Huh, Ashihara seems to be having a lot of issues with a weekly serialization. He seems to complain a lot in his authors comments, and he's been having to take several breaks now as well. Seeing how World Trigger has been only a mild success rather than a big one, I wonder if Jump might consider axing it if multiple of the new series end up being successes.

I don't follow authors comments, so I can't comment on how much Ashihara may have complained.

Never mind. Looks like someone's been keeping track. I don't know how they are compared to other authors' comments, but the complaints seem to be completely petty; poor soul just can't win a card game.

Hopefully JPN gives Stealth Symphony a chance. Its second chapter was a great conclusion to the two part introduction and made it feel like the world could be not only expansive in terms of the magical aspect but also in a wide breadth of interesting characters.

Curious on Illegal Rare's second chapter, perhaps it is a game changer compared to ch1.

Her occasional (and often unclothed) appearances in Episodes is one of the only good parts of the show.

Wow viz and Food Wars! and AssClass in the same year, theyre really wanting my money by getting these hits.

Ignoring Gintama and the sports & gag, they seem to have all the high selling series licensed in some form for english release.

I love the series and all, but the concept of this might definitely bring some major controversy here.
I mean in a nutshell the series is "Kids are trying to kill their teacher in the classroom with guns"
Yes, we all know it's a lot more complex than that, but the American media doesn't care because they just want to tell a story.
This was not a good idea on Viz's part.

That is definitely a shocker to see Viz of all companies add AC to their lineup.

Another major issue I should also point out, aside from the depiction of guns, is that there are going to be a lot of puns that won't translate well. Sure, a lot of them are minor, but then there are still two big ones that need to be taken care of: Korosensei's name and Bitch-sensei. For the sake of keeping things as close as possible to the original source material, I hope Viz keeps these puns intact rather than try to make their own thing, unless their own thing happens to work.

Seeing how sensitive English-language media can be to guns, it wouldn't surprise me if at some point, the series gets pulled from the lineup, temporarily or permanently. In the meantime, I can't imagine this series getting anything less than a Teen Plus rating. There's one instance of Irina saying "fuck" in the original manga, but I guess they can just tone it down, raise the rating to Mature, or both.

I think AssClass has the potential to be the next Naruto in America, I can already imagine kids easily wanting to be like Karma-kun. It has big potential here. I think the media criticism spin is just really overblown and such. The media will most likely spend more time trying to prove that kids playing violent videogames is the cause of aberrant children behaviors in the classroom and out of it, than a manga series that their library picked up for kids interested in learning about Japanese comics.

It's no different than the criticism of violent movies and videogames. So if those morons want to go after it, then...well, there's no such thing as bad publicity.

I think you guys are blowing this out of proportion if the numerous anime series depicting child soilders managed to make it over to the US just fine I'm pretty sure this can. It'll be interesting to see how the jokes get translated though
