Have to say it's really amusing how you know tidbits from different arcs in the manga, characters, etc. Not sure why you even know about Alluka lol. Won't explain the whole is she girl/boy whatever, but to me she's a girl until proven otherwise. Not really an Illumi fan, Hisoka so much better. Their psychopathic mother, Kyoko or what she was called, is so lulz though, epic.

Don't mind, I'm so used to the salt flying around Hunter x Hunter Don't really have a problem with people joking about that, as long as it's not the same lame joke again and again.

What from Killua do you actually see in Sauce? XD Now Kurapika is almost too similar, another case where people went "Kishi copied that to make Sasuke!" lol.

I know about Alluka because there was massive hype around her, I assume when she was introduced. I mean how many people here haven't worn sets of her? Even the noob I quote below wore a set of her I believe.

Uh, well there's elements. Like I said I find Killua + Kurapika = Sauce. Kurapika is obvious. Red eyes that "awaken", clan, clan all dead and murdered by a gang instead of a stupid older brother whom is glorified by the community for being a mass murderer /rant. Other than that it's not too much, he's talented obviously but nothing extreme. This is where Killua is much more relevant. Highly talented, is introduced as much more powerful than the main character in the start (like Naruto v Sasuke). Has kind of some of Sasuke's personality traits in terms of calmness/analytical capabilities. Isn't very similar personality wise otherwise obviously, especially beause Killua is WAY mroe friendly/childish/humorous. But then he's in an "elite family". His older brother is extremely powerful and shows psychological domination abilities over Sauce Killua. Even his eyes fucking twisted around when he used Nen on Killua to I assume hypnotise/influence him, which hasn't been explained yet really. In terms of abilities he's way more like Sasuke too compared to Kurapika. Extremely fast. Agile. Highly skilled in hand-to-hand. He even pierces his opponents with his hand instead of using a piercing technique (Chidori). That's why I found them a rather "merge" to form the perfect Sauce.

Basically some friend was nagging you about it but you never got around to it (I think you didn't know about CR then). I think I suggested you skip? or you suggested that? in order to skip the first episodes since they're "boring" if you watch them at first, golden. Dunno. Can't remember.

Oh yeah, that was Xiraiya I guess. He tried to make me watch Gintama for years. I don't think he influenced me much when I actually did start however, I recall surprising him with that. I guess some influence from here + knowing it was hyped got me in the mood to watch it. He used to spam me with youtube videos of epic and funny gintama scenes.

niichan, man HxH has a song that reminds me so much of one of my favorite OST ever. It makes me get such nostalgic feels for this OST. The memories! It reminds me of the song that plays immediately in this DGM video.


At a somewhat related note HxH also has a song that is extremely similar to one in Death Note, one of the songs that is heavy on choir usage.

Yeah, Hisoka kinda is like a less digusting and more funny Orochimaru. I prefer Hisoka by a huge margin, but he's a fan-favourite in general.

Sounds like you reached Yorkshin now huh? (From your D.Gray-man post). What do you think of the Spiders? I think during Yorkshin you slowly realize the complexity and importance of the Nen system.

Makes sense, she certainly was hyped XD Though she did receive a nice amount of flak too, there still are many people who think she shouldn't have been introduced at all.

Yeah I see your point. Just was a bit surprised because Killua's personality is nothing like Sasuke, but I agree with the points you mentioned. Not really much to add to that, so don't be mad for the short answer

Yeah me too. I like Orochimaru a lot and he's a great character, but while he's similar to Hisoka in some aspects, he's completely different in many more than he's similar. Both are superb characters to me, not sure whom has more depth yet, I'd guess Orochimaru honestly, but I'll have to see if we learn more from Hisoka. But personally I like Hisoka more, it's just a personal preference for his type of character. I really enjoy these really weird "Joker like" characters. And for some reason I'm fascinated by clowns/masked people.

How did you figure that out? O_o my DGM post was purely for the OST, lol. Yes I'm at episode 55 I think. It's deep into the arc and the crew are gonna attack the Spiders after the whole mafia vs spider situation. I honestly have mixed feelings about the arc so far. I find it WAY too slow for one. Had I followed it weekly it would've been a drag to me. Some aspects about it was hype as fuck and awesome as hell, some others were super boring, others were average. I'm sorry but I can't bring myself to care enough about Kurapika either, and the arc has been HUGE at following him unnecessarily, and by this I mean his mafia bodyguard plot. IMO the story could've been moved along faster and skipped more parts where he's off by himself not really doing something relevant (that means when the story doesn't include Gon/Killua), and the plot could've been faster to include Gon and Killua with Kurapika's plot. Highlights for me so far have been three: Firstly, Kurapika fighting Uvo obviously, although it's bitter to me, I'll explain in a bit. Secondly, Gon and Killua getting captured and all those scenes + stalking. Thirdly the Troupe's attack, which is mainly awesome because of Zoldyck's fighting the Troupe Boss. HYYYYPE + DAT PLOT TWIST with Illumi! Other parts were kind of boring too, not including Kurapika, like so much focus on Gon/Killua uselessly getting some MINOR cash, I mean come on... They need billions and we follow them around so much when they get only thousands...

Now I'll explain my main complaint about Kurapika really: His progress is too fast for me. I really hate rushed training arcs/periods in general. I found Gon/Killua's mastery somewhat OK but even theirs was very fast to me. After all they did everything in like a couple months or something. Then they spent the rest fighting which was super cool, and doing other random stuff like visiting Whale Island for plot reasons. But Kurapika is too godlike IMO in just 6 months, it screams bullshit to me. The guy can handle these legendary group's members after a few months of training from ZERO.... His improvement rate is just too rushed to me, despite it being "condition based". Poor Leorio seems doomed to not even master basic Nen xD

I think DGM was my third anime. I know I watched Bleach, then immediately Naruto. I'm not sure what I watched after, but I'm pretty sure I moved onto DGM. It was so good, and I even learned half the anime was fucking filler when I read the manga after xD Yeah the series was superb IMO. Such a shame, it had such massive potential too. A bad part was the confusing style of the author, which made many panels, especially fights very hard to understand what was going on. But the plot was so interesting... I really loved it pre-monthly. The Edo arc + Level 4 Akuma Invasion arc was so fucking hype, holy shit... Following that it kind of went downhill a bit IMO, with health issues and hiatuses, then it became monthly and became much worse. And yeah, that OST is one of my all-time favorite songs. Such a memorable moment and song to me. Really hard to explain, but it's one of those really "deep" anime songs to me.
