Well, if you want to focus on Batman to the point of him playing an equal role or bigger than Superman, then don't sell this thing as a sequel to "Man of Steel". Make it "Batman VS. Superman" period. That's all I'm saying regarding that. And to play more to the point your trying to make, Wonder Woman is in this film as well and I imagine if DC wishes to be on par with Marvel, when it comes to the movie business, shouldn't you be trying to put as much emphasis on her as well as Batman?.
Regarding what I said concerning Marvel winning against DC, it's a fact and the success they've made isn't a lie as well as the numbers to prove it. Irregardless of Marvel selling their brand to Disney, it's paid off. The brilliant plan they did was make a giant story and split it up into movies on separate characters first and lead it into a movie, where all those characters are together in one film. Making them each iconic can sell by itself and the real payoff is something like "Avengers".
DC ruins themselves by using Batman over and over. Superman is not that hard to sell, the fact is (and you said this yourself), your not giving the Man of Steel a proper story with a challenging and interesting enough villain. And there's plenty to use for at least a trilogy. Lex Luthor could be the side-villain and then there's Brainiac, Darkseid and Doomsday. Those names alone are enough for a proper sequel with or without Batman or Wonder Woman. And back to Wonder Woman for a sec. This sequel to "Man of Steel" should be focused on her more than Batman, give her the character set-up she needs for her on movie. It can work and she could possibly be a bigger hit than Batman ever was. It's possible in today's world.
The Flash can work too. Doing a reboot to Green Lantern and using John Stewart instead could work, too. I just think, DC is putting too much of their concentration on Batman. I mean, first this and now your doing a tv show about Gotham city, before Batman ever existed. Sounds okay, but I didn't forget about the failed "Birds of Prey" and how that turned out. Whatever.
p.s., Got a chance to see "X-Men: Days of Future Past" and I must say, it's a great follow-up to "First Class" as well as tying up some loose ends with the original X-Men trilogy and Wolverine spin-offs. And if you do go and see it, wait for the credits to end completely and get a teaser for another upcoming X-Men film. I'm really excited for this third one.
And I like the ideas they came up with regarding the Sentinels. I was impressed and satisfied, after waiting 14 long years to see these characters on film. Great film and will be seeing it again.
