I don't think there is a rule that says it can't be cancelled.

Well that's the work description tho. I mean, I respect mangaka a lot for the work ethics and not having that much of a social life but that is what they signed up for going in. So i just think he shouldn't be taking so many breaks especially when his series isn't at the right level of popularity yet.
Well, I don't think the series will get any more popular anyway. The anime will end with 50-60 episodes, so in 6 months the series will be at the peak of its popularity then start declining.

Nisekoi in 5th! I'm glad! :x3
I hope it becomes like that until the best part of the arc and increases even more.

I honestly don't think WT should be absent so many times. The series is barely standing on its own even with an on-going anime. I just feel taking breaks like this would get people to lose their interest eventually.
That's true. The presence of the series in a weekly basis is important. If World Trigger had to get absent for a long period... I'm afraid that they will prefer to cancel it because it will crumble when come back anyway. Many absents make the series lose space in a crucial time.

Yeah, but I don't think its good for the relationship with the studio to cancel a manga when the studio put a lot of mony to advertising the manga.

Given the animation quality, I think the studio themselves were aware that it could fail and decided to keep it low budget. And given how Toei Animation has One Piece going for them even now, I don't think they would bother much about a small anime like WT. Anyway, my point was that I personally think the mangaka is taking a big risk here with the constant breaks.

What if Ashihara can't help it? I'm sure he knows what is at stake. He's not a Togashi who has lost the fire to be a mangaka.

I hope people will understand soon how work the making of an anime and will stop saying that World Trigger has no budget. Kaji Yuki, Hanazawa Kana, Morita Masakazu, Kugimiya Rie, Fukuyama Jun or the orthers doesn't work for free. Toei spend a lot of money to get all those A++ Seiyuu.

Yes, it was not the best plan to spend all the money on the voice actor and to leave literally no money for the animators, but this is a management problem not a budget problem (even if the overall budget for the world trigger animation project was lower than the average).

Knowing or not, it continues being a risk. If the popularity decreases, the editors will have to cancel it, no matter the reason of the breaks.

Japanese people can care about seiyuu, but I'm sure they don't put them above animation. If the studio wants to put them above animation, it is better make a VOMIC. Considering the comments I saw here, the anime is almost a VOMIC anyway. :derp

People that said that are stupid and don't know what a VOMIC is!

Also making a VOMIC, because the seiyuu are above animation? A VOMIC makes no money at all is just a promotion stunt, famous professional seiyuu are expensive, it makes no sense to spend them in a VOMIC instead of a full animation.

Before cancelling the manga because the author is sick, I believe they will first change the title to another magazine, just like it was done for D. Gray Man.

I use emoticons here for nothing it seems... No commentaries. :derp

D. Gray-man was famous and continues being famous, unlike World Trigger which is just median. Even so, the popularity of the series probably went down.

How much popular doesn't matter. If the author as health problems and because of that he can't continue a weekly schedule they will put him in a better one. It has nothing to do with popularity.

We don't know the reason yet why WT is absent, do we? Maybe it is not a health problem, but something else.

I was talking about hiatus, since D. Gray-man is in hiatus.
You are mistaken when you say it doesn't have anything to do with popularity. Jump SQ is another magazine with another editorial department although it is from the same publisher as Jump. If they see that the series will not bring any good to the magazine, they will refuse. D. Gray-man is much more popular than World Trigger, so we don't know how Jump SQ would react to such request.

Anyway, we don't know if it is because of health problems. Nothing was said so far... If it is just delay... His situation will be worse than what we said here.

Yep, we don't know what the reason of this hiatus. But we're talking of the hypothetical situation where he can't keep up the weekly schedule because of health!

Also note that I didn't talk of him going to Jump Square here! I said, "they will first change the title to another magazine, just like it was done for D. Gray Man". They can change it to Jump+(irregular schedule), Jump Next(bimonthly), Sakyou Jump(Bi-Monthly), V-Jump(Monthly), Jump Square(Monthly) or even changing demographics to Seinen or Kodomo or anything else. So as I said before, it has nothing to do with popularity! If the author is sick and can't handle the schedule due to health issues they will change him to a more appropriate schedule.

You gave D. Gray-man as example, what do you think I would think? :fail
Excluding Jump+ and Jump Next everything else has to do with popularity. No magazine would accept a series that could give more expenses than profit.
Anyway, it is better wait than discuss based in assumptions. If World Trigger continues in the bottom, a change of magazine will not even be necessary.

Do you have interpretations problems? If I was talking about "changing Magazines" when I related D. Gray-man with it I was obviously talking of the "changing Magazines" and not "changing to the magazine that D. Gray-man changed to".
Are you saying that if I had used as example some author that works in other publisher you would be complaining about how World Trigger is from Shueisha and can't be changed into another publisher?

It doesn't matter if some of them have or not(something that I don't agree with you), the fact is that I didn't specified any magazine so if there is at least 1 magazine that doesn't have to do with popularity then my comment is right!

I will be quite honest, it took me a second to realize that wasn't Tokyo Ghoul.
LOL Yeah. Too serious for BnH. Too serious for "superhero comic style" CPs.
