This innocent game would attract a lot of whiners saying, for example, "Why Black Cover in 16th? It is a masterpiece!". It would be fun it weren't for this detail...
Preferably, a thread only for this and someone to moderate to avoid editing of posts? :hmm

How about there is no rocket science to it and Koro-sensei was placed at the front because tentacle monsters attract curious views? One Piece because Pirate Beer, I mean beer in a wooden cup has to get the males look at it. And Midoriya + Soma cover the fujoshi fanbase, one is the cute shota and the other the hot bishounen. And just like that you have every possible otaku group looking at your fabulous magazine!

I find pretty funny how SharkBait always types BLack Clover, which shows why he likes it :3c

Btw, I think Bleach is in a better position in the cover, since it is with other titles with good sales, bigger or nearly as big as Toriko or Gintama (HQ sells much than toriko since a big while), also usually rank better than Toriko or Gintama (this doesn't applies to Bleach, though).

Unfortunately, Roggy is already inside the bottom even before it gets ranked... It is hard to believe that it is going to be worse than Black Cover, but who knows side by side?

Is in 15 position from 20 titles. It is not in the bottom! And even given that it means little!

It is meaningless count Kochikame (not ranked) and Isobee (always last) and according to past cases, it means a lot...

Anybody said is rocket science? So what are you arguing?

Also have you seen the previous all characters covers?
Popular series characters are always big, Luffy is always gigantic(one time he even was a Titan kindergarten teacher), new series and unpopular series are always small and is easily to see that the proposition of the characters is relative with the popularity and contribution of the series in the magazine. Not sales of manga as people love to say here.
There was a huge ruckus when Toriko got at the same plateau and size of Luffy and Naruto, and Ichigo was downgraded one level, and people were saying that it was selling amazing and would be the next big thing. The truth is while it got amazing rankings and contribution in the magazine(the author had a previous title that was one of the Top 3 series in the magazine for years and only ended because of issues outside of the company), the series was selling around 180-190k copies per volume(As comparison around the same number of volume, Hakyuu was selling 250k, One Piece close to 1M, Assassination Classroom 800k, right now Boku no Hero Academia in its 2nd volume and selling 300k. Nurarihyon no Mago and Beelzebub had similar sales of Toriko!).

What do you think is that "contribution" that you mentioned? What a magazine needs to continue publishing? Apples? ¬¬'
Series contribution = Sales = Money = what is need to continue publishing.
Popularity is related to the sales as well, a popular series seels better...

Everything is about sales and you are the one who doesn't understand the system... It is lacking a bit of knowledge about Capitalism here...

You have for example the case of Isobee that before being ranked got 2 times in 15th place. And it still got super popular.

We also got Illegal rare getting in 5th place and we know how that got. Right now Black Clover before ranking got in 4th place. Let's see how that goes.

While being as low has this at this point is a bad premonition, it can still go both ways.

My optimistic issue 20 prediction.

1 Gintama (Cover and Lead Color)
2 One Piece
3 Ansatsu Kyoushitsu
4 Boku no Hero Academia
5 Shokugeki no Soma (Center Color)
6 Haikyuu
7 World Trigger
8 Hinomaru Zumo
9 Kagamigami
10 Toriko
11 Black Clover
12 Nisekoi
13 Kekkai Sensen (Center Color)
14 Kaizou Ningen Rogii
15 Saiki Kusuo no PSI-nan
16 Bleach
17 Kochikame
18 Ultra Battle Satellite

I keep hearing how One Piece is not ranked this week but shouldn't it be World Trigger that shouldn't be ranked if we're going by the 8 week rule? Then again I still don't really understand how the ToC works.

Don't think about how many weeks or ranked or unranked or whatever, the only thing that's sure about the Jump ToC is that it's chosen by the editors depending on which series they want the readers to read the most, that's it

And here you talking of apples vs oranges. You're talking of Volume sales, while the magazine itself sales a ton more than any singular title, even One Piece. So you know a series that contributes to the magazine popularity is more important!
Also this is a all characters of the magazine, is obvious that they are promoting the magazine, not each title of the magazine, for that you have individual covers.

Weekly Shonen Jump = 2.67 Millions copies printed per week. 10.68 Million copies printed per month 21.36 Million copies in 2 months and 32.04 Million copies in 3 months.
One Piece = 4 Million copies printed in every 2-3 Months.
Naruto = 2 Million copies printed in every 2-3 Months.(not anymore of course!)
Assassination Classroom = 1 Million copies printed in every 2-3 Months.
...

Even given that a magazine is around 2 times cheaper you get 16.02 Million copies in 3 months.

You have examples of Hinomaru Zumou(28.8k), Isobe Isobee Monogatari(34.2k) and Kochikame(40.5k), but still think the sales of the series is relevant!

Let's see the groups:
. One Piece -> Sells 3 Million.
. Assassination Classrooom -> 700k, Boku no Hero Academia -> 300k, Shokugeki no Soma -> 300k
. Haikyuu!! -> 800k, Bleach -> 500k, Nisekoi -> 300k, World Trigger-> 200k, PSI Saiki -> 90k, Hinomaru Zumou -> 30k
. Gintama -> 300k, Toriko -> 260k, Kochikame -> 40k
. Isobe Isobee Monogatari -> 35k
. Rest -> 0k

List only influenced by the volume sales:
. One Piece
. Haikyuu!!, Assassination Classroom, Bleach
. Boku no Hero Academia, Shokugeki no Soma, Nisekoi, Gintama, Toriko, World Trigger
. PSI Saiki, Kochikame, Isobe Isobee Monogatari
. Hinomaru Zumou
. Rest -> 0k

In Toriko chapter 31(Will assume that 1st and 2nd volume were already out), Jump got an all characters cover and Toriko and Kochikame were in the 2nd row from the front!
Toriko was selling 70k, and Kochikame the normal 40k.

Refute the first phrase is enough...
I'm talking about all kinds of sales. Shonen Jump line up is made mostly by the polls the readers answer. The editors keep in the magazine what readers want, and take out what they don't want. The series that have the biggest characters in the cover are those that are higher in the TOC and therefore receive more votes and consequently, the ones that bring more readers to the magazine, that consequently leads to more sales to the magazine. This is the logic.
One case that proves it is that Shonen Jump print number decreased from one day to another after Dragonl Ball ending. There are people that buy Jump only to read One Piece, AC, Haikyuu and so forth. They are the ones that contribute more to the magazine, both in magazine sales and volume sales. Everything goes around sales.

This isn't an exact science.
This problem is similar with a black box, that from time to time throws a ball with a number. By seeing the number in the ball, and knowing a few extra informaton, you try to understand how the inside of the black box works and by doing so understand what the ball number means.
To solve that problem you don't need to perfectly grasp how the black box works! Mainly because probably you will never really understand how it does. What you need is a established "formula" that in a satisfactorily manner explains what it is happening, and with that you can take interesting and meaningful conclusions.

With that in mind, you can count everything, you can remove the cover/color pages, you can remove Isobe and Kochikame, you can start counting from 8 chapters or 7 or 9, you can remove the series that were in break in the previous [starting counting chapter number] issues. And so on.

Normally we are interested to see what is popular and what is unpopular and what is in risk of cancellation and what is not. If you think that is important not to count "chapters" unvoted then you can track them and not count. I personally think that is to much trouble and in the end it means little.

Note: In its basic statistics and economy works in this way! Well In reality we here are doing nothing more than statistic inference, gathering samples from a population and inferring their probability of cancellation/Success.

I don't know if I wasn't being clear, but I was talking of "contribution of the series in the magazine" VS "Series volume sales". Saying that the first is relevant and the second isn't, for the all characters cover.
I never talked anything about contribution of the series not having nothing to do with sales/money. I don't know where your previous post attack came from given that it seems you were talking of all kinds of sales.

You opposing things that are the same! The contribution of the series to the magazines are its sales (volume and magazine)! If it isn't this, what kind of contribution you are talking about? :fail
There isn't another contribution to the a series to the magazine besides this one.
Sales is not part of the contribution, sales IS the contribution.
