doesn't help your argument. What makes you think that your and others' argument alone beats the majority of opinions which don't agree with you? That way, no one would ever know what the right score is or how something good or bad is because everyone thinks their own opinion is the one that's right. And that's obviously ridiculous.

Actually, the original version is better rated.

I'm more proficient than the majority, that's why. I've seen more anime than the majority and I've read more manga than the majority, likely by a huge margin.

Better rated by whom? 27.4% voted Z as "masterpiece", which is absolutely not true, not for any version of the sequel. Then there is also the difference of people only knowing Kai or Z, and those that have seen both. Most of those voters grew up with Dragonball/Z, not with Kai. They would rate it differently because of that. Kai is also missing a huge part of the plot, which may have created some discontent which lead to a worse rating.

May I remind you that the us citizens voted for horrible president more than once? What does that say about majority to you? That they are always right? :3c

You are failing to provide an argument that makes the "majority" the "right/better" decision.

I've also seen a lot of anime and read a lot of manga but that doesn't mean my opinion is more "proficient" or "better" than someone else's. Assuming if we're talking about reasonable person with the opposite view of mine. I think that One Piece is crap simply because of weird drawing style but my opinion doesn't dictate that manga's true worth.

The content of the show doesn't matter when you have a large pool of people voting. The voting system is created just because of that reason, so people can see the final score of something which isn't a result of only biased or ignorant people. Those kind of people can't ever be avoided so if 5 biased people give a low score to something that's miles better, it won't matter because there were 20 reasonable people next to them who justify the final score.

The president example is a horrible idea because people generally don't know shit about politics and regardless make the vote because of their boredom or simply because puny minds think that they're relevant if they cast their vote.

I don't see how I'm failing. If I see 20 people saying that something is good and you're saying it's crap, I won't believe you over them. It's that simple.

I believe I also mentioned how the fights in DBZ got boring and repetitive after Frieza Saga.

I don't understand your logic. You consider my opinion to be subjective, but reviews from IMDB to be objective? No, there's no difference between their opinions and mine, it's all subjective. Just because IMDB says DBZ is a better series doesn't make it so, and of course people will give it high rating - it was the anime they grew up with that had so much action. It's similar to how most teenagers or adults will give Naruto high ratings because they grew up with it and loved watching the anime while giving some newer anime lower rating.

DBZ isn't that much of a better series, and I actually like the manga, though I think Dragon Ball was easily superior.

DBZ had no way to lose, as long as it had fighting in it. That was the only way it had, and even then the fighting became repetitive. Naruto lost its way, I agree, which I have stated many times. It used to be a complex shounen with complex characters and ideas, which then turned into a simple manga with its main hero getting powerups and being a typical boring shounen hero.

Dragon Ball wasn't just comedy, it also had action and adventure. Despite my issues though, I do think Toriyama made it enjoyable to read. At least, it wasn't as horrible as Naruto currently is.

Sorry Roman but you didn't get it. You would look at OP subjectively, but that's why I'm talking about an objective rating. What are the art and plot are supposed to carry, how and why Oda uses this style.

Kishimoto failed to deliver throughout, Toriyama did not. Staying entertaining is that important.

Yeah OG DB > DBZ. Just reread the first couple chapters and each is filled with memories. I prefer his style from Dr. Slump over DBZ, probably because of the heavy focus on comedy.

I know. Still don't understand what makes IMDB any less subjective than my opinion, considering it's still based on opinions. Majority is not always right.
