i hate to be that guy but it will go on hiatus sooner than later :( , i also hate the fact that fans have nothing to do about it...

at least he should do +30 chapters this time to make up for that ridiculously long hiatus
30+ chapters sounds pretty reasonable since it's been a really long hiatus. I hope it stays for a long time though.

WSJ Comic Sale May 2nd [Friday]

*sigh* There always has to be that one volume cover that ruins the rest of the batch...

Anyways, Amano Akira's artwork is amazing.

I know it's probably too much to hope for, but I hope he's been stockpiling chapters up so that even if he has to go on a hiatus, Jump will still be able to keep publishing the series for a while so that we might not even know that he did take a break and then he'll come right when the stockpile chapters Jump is publishing will begin to run out.

I hope so too or maybe he could publish 9 chapters then take 1 to 2 months break in between before coming back again... This would be a low pace but way more bearable than having to wait 2 years for the next chapter.

Nisekoi - recycled color page if im not mistaken
No, the art is completely original, although it had a CP with festival as the theme in the past.

Besides Nisekoi, Naruto also seems promising.

Why do you hxh fans go from creying legit tears of joy to then being negative and strongly predicting a hiatus. One of the best moments for hxh readers in awhile all ruined now by negative vibes being unleashed.

I wish I could take part in this festive event but id have to wait on the anime. I wonder what their plans are even.

I just think its HxH fans not trying to hype themselves too much. When HxH goes on breaks, it is always frustrating for the fans. So this would be a way to ensure people don't have high hopes of the serialization being long?

I'm super excited, but let's be real, it's fine to be cautious or negative about the announcement. Togashi, great as he is, haven't exactly proved himself to be reliable.

Good to hear HXH is coming back. Very exciting.
Good luck to whomever ends up translating it. I'm not doing any more weeklies for now.

That ad said there would be details in issue 22-23, which is this week's. I can't imagine how many details there could be outside "coming back in X issue".

I'm a couple pages late for this, but:

Read every week:
Assclass - 9
Nisekoi - 7
Kuroko - 7
Shokugeki - 7

Get caught up in chunks every now and then:
Hunter - 6
Toriko - 6
One Piece - 6
Haikyuu - 6
Gintama - 6
Naruto - 5

Dropped:
Bleach - 4

Everything else I haven't read enough to judge, or I'm waiting to see if it'll last before I pick it up.

Now that I did catch up on Toriko on last night (viz jump from when the anime ended to current), Id place it a tad bit higher than One Piece in my book, post timeskip it really is handling things in a more competent manner than Oda has and is delivering on being extensively exciting. No characters received unnecessary blemishes to tarnish their design, and characters displayed actual growth, not just a key few and the world feels more expansive than say the two locations in Grand Line that basically boiled down to a flat plaza and an ordinary town.

As much as I think the stuff after the timeskip in One Piece is lackluster compared to how it was, I'd say it's still too early to tell about Toriko. We basically got 10 chapters after the timeskip in Toriko. The setting for the timeskip in both series were different. The readers didn't think there would be a timeskip in Toriko until it actually happened. One Piece's readers knew there would be a timeskip. So after 500-600 chapters AND a timeskip, if Oda gave us the same characters with little changes to the designs, fans would have been disappointed. I, personally, love the character designs after the timeskip although I will admit that Robin became unrecognizable.

As this is my first post, I too would like to provide my insight on the current SJ series.

One Piece:Great adventure story, yet some of the arcs were boring.
Naruto:The manga/anime series that introduced me to the wonderfull culture of japanese comics and animations. Has its flaws and never was the same thing after part 1 (Chunin Exam was the peak IMO), still huge fan.
Bleach Great battles, nice designs and enjoyed the story before it became a huge mess. Appreciated it until middway Fullbringer Arc....from that point onward complete disaster.
Assassination Classroom:When I was reading the inicial chapters i thought it was kinda "meh", but ,oh boy, after reaching to the Exams arc it only improved. Nice variety of characters.
Toriko:Never gave it chance and after hearing there was a "real" battle cooking manga I'm pretty sure that i never will.
Shokugeki no Soma:Ah! the battle manga which isn't a typical shonen battle series and the series revolve around an unusual theme for this kind of genre: Culinary. Simply amazing, deserves all my love.
Kuroko no Basket:Watched the first season: liked; watched the second: loved; read the rest of the chapters and I'm like this going to be Slam Dunk all over again.
Haikyu!:Watching the anime and it has a good vibe to it. Looking forward to where it's going to take me.
Saiki Kusuo no Psi Nan:Few chapters translated to give it a good look.
World Trigger:My weekly dose of sci-fi(when it gets fully scanlated).
Illegal Rare:Hope it get betters and reach the author previous work.
Stealth Symphony:Disappointed. Expected more from Durarara!! author.
I-Shoujo:Enjoyed the first chapter and think it got a chance to be a good replacement to Nisekoi.
Tokyo Wonder Boys:I want to read this series so bad even if it's ,well, bad...
Isobe Isobee Monogatari:Don't like the art style, but would read to know how the comedy works out.
Gintama:I just didn't "click" to me, liked Sket Dance much more. The 2nd movie was incredible though.
Nisekoi:Hate how the series has become (only appreciated the Shuu52Teacher's and Ruri's arc). Waiting for the plot to move because i enjoy reading it.
HunterXHunter:Despite all his hiatus and designing problems Togashi is truly a genius. Don't remember any other series (in the shonen demography) that pulls the whole battle+tactics+Nen(specific power) as well as he does. No wonder the editors begged for he to come back.
Kochikame:Those days when i was in primary school and stayed up late just to watch Kochikame in my absolute favorite channel were the most fullfiling ones. Sad that no ones dares to translate this Beast.

So now that HxH is coming back do you all think this arc will be the last one and how long do you think it'll be, seeing that the Chairman Election was around 20 chapters if I remember well, the longest arc up to date being the Chimera Ant arc that lasted for a total of 12 volumes out of the 32.
