Exponentially, to say the least. I mean, it needs to involve a huge jump in power level, especially judging by how he easily overpowered Izraf at dawn. And how fast it increases, cause it seems it does pretty fast

Yes, but how big is exponentially.Exponentially, to say the least. I mean, it needs to involve a huge jump in power level, especially judging by how he easily overpowered Izraf at dawn.
Esky likely gets a huge boost at dawn, but his growth in PL is of lower amount after that. I mean, having a constant percentage of increase is too much: he'd have a PL of millions at noon.Yes, but how big is exponentially.
300 to 5k at dawn is already a huge boost at being about a 16x increase.
But that doesn't make sense seeing as escanor was able to lift a weapon that base in shape Meliodas with power level over 32,500+ couldn't lift, and with only 1 arm.
So you could also make a argument that base day escanor is already stronger than base in shape Meliodas, leading Meliodas to believe escanor is stronger than him regardless of whether or not he's seen noon escanor before. It makes sense that if Escanors base is already stronger than his base, he would just flat out state escanor is stronger regardless of if both are at full power.
Nakaba could have dodged how strong base day escanor was because of how insane it would have seen at the time. Merlin gave izraf's power level, but didn't give Escanors when he killed him by standing there, and not moving.
But a over 100x increase at dawn is insane, however that could be the largest jump and after that his power steadily rises until noon.
But at the same time we know nothing of the axe.
It could be enchanted like Thor's hammer mjolnir, and only escanor can use it.
But that wouldn't explain why night escanor couldn't lift it then.
Maybe it can only be wielded in conjuncture with sunshine, or only day escanor?
Or maybe it's simply THAT insanely heavy like Meliodas said it was, which means base day escanor is at the very least physically stronger than base in shape Meliodas.
Way too many variables to consider when talking about Escanors power level.
I agree.Esky likely gets a huge boost at dawn, but his growth in PL is of lower amount after that. I mean, having a constant percentage of increase is too much: he'd have a PL of millions at noon.
Yes, there could be some inconsistencies which is why I said a lot of "coulds", and "buts".It could be that base Escanor is stronger than base Meliodas, indeed. However, some points associated with Mel do not coincide:
-Ren was able to dodge a few of Meliodas' attacks, which should be nearly impossible against someone with a PL ten times greater.
-Meliodas was barely dragging Esky's Rhitta, which should be impossible for night Escanor, but guess what, he dragged it for some time even in his spineless, weak form. That could imply that only Escanor can "lift" it, but still.
I introduced these two points in order to discuss whether Meliodas can keep his base PL at 3370 or not. If so, relying on his inability to lift Rhitta is futile as proof of Esky's strength.
Meh.ItThat's true; I simply hope that Nakaba refrains from making Escanor far too powerful. The same applies to Meliodas.
Ren was able to dodge a slice from Lostvayne, which is a good feat even if Meliodas was not taking the fight seriously. Again, you should be able to jokingly defeat someone ten times weaker.I agree.

However when Meliodas got his power back and jumped to a 32,500 base, did anyone in the group notice any difference(outside of King, however he was getting some focus during that part of the story and that could have possibly just been nakaba using him to emphasize meliodas change). Merlin already knew how strong he was so of course she had no reaction.
I don't believe we have an example of anyone suppressing their base power/relaxed state, or if people can even do that in this series(it's not DBZ where everyone can suppress their power to less that 1%).
There have been a couple of times throughout the story that a concept like that could have been used, killing off your base power so your enemy doesn't sense it, but it's never been said or used.
Meliodas was clearly being a goof when "fighting" ren, so that could have been how they managed to exchange a couple of blows. He even jokingly said "Oh my!"when she managed to break his helmet.
He clearly was exerting no effort, which he should have had to, even a little if he was at 3370. Gilthunder was a lot less than 3370 yet Meliodas was clearly fighting him seriously(or at least a lot more seriously than gelda) when he was 3370. Gelda is at least over 1000, so it stands to reason 3370 Meliodas would have had to exerted some effort against her, which he clearly wasn't.
Merlin also managed to k.o him somehow way back in lioness when she took his power. Meliodas is strong, not almighty. If his head is not in the game or he's not paying attention, he can be hit like anyone else.
You know he could have just gotten away with a 32,500 base by just not using any demon energy and relying solely on physical strength.
However him and ban use to arm wrestle back in the day, which implies Meliodas kept his strength hidden, was at 3370, and they were near even.
However ban could have just always used physical hunt on him, but that would have made the arm wrestling redundant, but you have to ask if ban would care, he did steal his allies strength when they were having a serious battle against the vampires.
Meliodas also was willing to use demon energy on ban back in the day to give him his scar, he used it on ban during the byzel arc, for their friendly fight, none of the sins noticed any kind of power spike. Heck the only reason they noticed at all was because of the black marks. Without them they wouldn't have noticed anything at all. He also used it when fighting the vampires, so you might be overthinking him trying to hide his strength. Obviously he never went all out in base, but it doesn't mean that he wasn't always at that level because it's his relaxed state.
Finally where do you see escanor moving his axe.
What I remember is that Meliodas was dragging it, left, escanor tried to movie it, it didn't budge at all, izraf showed up almost immediately, escanor ran, we cut away, came back, and then he was day escanor. From my memory he didn't budge it at all, where do you see him move it in night form.
Meh.
I'm okay with escanor being stupidly powerful because it will so inconvenient we'll almost never see him at full strength unless the sins plan to specifically fight certain enemies at noon, but how often is that going to happen(at least once but outside that I doubt much, if at all).
Honestly that's part of the reason why I put escsnor above Meliodas. Why give someone such a stupid handicap that basically renders them unable to ever enter a fight at full strength if they weren't almighty at full power? While letting another, stronger character be able to power up to his max whenever he feels like it? It just doesn't make sense to me.
Mel I agree on though, because if, he truely is stupidly powerful nothing is stopping him from powering up and oneshoting enemies whenever he feels like it, vs escanor who can't do that even if he wants to.
Who was he hiding his strength from by not one-shotting her?Ren was able to dodge a slice from Lostvayne, which is a good feat even if Meliodas was not taking the fight seriously. Again, you should be able to jokingly defeat someone ten times weaker.
Yeah, I know. When his head wasn't in the game gilthunder could put up a fight. The case with Gil is different; Meliodas was reluctant whereas Gilthunder was determined. That being said, Gil's willpower likely increased whereas Meliodas was holding back.
He could easily overpower both Gil and Hendy when Elizabeth's safety was the topic.
A single arm wrestling match does not prove the actions Mel and ban took in the other 1000+ times they arm wrestled. The arm wrestle is the most relevant, yes. However, judging by the fact that Ban did not use Snatch in Baste is enough as proof to conclude that he does not use Snatch in arm-wrestling. He was not aware of Mel's lacking strength.
Of course Mel is weaker than the demon king. No demon is going to be stronger than the guy who leads them, heck in that clan I doubt you could even rule when you have people as prideful as galan running around, unless you were decisively and easily the strongest. If the commandments are as strong as they are it raises the question how they were even able to beat him in the first place, unless it was the remnants of all 4 clans+ Meliodas vs the demon king at the end of the war.Powerful? Yes. Insanely powerful? Hopefully not.
Keep Escanor and Meliodas below the Demon King and some others and I'm fine with it.
I do agree with your handicap thesis.
That's not even the topic here. I'm not saying that he couldn't defeat them; I'm saying that Meliodas did not SEEM to be 30k PL above Ren in their fight. I mean, when Mel noticed that Ren was attacking, he swung his Lostvayne but she dodged it.Who was he hiding his strength from by not one-shotting her?
He was by himself when fighting ren and gelda, so he could have one-shotted them and walked off and nobody would have known anything.
You say he was still hiding his strength when fighting them yet he used his demon energy to obliterate gelda which was way more noticeable than if he used his base physical strength to oneshot them both.
Yeah, I know. When his head wasn't in the game gilthunder could put up a fight.
That's what I said about him vs ren. He was clearly jokingly fighting her leading her to be able to dodge a attack or two.
Night Escanor dodged a few attack from a izraf that wasn't trying. Night escanor is 300-ish, and Izraf is about 5k. 16x stronger, yet escanor could still dodge his attacks. If he can do it, why can't ren?
A single arm wrestling match does not prove the actions Mel and ban took in the other 1000+ times they arm wrestled.
Well, it'd be weird that meliodas would limit his strength to precisely the amount of power merlin would have left him with if he were to loose it. Or that merlin would have left him with the precise amount of power mel normally uses (maybe not so weird though). Or that the amount of power mel restricted himself to would have had something to do with the amount of power merlin could take.Meliodas was obviously limiting his strength to 3370 back then, it's the only logical explanation for his past feats. We saw what he did to Galan at 32500, it would have been even worse for the others, Ban would have never been able to win against him at arm wrestling even once. As for Escanor, his power reaches his peak at a certain hour so there is a limit depending on the level, when he faced Izraf it was just the start of the morning so he was probably between 4500-5000. Nakaba probably didn't think about all of this when he was drawing these chapters, it's like the STs that he changed for some(Ban and Escanor IIRC).
It doesn't have to be exactly 3370; we're simply stating that it was not as great as 32500.Well, it'd be weird that meliodas would limit his strength to precisely the amount of power merlin would have left him with if he were to loose it. Or that merlin would have left him with the precise amount of power mel normally uses (maybe not so weird though). It is weird that ban was able to win against mel at all, he would not have even a fraction of mel's total strength. Its plausible mel was intentionally holding back though it would be strange if his PL was literally limited to that amount. PL's have not been shown as something you can increase or decrease at will after all. Maybe merlin erased a few more memories? There are some details regarding the attack we are still unfamiliar with, like elizabeth's involvement in it. We know she was there but the story does not really fit, the order is sort of wrong. Then again meliodas himself might be omitting a few details so as to not mention elizabeth.
I agree, Meliodas limiting his power makes more sense than him not using it. The examples you give are good at showcasing that.Meliodas was obviously limiting his strength to 3370 back then, it's the only logical explanation for his past feats. I will put 100% in my trust with you on the artist thing, i've seen quite a lot of your drawings on tumblr and i must say i like them quite a lotabout the first part, i'm an artist, i draw wveryday and i draw bara men too and let me asureyou something.. all the changes he made for the different time od the day are due to the change of bodytype and peronality, is not an age fact, also the eye difference is also another artit trick they don't necesarily mean he has two souls inside, but the way they're drawn indicate his change of personality, if he kept hi night eyes the whole time he wouldn't have looked believeable during the daytime, and if he kept the daytime ones he would have not looked weak enough during the night and no way he has to completely change the design everytime he gets to noon adding more hair and bear is not functional when you're making some strytelling... also according to this theory then putting his age in the guide would have been completely irrelevant since according to that he doesn't actually age and then they could have written like ban 23 shown but actualy 43 or since is not said anything about sunshine we could have found a ??? mark
about sunhine i don't think it's actually related to that i do believe his power is somehow linked to the goddess but i have the feeling it wil be more similar to the arthurian version rather than a goddess/demon hybrid power ....meaning that there might be a gawain with a stable sunshine somewhere but maybe none of the two theories are actualy the truth
i believe we all re trying to make things more coplicated than they actually are

I've considered this point, but the amount of information we have is diminutive.i was playing pokekishi's story mode and i got to the part when hendy shows the grey demon to the ins and i realized that his big wound was kinda familiar
hendy said it was discovered only few years ago, and if some high ranked holy knight can damage it and if sunshine is the same as hellblaze for emons and stops the regeneration then there's a possibility that escanor maybe didn't blow up places but still left a trace .. i mean..
