I read iShoujo and SS this week. I figured that this is what iShoujo would do...so it seems we'll get a new couple for each 'arc'. I think that's a refreshing way of tackling the genre, and at least we aren't stuck with annoying characters for too long if they turn out to be that way. Of course the down side is if we get likable characters like the two in this 'arc' then we have to say good bye to them one the arc is over.
This is totally what Hatsukoi Limited had going for it, and what probably totally killed it as well. It's a brilliant structure when done well, but people either get too attached or don't have time to attach themselves to characters and its popularity falters. So I'm both pleased and worried about iGirl doing the same thing.

Honestly I'm a little surprised at myself for getting this attached to a series which is firmly in a genre I loathe. Maybe in my decrepit old age I still have something similar to regular emotions.

...That or I just can't or will not learn to not get attached to Jump series that aren't One piece.

I didn't know Hatsukoi limited did as well since....aforementioned loathing of this genre. Now I'm worried too. Well...moreso than I was before. I guess I sort of like this series due to it's art and the really likeable first leads. I hope it can last a little while at least, for my newly found human emotions are weak.

Haikyuu!! getting some representation at volleyballs is nice, anime hype.

I know about 95% of you don't care, but some dolt added some rather detailed misinformation on the Wikipedia page for Kenji Sakaki's Enigma about some upcoming/ongoing anime adaptation of the series.

And to be sure the editor wasn't mistaking Enigma with any other series, I checked to make sure there isn't a pre-existing/ongoing/upcoming anime directed by "Seiji Mizushima", written by "Hiroshi Ōnogi", and produced by "A-1 Pictures". Sure enough, there wasn't nor will there be any known anime that fit the criteria.

Ishoujo could reuse the precious couple. The story most certainly stays in the same school so a couple formed out of the president/vice president could later appear on and help others or just shown in the background. I read many romantic stories that used this schematic.

More surprised at there being a pro volleyball league in Japan.

I'd be surprised if didn't exist because Japan is a strong Volleyball team.

There is one. It was founded in 2006. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that pro-volleyball is not well established in Japan. Or very many other places :s

Bad source, it was founded in 1994, the name of the league was changed in 2006.
[Edit] I'm correcting someone and making mistake... The records of Japanese volleyball league are from 1967, don't know if it was pro from that point.

Excuse me, has there ever been a case where Jump expands its series capacity? Sunday and Magazine has more series than Jump.

I don't think that the number of series has changed drastically in decades, there's no need too, I mean, Sunday and Magazine don't have the circulation Jump has nor their series sell as much when they're released in volumes

I think it did really early on. Like REALLY early on, because there weren't really enough notable series. Like... Father's Soul might have been it for a good few years till stuff like Isam, Mazinger and Dokonjo Gaeru showed up with the growth of the magazine post shonen book

It did on its early serialization, but not for currently. Plus, I don't think Jump needs to expand its capacity.

Jump system isn't more efficient? Jump has less series, but every series sells decently, it doesn't happen with Magazine and Sunday, where there are more series and a little of them sells well. I don't know about the profits of Kodansha and Shogakukan, but I cannot stop of thinking that it may cause loss.

I have the same opinion, no need to expand the magazine.

I thought Kodansha had explosive profits this year.

Um, I think ANY magazine is a loss. Don't confuse the purpose of the magazine for the publishers. They don't publish the anthologies with profits in mind.

Yes, because of Shingeki no Kyojin, but we can call it a normal year?

Does it exist in this capitalist world? They think in profit, at least indirectly by selling the volumes and other products.

So you're saying Kodansha and Shogakukan operated with a loss this year, while Shueisha hasn't? What is that based on, really? The three "main" publishers aren't ONLY in the manga business after all, you know?

But as far as their manga imprints, I have no idea, honestly. The other two seem to do decently without being as cutthroat as Shueisha is with WSJ.
